Think Dinky

An excellent first vibrator, the not-so-dinky Dinky Digger does not fail to deliver moderately strong, pinpoint vibrations with an easy to control dial. It's a little annoying to clean, however, and the battery case can be a struggle. A great toy otherwise.

Use

The Dinky Digger is a vibrator. It makes no bones about the fact that it's a vibrator, and a well constructed one at that. The vibrating mechanism is in the "head" of the vibe, putting the vibrations exactly where you want it to be, be it your clit, your vulva, or your G-spot. It is also easily insertable, even at it's impressive girth, and the upwards curved nose is excellent for reaching your G-spot. The varying speeds are fantastic. Given the rigidity of this vibe, I believe the best position to use it would be on your back. In short, the Dinky Digger is designed to vibrate on point, wherever that point may be, and make you have excellent orgasms.

Material / Texture

The vibrator is constructed of super-soft silicone and plastic. The body is covered in this velvety silicone and is textured by way of the adorable mole that the Digger is molded to be. What I really love about this vibe is show cushion-y the silicone is. It gives just enough to make up for the fact that there is a hard plastic core. The vibe has no scent at all, which is rather pleasing.

The ridges and valleys in the vibe are very pleasurable on the outer part of my vagina and vulva. It feels incredible! The base of the vibe has lots of ridges to pleasure the outer part of the vagina, which it does so wonderfully.

Design / Shape / Size

The design is excellent for on-point vibrations, with the motor situated in the "head" of the vibe. It doesn't disappoint in this area, as all of the vibrations culminate in the nose. The vibrations are not lost in the pillowy silicone at all. The curved nose can also be used for g-spot fun, delivering vibrations and pressure exactly where you want it.

The controls are situated on a dial that faces up instead of being placed on the very end. Because of this, the vibe is very easy to control and very sensitive to the turning of said control dial, which is great when you need just a touch less, or a touch more, power to rocket you to orgasm. The dial also has a raised "star" in the middle, which is great when your fingers are all slippery with lube, or you can't see because your eyes are rolled back into your head from sheer pleasure. ;)

The girth of the vibe tends to be an issue though, for someone like me who is not fond of bigger toys. The Dinky Digger is by no means dinky. The diameter at the head is an inch, but towards the base it is easily larger. Given that the core of the vibrator is hard, unforgiving plastic, it can be difficult to insert if you are not entirely aroused and lubricated. A drop of water-based lube helps with this, but it doesn't always help.

Of course, it is worth mentioning the design molded onto the vibrator. That of a cute little mole bearing a flower just for you. :D This smiling creature is a departure from the penis-parodies seen in many other vibes. The design is a refreshing departure from that and makes masturbating a little more playful, and less embarrassing.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The vibrator is a multi-speed piece. It goes from a gentle rumble to a gasp-inducing hum. The dial that controls the vibrations rotates 180 degrees, with a shut-off point at both low and high, which can be frustrating when you twist the dial for that extra oomph and the vibrator turns OFF. It's a fairly quiet toy, though not as quiet as some other vibrators in this toy's category, and I've had to put a pillow over my crotch to muffle the noise when I had to be extra quiet.

The battery-case, however, it a bitch. To get the case open, you have to press in both side of the vibe just beneath the control dial and slide the batteries out. I have tiny, not-so-strong hands and I have a hell of a time getting the battery case open. I found that this is common with Fun Factory vibes. I managed to get the case open by pressing one side to the edge of a counter while firmly pushing on the other side, and I managed to get the case open. The interior doesn't have a guide by which you know how to insert the required AA batteries, so it takes a little trial and error to get them in properly.

The lovely thing about this vibrator is the motor is in the tip, and the vibrations concentrate in the little mole's nose. It's also "splash-proof" (as said on the box of the vibe," which means it's safe to use in the shower, but not to submerge so it's probably not the best idea to put this baby in the dishwasher. Having used the Digger in the shower, I give it's performance two thumbs up!

Care and Maintenance

Like most silicone toys, a quick scrub with soap and water is good for this toy, with one exception. The design, with it's multiple valleys and ridges, trap fluids like nothing else. A once over with soapy hands might not be enough to get it all out, so it might be prudent to use a soft toothbrush to clean this vibe, or you could just cover it with a condom. :) It tends to collect lint so a quick wash before use is advisable. Perhaps storing it in a satin bag would take care of the lint issue. As it is made of silicone, do not use this toy with silicone lube as it will degrade the material. Your favorite water-based lube will easily suffice.

Packaging

The Dinky Digger came in a plain box, enclosed in molded plastic. It was simple to get open and out of the packaging, but it was nothing spectacular. It came with a set of instructions (in multiple languages) and a packet of Fun Factory's "Toy Fluid," which is water-based lube. It was a very nice touch!

Experience

This was my first "serious" vibrator (if you don't count the ten dollar pocket rocket from the adult novelties store at the mall). It was one of the first things to help me learn about myself, and it is an excellent beginner's toy. My personal toy is about five years old now, and going strong. The motor is no less strong than when I got it for the first time. It served me well through my time in the dormitories. It's a pretty hardy toy, and well constructed, something Fun Factory is great for. In comparison to other toys I now have, the vibrations are not as strong as I had thought they were.
