The Sweet Sting of the Scorpion's Tail
The Scorpio, part of the Astrovibes line by Fun factory is a fine example of workmanship and is just a great traditional vibrator. The dial base makes it possible to fully customize the speed of vibration to suit your every need. This isn't the most exciting or innovative vibrator around but it is a good, solid workhorse with some fun de"tailing".

Pros
High quality silicone, beautiful detailing, strong vibrations that are easily felt.
Cons
Might be intimidating to newer users.
The Astrovibes line by Fun Factory is a great way to graphically answer the question, "What's your sign?" Made of 100% food grade silicone it is phthalates free, hypo-allergenic, non-porous and latex free. This vibe is firm enough to please the pressure hungry "G" spot and soft enough not to cause painful bruising during moderate thrusting. The shaft of the Scorpio is flexible enough to nearly bend in half, though it won't retain the bend making it great for working those PC muscles and reaching all those hard to reach pleasure points.
The Scorpio is molded to look like an actual scorpion tail. This is a large vibe and the detailing adds some unique texture that is easily felt when slowly rotated inside the vagina and the vibrations are strong and carried right along the shaft to the tip of the toy. They are ever so slightly stronger near the base of the toy where the bullet is located but this is still a wonderful toy for pin point clitoral stimulation. The vibrator is dial based and the speeds graduate slowly to allow for customization. The dial is firm rather than being easily turned making it less likely to change speeds during play which can be jarring and unpleasant.
The red, molded silicone is matte finished which provides quite a bit of drag making it advisable to use a generous dollop of your favorite water based lube. Don't use silicone since it could interact with your new friend leaving it sticky and weirdly shaped! On the same note be sure to store your Scorpio separately from other silicone toys in a cool, dry, lint free area, out of direct sunlight.
Weighing in at 10.5 oz this is a substantial toy that is weighty enough to make it comfortable to use during masturbation without being too heavy on the wrists and hands. It is 7 3/4" long and almost 100% insertable which means there is plenty of room to hold on to. The end of the toy is rounded and tapered minimizing the risk of painful thrusting but the silicone is still fairly firm and this is a long toy; care should be taken not to thrust too vigorously or deeply to prevent bruising. The toy has a circumference of 5 1/2" near the base of the toy where it bulges slightly and tapers to a still fairly substantial 3 1/4", this is no lightweight, slimline toy. If you normally prefer toys that are slender this one might take some working up to, but for size queens like myself this is a dream.
The dial twists off to expose the battery compartment. The Scorpio takes 2 AA batteries and I couldn't find placement instructions either on the toy or on the packaging. After some experimentation I learned that one battery should be positive side down and the other positive side up. I didn't notice any drop off of power as long as the batteries were placed this way regardless of which one was placed in first. If they are placed both the same direction the toy will not work. This is not a waterproof toy.
This is a large substantial toy but it doesn't have a flared base or a "stop" to prevent the toy from being pulled too deeply inside by the peristaltic action of the bowel. Though this toy is non-porous, if you plan to share it during play a condom will prevent any nasties from being passed around.
Being non-porous makes this toy a dream to clean, some warm water and mild non-irritating soap followed by a spritz of anti-bacterial toy cleaner will keep it sparkling. A rub down with a 10% bleach solution will also keep your toy safe enough to eat off of...wouldn't that be a conversation starter at your next dinner party? You could carefully pour boiling water over the toy or dip the toy in some rapidly boiling water if care is taken to keep the battery compartment dry.
The toy arrives in the signature Fun Factory cardboard box with magnetic flaps that allows you to see the toy nestled in its clear molded plastic form. The box is very informative and printed in several languages, though there were no instructions for care and upkeep of the toy or how to insert the batteries. This toy could easily be stored in its original packaging and it will hold up to some rough handling. It's fairly discreet when inside the packaging and could travel in a suitcase without raising any eyebrows. The toy itself does scream vibrator so it's not going to be one that you could leave out on a bedside table or display like a objet d'art, though if you do I'd love to come over and visit your house!

Follow-up commentary

This still has pride of bedside table place! The toy may "only" be a traditional vibrator but it is just perfectly sized for thrusting. The textures are amazing and the toy is easy to keep clean. It still looks as amazing as the day I opened the package. The vibrator is still working like a champ but that's what I have come to expect from a Fun Factory toy!
