Texture Overload

If you love vibrations, glass toys, and lots of texture, then the Kissa is right up your alley. Combining all these things in a waterproof and aesthetically pleasing package, the Kissa lacks the vibrations that some may crave, but makes up for it with a filling feeling. This is definitely not a toy suited for everybody, but for those it works well for, it will become a staple in your toy bag.

Lots of texture, waterproof, comes with awesome padded storage bag.

Use

The Kissa is an insanely textured glass vibrator. It's also not for beginners. Being made of plastic and glass can make the Kissa feel a lot thicker than it actually is, since it will have no real give to it. The best use of this toy is for feeling the wonderful texture when inserted vaginally, but you can also use it to stimulate the clit, nipples, or anal opening (make sure to clean thoroughly before switching back, and never insert it anally). If you're good with pressure you could also use the nubby end of the Kissa to massage small knots out of the back and shoulders.

Material / Texture

The interior of the Kissa is made of plastic, which houses the vibrations. The exterior is a hardy tempered glass known as Pyrex. A very nice thing about tempered glass is that it is harder to break than regular glass, and if you do manage to break it, it will generally break in larger pieces, making cleanup less dangerous. Another very nice thing about the glass is that it is non porous, hypo-allergenic, and free of latex and phthalates. There's no smell and no taste.

The basic texture of the glass is very hard and smooth to the touch. Glass lends itself well to creating all sorts of neat designs, patterns, and other raised textures. The Kissa has a very nubby head with a swirled shaft.

The texture is definitely not for beginners. Because what you're feeling is made of glass, which is pretty unforgiving, those who aren't sure they like any kind of 'extreme' texture will probably want to steer clear.

Design / Shape / Size

The Kissa is 6" long from end to end, with just under 5" being insertable. The untextured parts measure about 4" around, the shaft including swirls is 4 1/2" around, and the head has an impressive 5" circumference. Unless you know you like larger toys and lots of texture, you'll want to start somewhere else.

The interior is a red metallicy looking plastic that is visible through the clear glass, and almost has a pink hue to it. The battery cap is a bit more on the pink side as well, and looks just lighter than the rest of the toy.

Since the Kissa isn't the biggest toy on the market by any means, it can easily be stuffed into a drawer or something like that, but it isn't hard to figure out what its intended purpose is if, so keep this in mind if you have prying eyes.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The Kissa has 3 levels of vibration that seem to emanate from where the head meets the shaft, although the vibrations travel very well through the glass. The vibrations are somewhere between high and low pitched, with more of a deep thrum than a buzzy whine.

The vibrations are controlled by a push button at the base of the toy. Press the button once to go to the next vibration level until you cycle through to off. While the vibrations are very easy to turn on and cycle through, if you were in the heat of the moment on the highest setting, it would be rather difficult to accidentally turn it off.

Level 1 is pretty quiet, and sounds a lot more powerful than it is. I would have the door shut for added precaution.

Level 2 is a bit louder, and a bit more powerful. Being held in your hand, one might be able to hear it through a closed door if they were listening for it. The vibrations are enough to start making my fingers tingle and go numb. I would turn on the TV or some music.

Level 3 is the loudest and most powerful setting, although some might find it to not be quite powerful enough. My fingers definitely start to lose feeling while holding the shaft, and I would be under the blankets at this point with the TV or radio turned up and the door shut.

The vibrations overall aren't the strongest out there, but should be enough for most to get their kicks.

I have submerged the Kissa with absolutely zero problems whatsoever, and it has survived numerous trips into the shower as well.

Care and Maintenance

Because of the material, you have a wider range of options for cleaning the Kissa. You can wash with warm water and soap, spray down with a toy cleaner, or use a 10% bleach solution. If you're the only one using it, bleaching isn't really necessary. I find that the texture on the toy makes cleaning a bit more difficult, so I would avoid just spraying and wiping, use the soap and water and make sure you really get into all those grooves.

You can use any body safe lube you want with the Kissa.

Kissa runs on 1 AA battery that should be removed between uses to prevent corrosion.

Take care to store in something padded. The thick velvet-like storage pouch that should come with yours is good enough unless you keep your toys somewhere they bounce around a lot. Just toss it in and close the drawstring. If you need more protection, finish by wrapping a T-shirt or towel around the pouch.

Packaging

The packaging was a plastic bag that contained the Kissa as well as its black storage pouch. It was sealed at the top with a cardboard foldover. The front just says that the Kissa is from Eden Fantasys and is a sensual glass vibrator. The back tells you that it's body safe tempered glass, has 3 vibration speeds, is textured for more pleasure, waterproof, and great for temperature play. It also lists directions for use, which is to twist the cap tightly before use, and for care. It even gives you a diagram for which way to insert the battery, which is always helpful.

Personal comments

The Kissa lacks a flared base; please avoid using this anally. It might feel great at first, but explaining it to the cute ER doc won't.

Being made of glass, the Kissa is also great for temperature play. I wouldn't go too extreme with it, but letting it sit in a bowl of warm or cool water before play would be the way to go.

Experience

I'm torn on how much I really do like this toy. I usually prefer stronger vibrations, so while these were 'enough', they weren't quite enough at the same time. The swirls on the shaft felt amazingly awesome in my vagina and on my clit, but the head of the toy just had too much texture for me. Which really sucked because I thought the idea of the Kissa was absolutely fantastic. I mean, a glass toy that vibrates. It really should have been the best of everything.

The 3 levels of vibrations could have been stronger for me, but I think that if the glass weren't there and this were just a plastic toy, the vibrations would be much stronger. Not really anybody's fault, and the vibrations were enough to get me off.

For me this worked best vaginally. I didn't like it on my clit very much, because my clit went numb really fast, and the hard texture of the toy made it painful when pressing to try and find some feeling again. Vaginally it was almost too much, but I still enjoyed it.

I'm still torn on it, but for those who really enjoy hard, unforgiving texture with a good amount of girth in a toy that won't make its mission attacking your cervix, make sure to add this to your collection. It's a well made toy that just doesn't work well for everybody.
Follow-up commentary
I still like my Kissa. A lot. There's just so many unique sensations to experience. Unfortunately the Kissa is pretty unique in some aspects, and the hard glass still makes this not my first choice unless I'm in the mood for something unforgiving. Otherwise, I do still have to warm up to it sometimes, as the head on the Kissa always seems bigger than I last remembered it to be.

Thanks for the comment on the girth - it doesn't seem that much in the pictures, but upon further inspection it may be too large for me.

    Well thank you for reading

I actually didn't realize just how big it actually was until I saw a video review on it, after I had already bought it. I was really nervous about its girth too, but I'm really glad that you got something useful from my review

Thanks for the review!! I'm supposed to receive this in the mail today/tomorrow!
I am glad that you pointed out that it might not be for everyone, and since I haven't had a glass toy before, I'm sure it will be an interesting experience.

Well please do let me know how you like it, and thanks!
  • Contributor: Fuck it.
I don't think I'll have a problem with the texture. The girth should be interesting. Thanks for the review.
