Suprisingly Decent Waterproof Vibe

Often with vibrators, you get what you pay for. Every now and then you are able to find a good toy for under $20, and the Little Flower is one of these toys. Two speed settings, an easy control design and the ability to go into the shower are all big perks. While it probably won't be the most powerful vibrator in your collection, this little flower will help your clitoris bloom.

Use

The Little Flower by Shaki Toys is a small push-button clitoral stimulator. It is waterproof, somewhat discreet (only 4 inches long) and has two speeds.

Designed as a clitoral stimulator, the Little Flower also comes with floral designwork on the sides of the vibe, which double as a ridged area for added stimulation.

The easy controls and the water-proof feature makes this a good entry-level vibe for people looking for versatility. The Little Flower will travel well, can be used in the bath/shower, and stows away easily when not in use.

Material / Texture

The vibrator is made of a velvety Plastic which makes for a very versatile toy.

With plastic, you can use water, silicone or oil-based lubricants. For cleanup, soap and water, a good anti-bacterial toy cleaner, or isopropyl alcohol will do the trick. Plastic is non-porous, which means this is an ok toy to share (once properly sterilized, of course).

The velvety texture makes the toy feel softer than you'd think. It doesn't feel like a traditional plastic vibe, which is nice. The added texture from the floral design is not only pretty, but useful in additional clitoral stimulation.
    • Bumpy
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The design of the Little Flower is fairly simplistic. It is a 4" clitoral vibrator with a push-button function on the bottom. Push once to turn it on, and start it at the 'medium' setting. Push again for the higher setting, and push a third time to turn the toy off.

The vibrator measures 4 inches long, with an insertable length of 3". It has a 3/4" diameter and a 2 3/4" circumference. This makes it slimmer and shorter than the average penis, which leads me to believe it's designed for external use only.

The floral designs on the sides give it an artistic look, although the rest of the design is fairly basic. This vibe won't win any aesthetic awards, but function outweighs flair here.
    • Beginner
    • Whimsical / artistic

Functions / Performance / Controls

The functions of the Little Flower make this a nice addition into my toybox. Firstly, it only takes one AA battery! No annoying disc batteries, and AA's are much more convenient than AAA's. One AA lasts about 2-3 hours if you use the toy non-stop. (on the high setting)

The push-button function on the bottom is easy to use, and far away from where any lubricant should be going. I prefer buttons over dials, because twisting a dial when your hands are lubed-up can become difficult (especially with silicone!).

Controls are easy to understand. Click once, and it's on a medium setting. A second click will take you to the higher setting, while a third click will turn the toy off. I would prefer a direct-to-off ability, but at least there isn't 4-5 functions to cycle through...

The vibrating speeds are somewhat impressive, but not amazing. The medium setting is a slow 'meh' which would equate to 1-2 vrooms. The higher setting is a strong 3, maybe a 4 for those with sensitive clits. To find a toy under $20 with multiple settings is nice, but the higher setting is still not as powerful as some of the $10-15 pocket rockets you can find.
    • Discreet sound
    • Long lasting power
    • Multiple settings

Care and Maintenance

Care with this toy is a snap. It is made with non-porous plastic, which means you can use soap and water, an anti-bacterial toy cleaner, or isopropyl alcohol. Because it isn't porous, it is able to be completely sterilized and can be shared with a friend.

Plastic is also compatible with all lubricants, and once cleaned, can simply be tossed into your toy storage area. No need to pouches or extra care.

For storage, this plastic wonder doesn't pick up dust and dirt as easily as a silicone toy can. Some toys needs to be re-cleaned before use, but this toy (at most) will only need a quick brush-off.

There is low-maintenance, and then there are toys like this. It can't get any easier!
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store
    • Low maintenance

Personal comments

When I first pulled the toy out of the box, I admired the design. Most clitoral stimulators have ridges or grooves on the tip only. This toy has a smooth tip, but ridges along the sides (in an attractive floral pattern). Whether you like it smooth or bumpy, this toy will do the trick. If you like switching from texture to no texture, you can do it easily without switching 'heads' (like some pocket rockets).

The one downside to this product was getting it to initially start. I inserted the battery as indicated. It wouldn't start. I took it out, put it back in. Nothing. I switched the positive and negative sides. Nothing. I tried a new battery (maybe the old one was a dud??), still nothing. Finally, I gave it a couple of whacks and the vibrations slowly started.

Maybe the vibrator gummed up in transit? I worry about long-term use on this toy now. Will it gum up again in a few weeks/months? Will this toy last, or eventually lock up and die? Time will tell...
Follow-up commentary
Died after 2 weeks, and replacing the batteries didn't help. Yes, it was a freebie, but I expected more...

The little flower bloomed then shriveled... and died.

@Femme: This was the freebie from last week. It's a great toy, but had some problems at the start. Now that they're fixed, it's working just fine!
