Sucralose in my snatch?

This tingling gel works, but I was quite frankly really pissed when it arrived--it was red and had a whole slew of ingredients I never signed up for. Not cool! I loved the cooling feeling, but being scared of yeast infections because this contains sucralose is not something I want to worry about when I'm having sex.

Use

Tingle Gel by Cal Exotics is a water-based lubricant meant to produce tingling sensations for the user. I really love tingling lubes, and this one has a great cost, so I figured there was nothing to lose. Upon receiving the package, I was surprised to see that my gel is red, not green. I also was annoyed to read the ingredients list.

The product page says Tingle Gel contains this: Arginine HCL and American and Amazon Ginseng

I was excited to see something so cheap that contained so few ingredients. I had no idea how ginseng would make me feel tingly, but I didn't really think much about it. When I received my red tingle gel, it had this ingredients list:

Water, glycerin, corynanthe yohimbe bark extract, panax quinquefolium (American Ginseng), lepidum mayenil (Amazon Ginseng), Arginine HCL, L-Dopa, Aegopodium podagraria (horny goat weed), centilla asiatica (gotu kola), sucralose, carbomer, potassium sorbate, methylparaben, propylparaben, artificial flavor, Blue 1, Yellow 5

Needless to say, I was irritated. Sucralose? Oh yeah, can't wait to stick Splenda up my cooch! I also don't understand why the coloring was necessary. Why is it red? That's not even minty looking. That's just silly. I also didn't sign up for parabens and glycerin. Now, I've used lube with it before, but I like a warning beforehand.

Texture / Consistency / Thickness / Viscosity

The texture of this is like a gel, not like a regular lubricant. It doesn't feel sticky or greasy. It feels like other gel-like lubes I have used in the past. In use, it feels like a thicker lubricant like Maximus or the KY tingling jelly. It didn't drip all over. It stayed where we wanted it to.

My partner said it was hard to squeeze out of the bottle, so once it gets used more (if it gets used more) I imagine it will become more difficult to get out. When it's mostly gone, it will probably need to be turned upside down or onto its side to allow for easy pouring.

Taste / Aroma

Tingle Gel smells and tastes like mint, as it is supposed to. It tastes pretty good, actually. My partner and I each tried a little on the tips of our tongues when we opened it. We don't use lube during oral, but figured since it was edible we'd try it for the sake of the review. I love mint, so I liked it. My partner liked it too. It smells like peppermint extract. It's pretty strong, actually, in its flavor and scent, so if you hate mint, you probably should not get this.

Performance

This product lasted a while. I will say that although I'm mad about the ingredients list, it did do its job. I climaxed twice during intercourse while my partner was rubbing my clit with this, enjoyed the cool feeling (though it's still not my KY tingling jelly), and had a perfectly good time. However, the entire time I was nervous because there is sucralose in this stuff. Forget glycerin, this stuff has what is essentially Splenda.

Moving on from how this stuff has sweetener in it, I did like how the product worked, but I showered afterward to wash it all off because I was scared of getting an infection. It cleaned up well as most water based lubes do.

Packaging

It is not discreet at all! The gel bottle itself looks like this:

It is a 2.4 fl oz/71mL bottle. Pretty travel friendly. The bottle won't leak and it's a small size. If eventually I use it all, I might wash out the bottle to put lubes with more annoying, leaky packages into this one. The bottle is recyclable. It's a number 1. Here is a size comparison:

    • Can be opened with one hand
    • Does not leak

Special Features

Tingle Gel, like its name indicates, provides tingling sensations. However, I found it to be more of a cooling gel. I really like cooling lubes, but if you don't, you won't like this. It's mint though, so it's not really supposed to be warm. However, menthol is not in this, so if you are allergic to menthol, you could probably use this. It does work, though the first time we applied it, I didn't feel very much. Perhaps it just took a while to get going. After several minutes of that, I asked my partner to get more. It lasted for me about 7-10 minutes after we reapplied it. I think it could have lasted longer, but I had already had two climaxes, so my partner then also finished and I showered and cleaned it off, worried about the sucralose. I think if I had let it go it might have lasted another 5-10 minutes. In comparison to other tingling and cooling lubes I have used, this works second best, after the KY tingling jelly I swear by. I've been trying to find a cooling or tingling lube available on Eden for a while, and it hasn't worked out so well yet.

Experience

I was really peeved after receiving this product. There is unnecessary dye in it that I had no idea would be there considering the stock photo. The ingredients list featured online has 3 ingredients and what I received has way more than that. It worked, but I'm too scared of the sucralose to ever want to get this again. I'm going to leave it in my drawer for times when my KY tingling jelly runs out, and other than that, I won't use it. It's not worth it to me, and at this cost, especially since I got it 20% off during a lube sale, I really don't count it as a huge loss. I do wish I could have been warned though, because I never would have bought it. Because of that, even though the cooling effect works well, I'm knocking it to 3 stars.
