I really liked Sweet Treat and considering it costs next to nothing, I think it's actually a really great toy with great value. If you're a fan of bullet vibes and want to try something slightly new, Sweet Treat is good for it with its unique design and surprising power.
This is a straight-up bullet vibe designed for clitoral stimulation. It doesn't have a flared base, so it's not appropriate for anal use, but I don't think you'll really be wanting to use Sweet Treat anywhere except where it was designed to be. Because of its length, I suppose it could be vaginally inserted but I don't think you'd get much out of it that way.
I actually got this toy as a free gift and looking at the price tag I wasn't really expecting much from it. Boy was I surprised when I first actually used it! It packs quite a punch for a tiny little thing and the shape is actually really unique for a bullet; the long stem allowed me to sort of keep my fingers out of things and let the vibe do its work without fumbling. I think this is a great quick-and-dirty kind of toy for when you're just looking for getting off without much fuss; it has enough power to get you there.
Sweet Treat is really quiet for a plastic toy; even outside the blankets at full speed it's not very loud. Its small size makes it good for traveling, but make sure you take the batteries out because it doesn't have an on/off switch, only a sliding control, so it can and will go off in a bag (I speak from a slightly embarrassing experience.) But it's small and doesn't quite look immediately like a normal bullet, so it has a slight discretion there.
Sweet Treat is made of body-safe plastic. It's smooth and warms to your body but doesn't start to get hot if you're using it for a long time. Normally I'd expected a plastic bullet to start to get that 'burning plastic' smell after about 20 minutes but Sweet Treat surprised me again and stayed cool.
In terms of touch, it's smooth and has no sharp edges. It's not at all textured, so if you get it slick, normally it might slip from your fingers, but because you're usually holding the stem I found the bulb end can get slippery with fluids and the stem doesn't. It gave me a lot more control over the vibe than I usually see from plastic bullets, so great texture there.
It is plastic, so it tastes like plastic. Nothing exciting on that front.
The plastic is completely rigid, which is why I think inserting it vaginally is probably hit-or-miss for some people. Personally, I prefer an insertable toy to have some give to it; Sweet Treat won't be bending. If you're okay with that, I see no reason why you couldn't insert it.
Sweet Treat has a really unique design with the fluted stem. Normally handling a smooth plastic bullet can be a bit tricky if you tend to get wet quickly or are using any lube. But because you're holding Sweet Treat from higher up, your fingers stay out of it and you can reposition it or add pressure as you like.
My favorite thing about this toy is the sliding control. Instead of levels of power, you can slide smoothly up the scale. I really love to crank up high, then slide it down again just before I climax and then crank it up again to drag it out. It does pack a surprising amount of power in such a small little toy. I like bullets but I wasn't expecting anything special here and ended up really pleased with both the design and performance!
If you've tried other bullets and found their shape to be a bit problematic in terms of handling, try this toy. Its shape solves a lot of the problems people often have with bullets.
You can travel with it, but as I said above, take the batteries out because it has no on/off.
The motor is located in the bulb end, right where you want it for proper clitoral stimulation. The stem also eliminates wrist strain and finger-numbness because of how you can hold it. It's remarkably powerful at the highest setting for its size and I actually found it almost as strong as my Je Joue MiMi.
The controls are straight-up idiot proof: there's a dial you turn up to increase the vibrations and turn down to decrease them. Turning the dial all the way down turns off the vibrator. It's really quiet and small enough to tuck away in a drawer. It runs on two AA batteries but doesn't seem to go through them very fast, so that's a big plus!
Don't get this toy wet! It's not even slightly water-safe. Keep it for dry situations. I would even recommend steering clear of lube for this one because I don't think any part of it is really sealed against moisture.
Sweet Treat is not even slightly water-resistant, so be very, very careful when cleaning it. I recommend wiping it down with a toy cleaning wipe or a little soapy rag and wiping clean. Steer clear of the battery compartment entirely!
It's plastic, so it actually doesn't pick up fuzz or dirt the way my silicone toys do. I wipe it down before each use anyway but more for sanitary reasons than to actually clean anything off it. I store it in a box with my other toys and take the batteries out when I'm not using it because I'd found that extends the battery life somewhat.
I don't think you really need lube for it but if you do use it, try to keep it clear of the battery/control pack. Also, the hinge on the battery pack of mine was really weak and snapped off after a week, so treat the battery pack pretty gently.
Sweet Treat came in a standard plastic bubble packaging, so nothing fancy. It had directions on the package but I didn't really need them seeing as there's only one control. I personally would repackage it if I were giving it as a gift but there's nothing 'porny' on the packaging, so you could give it as-is, but it's still pretty obviously a vibrator. You have to destroy the packaging to get it open, so it has no use as a storage unit.
I have two other bullets, a silver plastic one and a silicone one, and lately I've found myself reaching for Sweet Treat over the other two because the design is just so handy. The stem is such a great design that it makes handling the bullet a breeze. I also love the sliding dial; it feels like winding myself up and down smoothly.
I do wish it were slightly easier to clean safely and that it had a lock of some kind to turn it off and keep it off, but these are pretty minor complaints with it overall.
Sweet Treat really does have more power than I was expecting! I'm not a power-queen by any means but I was expecting this toy to be a teaser, not to get me off. And then it actually DID get me off and pretty damn fast too! It was a great surprise and I put the toy immediately in my box to use again. I use it when I'm looking to do a lot of teasing; power all the way up until I'm almost done, then sliding it way down and teasing my way up again. I love the moment when I crank it all the way up just as I'm climaxing.
This toy is also really quiet; I live alone but I suspect that someone could actually be in the same room as me and not hear the toy at all under the blankets.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it22 days after original review
Sweet treat still does it for me. The shape just doesn't get old. Unfortunately, plastic does and I've had to be a little more choosy about when I use Sweet Treat for fear of burning it out! Overall, I still love this toy.
