Discretion automatically interested me due to its sleek design and ability to hide fairly unnoticed in anyone's purse or living quarters. The toy is perfect for women who prefer clitoral stimulation when they play with themselves. I don't recommend it much for men, as you'll have to struggle to find a use for it. The little bullet is a nice size to touch and stimulate the clit or nipples with, but not much else. I really don't suggest insertion of this toy; the plastic and wires don't seem to be meant for any penetration play, but so long as you can get past that, you'll find this toy exceptionally good at what it does.

The cord is long enough that partner play is definitely a possibility! Simply turn it on and lead the little vibrating bead wherever you want it to go!

Discretion is made entirely of smooth plastic, so expect a firm, unyielding toy. But, seeing as the only usable portion of this toy is the small bullet (about an inch long), you won't find any problems there. The bullet swells in circumference on either side, providing very slight hills that you can rub against. If you're a person who needs more intense or interesting texture, you might want to pass this one up. It's very bare-bones, but don't let that deter you from enjoying this toy.

Shaped like a pocket mirror, Discretion is meant to be almost a secret-agent toy that no one is meant to suspect, until you open it up of course. Inside you'll find a mirror (further employing the "just a mirror" ruse) and a little plastic bullet on a wire, complete with easy-to-use controls. Personally, I believe any toy with Discretion as its title probably shouldn't have "California Exotics" on its outer shell, but that's just me. If you leave this toy out in plain sight, I've found the majority of people will walk by and not notice a thing. However, it's rather thick for a supposed pocket mirror, and as I said, the advertisement on the cover of the toy won't win you any argument points if anyone finds it unless you try to pass off the little bullet as an ear bud that goes "BRRRRRR," but good luck with that!

The controls are inside the toy and very simple to use. The inner switch contains three speed options. The farthest to the left is off, click the little switch once to the right for low speed, twice for medium speed, and three times for high speed. All of the speeds are fantastic and even a seasoned toy user will be pleased with Discretion's high speed. A small crank at the far right side (you have to flip the toy upside down or stick a nail in the cracks to release it) helps you wind and unwind the bullet's 36" cord. Turn it counter-clockwise to unwind the bead (or just pull on it) and turn it clockwise to wrap the cord up again. Very useful, especially for any of us that have had to deal with tangle-prone toys!

The toy is absolutely silent, which is a blessing for just about anyone looking for toys! Even all the way up, the only way you'll hear this little friend shaking away is if you place the plastic bullet on a hard surface (then you'll meet with an unpleasant rattling sound- I don't recommend it). Do NOT submerge it in water. Discretion is plastic and won't be able to handle the adventure.

My one peeve with this toy is that it sucks up batteries like you wouldn't believe. Discretion runs on 4 watch batteries, and the awesome folks at California Exotic decided to include an extra 4 in the package. However, while many of my toys are still running good as new months into play, I've already replaced the batteries on this one, and it seems like even the second set of batteries have been weakening in power. Complete and total battery-guzzling. You'll notice the moment Discretion runs low on juice because the vibrations will become less powerful and start to putter in and out of existence. Pretty disappointing, especially when it happens in the middle of play. The thickness of this toy should be able to support triple-A batteries that could probably withstand time better, but I digress. Other than this little frustration, I would still recommend this toy.

The size and relative incognito appearance of this toy makes it perfect for storage. So long as it's not on a coffee or dining table, you'll have no problem finding a place to put your Discretion. Me, I choose the old favorite of the underwear drawer, but before that I stored it on my bookshelf right by my candles and none of my friends or family picked it up or even noticed it. As for cleaning, it's easy to wash the bullet with a bit of soap and warm water, just be very careful when handling the wire and other components. Using a damp, warm wash cloth on the bullet is the best cleaning method for this little toy.

I don't see much point of lubricating this toy, but plastic can handle any type of lubricant, so feel free to use some if you prefer your toys moistened before play.
