You always remember your first, especially when it's great.
This is a great vibrator for clitoral stimulation and I highly recommend it, especially for beginners. It is simple and easy to use and won't intimidate you or your partner. The Velvet is waterproof and is a very nice addition to any relaxing shower. The only problem is that it is slender and so it may not be able to get you off vaginally on it's own. On the other hand the smaller girth makes it good for beginners.

Pros
Simple, effective, inexpensive, and waterproof.
Cons
A bit on the small side, may not be enough vaginal stimulation.
The Velvet touch vibrator is the first toy I ever purchased. I was looking for something simple that wasn't intimidating and was inexpensive, but something that could still get the job done. For that this toy is perfect, and the fact that it is waterproof is a major plus.
As a clitoral stimulator this toy works excellently, better than most of the others I have tried. The Velvet is a traditional vibrator with a 1 inch diameter shaft that tapers to a small rounded tip. The concentrated vibrations at the tip feel great on the clitoris, and the large range of speeds are great- from light and arousing, to powerful and orgasm inducing. It always gets me off and I can cum multiple times while using this toy. I should also mention that it is great for use with a partner too. The simple design isn't intimidating and my partner loves to turn it on low and run it over my body before he heads south, and it feels great.
The concentrated vibrations are great for clitoral stimulation but penetration with this toy isn't anything special. The soft smooth velvet texture feels great externally but there isn't enough to be noticeable internally. It feels good, but I need something more in order to finish. That said, the Velvet can be effective for g spot stimulation if you angle it.
Some people have mentioned having problems with it in water but I haven't experienced any issues. I've been very pleased with the Velvet touch vibrator in the shower and in a stream, though I have not yet tried the bathtub. I had to replace my original toy when the screw on battery cap cracked, but as long as you don't drop yours on a rock like I did you should be ok. Before I cracked it the center core did separate and would come out when I removed the batteries, but I didn't find this to be a problem. The vibrator continued working with the same power and this actually made it easier to get the AA batteries out.
The description says it can be used anally, and while the lack of a flared base means it isn't safe for this I have tried it. If you are definitely interested in anal buy a toy specifically for that purpose, but I wanted to try it out first. It is easy to insert with a little lube, just be careful to only go in a few inches. All I wanted was to know if that type of stimulation would appeal to me, and that should be enough to give you an idea. This toy is easy to clean but it can't be completely sterilized so be mindful of that.

I have had this toy for a long time and I still love it. I've added many more toys to my collection but this is definitely a favorite and I continue to use it frequently.
