While the vibrations of the Clit Exciter won't make everyone climax, it will work for some. I can use this as a warm-up to get myself closer to climaxing by myself or with other toys. The fact that it's waterproof certainly makes it fun for bath and pool time play.
The Clit Exciter is a clitoral simulator. I've also used it to reach my G-spot. However, my G-spot is somewhat shallow. Don't get excited and try to use it anally. It doesn't have a base for that. I feel that it works better for solo play because of the long neck and slightly tilted head. It's easy to hold and maneuver with your fingers and wrist. However, this worked best only as a warm-up toy for me. Consider it if you don't need very intense vibrations to climax.
Eden carries it in four colors: orange, blue, green, and pink. I went with pink. If you want to travel with it, take the batteries out. Take into consideration that it looks like an average, inexpensive, sexual simulator. I wouldn't consider it discreet. With background noise, the Clit Exciter will be find to use in a roommate situation, even with someone in the same room. Since it's waterproof, you can use it in the shower or pool as well.
The Clit Exciter is made from plastic. It's a non-porous and phthalate-free. Made of food-grade material, the Clit Exciter is hypoallergenic and latex free. The material receives an 8 on Eden's Safety Scale.
The plastic is firm and smooth. The only texture located on the Clit Exciter is on the head of the toy. There is a small scoop in the middle of the head, surrounded by nine small nubs. About 1/3 the way down the handle of the toy there is a thin silver band. I'm not sure what the purpose of the band is, but make sure to clean around it really well.
Manufactured by Cal Exotics, the Clit Exciter is designed to apply textured pressure directly on the clitoris and a small area surrounding it. The head on the Clit Exciter is a little over an inch in width and length. The handle on the toy is about 6.5 inches which makes the entire toy 7.5 inches. It's diameter is 1 inch, circumference is 25 inches, and weight is 3.5 ounces.
You can partially see through the plastic which makes the motor easy to spot. It's about 1/3 of the way down, closer to the head of the toy, and that's where the vibrations can be felt the strongest. The vibrations can very gently be felt through the rest of the toy, but they dissipate the closer you get to the end of the toy.
The Clit Exciter is powered by two AAA batteries. You unscrew the bottom of the toy, turn it upside down, give it a little shake, and a thin, plastic compartment falls right out into your hands. You simply insert the two batteries into the plastic compartment and the compartment back into the vibrator. When screwing the top back on, you'll notice a plastic band between the screw-cap and the body of the toy. That's what helps to make the Clit Exciter waterproof. I submerged the toy in a sink full of water and played with the dial base. It had no problems working its way around the basin. After checking out the battery compartment, all was dry. The Clit Exciter really is waterproof.
The Clit Exciter is controlled by a dial-base. A dial-base is one of the easiest controls to use. Simply turn up the vibrations by twisting the dial counter-clockwise. Turn the vibrations down by twisting them clockwise. The dial is located at the very end/bottom of the toy. It's right below the spot where you unscrew the battery compartment. Unlike some dial-based toys, the screw-cap is very tight and won't come unscrewed while you're adjusting your vibrations, even with slippery fingers.
Surprisingly, the Clit Exciter isn't that loud. If you're going to use it with someone else in the room, use a fan, a T.V., or music. As long as you keep it under the covers and have some good background sound, you should be fine. It's buzzy vibrations are on par with that of the Nexus G-Play Medium and the Diamond Spot Vibrator.
Since the Clit Exciter is made of plastic, it's very easy to clean. You can use antibacterial soap and hot water, wipe it down with isopropyl alcohol, or even toy wipes will do. The fact that it's waterproof helps because you can submerge it in water. That always makes toys a little easier to clean. If you find that fluids are hard to clean out of and from around the dip and nubs on the head of the Clit Exciter, use an old toothbrush to gently scrub the textured areas.
The Clit Exciter comes in a clear, plastic, clamshell packaging. It's not discreet and wouldn't make a tasteful gift. The front of the insert features a scantily-clad, large-breasted woman along with a picture of half of the toy. On the back of the paper insert there's a full picture of the Clit Exciter. The insert lists Cal Exotics' website, has suggestions on cleaning, batteries, lubricants, and the toy's waterproof ability.
It's pretty obvious that this is packaging for a sex toy. Although the clamshell is much larger than the toy itself, if that's what you want to store it in, it's certainly a possibility. However, I wouldn't recommend it. I'm sure you can find better storage options from Eden.
Unfortunately, The Husband didn't get much action in on this one. I prefer using the Clit Exciter by myself. Although, I can't climax with this toy, it still made for a good warm-up before moving on to something else.
I enjoyed this toy when I threatened The Family to leave me alone and locked myself away for a relaxing bath. I knew it wasn't going to be strong enough, but it didn't have to be. Once the music and the water started relaxing me, my mind began to get dirty as my body began to get clean. I was able to tease my G-spot and my clit with the Clit Exciter and finish myself with my fingers.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it1 month after original review
I was fine with using this as a warm up toy, but now that I've moved on to the likes of Mimi and Uma, the Clit Exciter just doesn't do it for me. On the other hand, if you don't need the stronger vibrations that some toys offer, you might be interested in this waterproof toy. It's just not quite for me.
