A reasonably low price, safer ingredients than competitors, and a long lasting effect make this arousal gel an excellent compliment to any play session. Although this product may not work as effectively for everyone, its definitely worth trying.

Pros
Acts quickly, lasts over 15 minutes, safer ingredients
"Start it up accelerator gel" does exactly what the name states and your clitoris will thank you for it.. well most the time. This product by California Exotic uses the same main active ingredient as many other arousal gels: propylene glycol. This substance works by bringing more blood into and thus sensitizing the area it contacts. There's definitely personal preference for which arousal gels work best for each individual, but on average about 75% of the women who give this product a go will enjoy a heightened experience. More intense sensations, quicker orgasm time, and tingling / warming feelings are a couple sensations to expect. The tingling warming is caused by the methanol present in the gel, and produces a sensation similar to other products that contain it such as Icey Hot or Tiger Balm. The gel can be used on other skin surfaces with varying effects depending on the sensitivity of the individual. Do not use this product internally.
The consistency of the gel is very similar to that of a good water based lubricant. It is slippery and stays slick over time. One pump of the gel is sufficient for most and the ingredients act quickly, usually in about 15-45 seconds. After letting the gel set in for this small amount of time, feel free to use any other lubricants as the gel will continue to work unabated for 15-20 minutes.
Although being vegan in nature, this product isn't meant for internal consumption. Plus it'll make your mouth tingly. There isn't any noticeable aroma associated with the gel.
Having tried both the popular "KY intense" and this product, I'm quite pleased with the results observed in the bedroom. The "Start it up gel" produced stronger sensations for longer periods of time than its competitor. The price of the California Exotic product is also substantially lower than KY's version as well. However, again it must be stressed that each individual may prefer one over the other for effectiveness.
The container is very simple as displayed in the picture and stands only about 4 inches tall. The design and text are very discrete, with the only giveaway about its purpose being the California Exotic logo on the back.
I personally love the results I've observed from this product during play, especially for its price. While I don't completely agree that the ingredients are truly vegan, they're mostly harmless in the quantities present in the gel. There has been some debate about the safety of propyelen glycol, however current studies show that over 1 g/L needs to be absorbed in short period of time to have harmful effects. Basically don't take shots of this and you'll be okay. I also like this product over "KY intense" due to the fact that it doesn't contain niacin.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it28 days after original review
Although we don't use Start It Up every time we play, it's still our personal favorite as far as female sensitizing gels go. We don't have any negative effects to report after prolonged usage or loss of effectiveness.

Thank you for your review! Seems like an interesting buy, not sure I'd be one of the lucky ones it would work for, but who knows I might give it a try!
Were there any allergy concerns with this product? I didn't see an ingredients list (aside from the main ingredient) so I am always wary of products that you put down there, if there is something in it that my lady bits might not appreciate lol.
I'm glad that it worked for you and you didn't have any negative reactions to that tricky main ingredient!

Just wondering… why the objection to niacin (vitamin B3) in KY?
NightKat
Allergies to the listed ingredients are fairly rare, so not too many worries there.
The only objection to niacin is a small number of people find that it irritates the skin more than the arousal is worth.
