When the Moon is in the Seventh House...
If you are into astrology and are looking for a basic vibrator that will get the job done, this one is for you! It isn't the most powerful or the most exciting out there, but the concept and design might suck you in.

I'm a Gemini, through and through, so this toy was on my wish list! I'm not a huge fan of yellow, but I decided to overlook that and keep an open mind. The Astrovibe from Fun Factory is a traditional vibrator, with an abstract design that gives a nod to the astrological sign of Gemini. Fun Factory offers an Astrovibe for each sign, each with it's own unique design and color. No matter what sign you are, the general shape and length of the vibrator is the same.
The Gemini has a length of around 7 1/2", with an insertable length of 6 1/2". It has a gentle conical shape, with two distinct sections. About halfway down the shaft, the diameter increases and then remains constant to the base of the toy. At it's widest point, the diameter of the toy is 1 3/4". The silicone shaft has some bend and flex to it, and it is possible to bend the tip portion of the toy until it folds all the way back to the shaft. The surface is matte, with a bit of drag. There is very little texture to the toy aside from the aesthetic design. Because the shaft is straight with no curve to it at all, it is nearly impossible to reach your g-spot with this toy. I tried my best to angle it or apply enough pressure to make it work, with no success.
I did enjoy this toy for both internal and external use. The gradual increase in diameter gives you a stretching sensation, and the diameter of the shaft is large enough to give a nice sense of fullness. As for clitoral stimulation, the tip provides comfortable pinpoint stimulation, or you could rest the shaft against your clitoris for a broader sensation. The vibrations transfer nicely throughout this toy, so you have a great deal of flexibility regarding use. I'd say this toy is best suited to a beginner,
The astrological representation of Gemini is depicted through the use of a collage of arms and hands, extending in each direction on the shaft. I think it's quite pretty, but the small grooves of the hands and fingers collect lubrication (both natural and bottled) and are difficult to clean. You can clean the Gemini with soap and water or a toy cleaner, paying close attention to cleaning out the grooves and folds of the shaft. You could sterilize the toy by wiping it with a 10% bleach solution. Only water based lubes should be used; any silicone lubes will damage the toy.
The Gemini is made of silicone, except for the cap and control knob which are plastic. The cap, which screws off so you can insert the batteries, is black. I was a bit disappointed that Fun Factory chose to use red for the control knob, as it clashes with the yellow of the shaft itself. Also, the Gemini isn't waterproof, which is disappointing.
Gemini is a multi-speed vibrator. You simply turn the knob to start vibrations, and turning the knob more increases the intensity. The more you turn the knob, the higher the vibration setting. It is easy to operate, but also easy to bump the knob and change the setting accidentally while in use. To turn off the Gemini, all you do is turn the knob in the opposite direction until the toy is off. I would describe this toy as middle of the road, it isn't a powerhouse but it has a kick to it. I will say, it is quite loud. I could easily hear it over the covers, and it can be faintly heard through a closed door. The Gemini runs on two AA batteries, which are not included.
The Gemini Astrovibe comes packaged in a cardboard box and, within that outer box, a plastic form designed to cradle it. There is a sample of Fun Factory lube and a small information booklet as well. The package does take up a bit more room than the toy, so it isn't optimal for storage.

Follow-up commentary

Because of the volume level and lack of curve, this toy doesn't get a lot of love around here. I love the horoscope theme, and wish I loved the toy more. It's just boring...a kinda loud.
