Vibrating Wood is Good (No, Great!) - Video Review
The Treeze Realistic is a beautiful and functional wood vibrator. It’s 1 1/2" diameter offers filling stimulation, and its 8 vibration patterns offer good variety. What makes this unique is the screw-in vibrator, which can be replaced if it ever dies, and is interchangeable with all other Treeze vibrators. It would be nice to have a separate on/off button to avoid cycling through all the patterns.

Pros
Made of wood, replaceable vibrator, beautiful design, good vibrations, reasonably quiet, waterproof.
Cons
Must cycle through all patterns to turn off.
Having recently experienced vibrating glass, I was curious how a vibrating wood product would do. The Treeze Realistic performs well. Realistic refers to the overall shape, which looks something like a wooden penis. The bulbous head and smooth shaft are easy to insert, and the vibration power is nice.
The Realistic comes in a large easy to open clamshell case with staples holding the packaging closed. The vibrator and the storage pouch are visible inside the package, and two AA batteries are included so that you can start using the Realistic right away without going through a battery hunt through your drawers . The top tag and back insert contain product information, and a sample lube packet is included.
The Treeze Realistic is not a carved piece of wood – rather, it is formed from a wood and urethane hybrid material. This material is non-porous, non-toxic, phthalates free, and has no coating that can crack or chip. It is also splinter free and waterproof. The wooden sheath is about 1/4" thick. This vibrator has a comfortable weight. It’s heavy, but not too heavy.
This has a lovely pattern and coloring. It resembles a tree’s knothole pattern, and the striped effect is done in subdued colors of dark and light grey, reddish brown, brown, tan and black. It is super smooth to the touch.
What makes the Treeze vibrators different from many other products is the replaceable plastic vibrator, which screws into the wooden sheath. If the vibrator ever dies, it can be unscrewed from the wood and replaced with another. In addition, all vibrators in the Treeze line have interchangeable vibrators, so if you have more than one and a vibrator dies you can replace it with another you have while waiting for a replacement.
The Treeze Realistic is 9” long, with 7” insertable. The mushroom-shaped head is about 1 1/2” long, and widens to 1 1/2" wide before narrowing above the shaft. The smooth shaft is about 4 1/4" long with a 1 1/2” diameter. The shaft narrows before the bottom, where two bulges, each about 1/2" wide and 3/4" apart complete the design.
The plastic base is about 1 1/2" long. Unscrewing the base allows 2 AA batteries to be inserted. There is a paper inside the battery compartment that shows the direction for the batteries. The batteries may fit a little snugly, but a gentle tap in your hand will free them.
The Treeze Realistic is operated by a single push button on the bottom of the base. Pressing it produces the following vibration patterns:
- High steady vibration
- Medium steady vibration
- Low steady vibration
- Fast high pulses for 10 seconds, then low steady vibration, followed by medium steady vibration
- 5 long pulses, followed by 6 shorter faster pulses, followed by about 20 really short pulses, then repeating
- High steady vibration for 8 seconds, medium steady vibration for 8 sec, low steady vibrations for 8 sec, then cycling back through medium and high
- 3 short fast pulses followed by 1 long pulse, repeated 3 times, then 3 short and fast pulses followed by 3 long pulses
- 5 seconds of fast short pulses followed by 15 seconds of high steady vibration before repeating
- off
The vibrations change pitch, especially in the first 3 modes, and make it seem as if the Realistic is humming. They are concentrated mostly in the tip, but can be felt up and down the shaft. Make sure the vibrator is firmly screwed in to the sheath, or this vibrator will be louder than a chainsaw. If screwed in tightly, the Treeze Realistic is surprisingly quiet. Don’t worry about getting it in too tightly. If the vibrator needs to be replaced, a pair of needle nose pliers can be used to turn the vibrator and unscrew it.
The Treeze Realistic is easy to care for. It should be cleaned with soap and warm water before and after each use, and stored in its protective bag. Both water-based and silicone lubricants are safe to use with this vibrator. This comes with a sample pack of Wet Original Gel Body Glide lubricant, which is water based and non-staining.
The Realistic comes with one of Don Wand’s lovely drawstring storage bags. The bag for the Realistic is a light tan in color, and it is heavily padded for maximum protection.

Experience
When I pulled this out of the package, I was struck by the smoothness and pattern. It is simply lovely. I also have the Treeze bubble plug in this same pattern, and they make a lovely matching pair.
I had a bit of trouble unscrewing the vibrator at first, but a pair of needle nosed pliers got it out without too much trouble. You shouldn’t need to unscrew it unless it dies, though. You'll also want to make sure it's well seated and the battery compartment tightly closed to use this in the tub.
This is a fairly quiet vibrator, although it’s terribly loud the vibrator isn’t screwed in tightly into the wood sleeve. I found that Giving it an extra twist seated the vibrator in firmly and reduced the noise amazingly.
The vibrations aren’t the strongest I’ve felt, but they do transmit nicely from the tip. The tip is great when used to stimulate the clitoris. This vibrator works well to thrust, although it can get a bit slippery from lube. It doesn’t take much lube at all to make this glide in and out.
My husband found this easy to hold on to with his hand around the bottom two rings, as long as he didn't get any lube underneath. Gripping it this way also made it less likely for him to hit the power button by mistake.

Follow-up commentary

I still enjoy this vibrator quite a bit. I love how smooth this feels, and it's so nice to look at. Because of its size and thickness, this has turned out to be a great one to use in the channel of the Liberator Wing, and it's strong enough to vibrate it nicely, although it's louder than normal. It's a good option when I don't want to drag out a corded toy for the channel.
The vibrator inside the wooden sleeve has stayed firmly seated, which keeps this one running relatively quietly. I haven't noticed it working its way out during use - the only time I check it is when I unscrew the base to change the batteries. Even then it hasn't come loose very much and it just takes a twist to tighten it completely.
