Use

First, let me say this was the first vibrator my wife ever really used, and she was VERY pleasantly surprised. About ten years ago she had a negative experience with one and became skeptical and somewhat put off by them in general ever since. After hearing her story, I figured she was missing out on what sounded like a lot of fun, so I decided to get her this little "gem." It was a great first choice and she loved it!

The Jenna's Velvet Jewels vibrator is small, pretty, and anything but intimidating, and therefore a great choice for first timers, newbies, and anyone else who might be a little unsure about what they might like. It's a great choice for clitoral stimulation and precise implementation, so it can hit most spots just right. It excelled at external use and did okay internally. Its size limits it to shallow penetration, however, it's great for teasing and getting your partner ready!

Material / Texture

The Jenna's Velvet Jewels vibrator is made out of a soft, smooth, velvety plastic and lists itself as being phthalates free, hypo-allergenic, and latex free. The toy is nearly odorless and has a slight plastic-y smell if your nose gets really close to it (which, I admit, happens every once in a while during couples-play).

Design / Shape / Size

The Jenna's Velvet Jewels vibrator is rigid and has a nice, curvaceous bulb at its business end. It comes in three colors (purple, pink, and black) and has two rows of cute "gems" on its twist-control base.

My wife and I found this toy to be very good at stimulating very specific parts of her when we used the tip, or somewhat larger parts of her when using its entire length. The twist-control base was simple to use, and the little jewels provided extra grip for when things got slippery. Its shape made it easy to insert inside of her and stimulate the entry walls of her vagina. The bulbous end also made it easier to get to her g-spot.

As far as its size, it's small. Its entire length is about the size of my index finger, and its thickest part is comparable to (but still a little bit smaller than) the thickness of my thumb. This is what made me choose this vibe in the first place: totally not intimidating and a great choice for beginners. Its small size also makes it great for travel. Even though it's not discreet, it'll fit pretty much anywhere, making it easy to hide.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This vibrator is pretty simple. It has three vibration speeds that vary from gentle/soft (reminding me of the original rumble packs in video game controllers) to a medium intensity. At its highest speed, the vibrator is somewhat audible but is easily stifled by some bed covers or a closed door. Again, this toy seems best suited for beginners due to its gentle power. The vibrations are located mainly in the bulb at the end but can be felt throughout the vibe. The control knob is simple to use but can cause some fumbling as you try to change speeds. This toy is listed as waterproof, but our water excursions have been pretty limited. We've used it just a bit in the shower with no problems but enough to really test it.
    • Discreet sound
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

This toy is really easy to clean, just wash it with some soap and water (best not to submerge it, though, since it's a twist control base). After drying it off, it goes in my wife's dresser drawer until it's time to come out again!
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

Unfortunately, we got this toy quite a while ago and have lost the packaging, so I can't really comment on it, but I think it came in one of those annoying plastic blister packages.

Personal comments

As a final thought, I would say that this vibrator is a great first timer's toy. My wife and I have used it together many times, and I especially love the "attention to detail" it allows me to perform on her body. If you're new to adult toys and don't know what to buy, buy this one!

Experience

We got the toy in the afternoon and that night we decided to try it out! I love going down on my wife, so I figured that would be a great way to start out. After I got her nice and wet, I paused and asked her if she was ready. I could tell she was a little nervous, but she said yes, and we went on. I first made sure to warm it up and get it wet by sucking on it while she watched, then started licking her again. Without turning it on, I stopped licking and replaced my tongue with her new toy, spreading her inner lips with it, then going down each side of her pussy, pressing her outer lips apart. She enjoyed that, so I turned it on. The sound that came out of her told me she instantly regretted all those years she spent not owning a vibrator! I kept going, stimulating her clit, spreading her lips, and rubbing it inside the entrance to her pussy. Each vibration level got her louder and louder until she came, took the toy from me, and said "Thank you." I'd finally gotten her a gift she liked!
Follow-up commentary
This was our very first vibrator, and it was good for that use. Now, however, we've moved on to bigger and stronger vibes and this one just doesn't quite do it anymore. That being said, it still makes for a decent travel vibe and is an excellent beginner's vibe.

    Thank you for the review.

How does it turn on and off and how to you change functions? Is there a button or does dial knob control on/off and functions?

    Keep writing.

@P'Gell: You control the vibration speed and turn it on/off with the dial base... no buttons, just dialing.
