Slippery When Wet
This glass vibrator is lovely and has a good size and weight, and the vibrator can be removed from the glass sheath and replaced if it ever dies. The bottom button is very easy to push, and can be pressed on accident while using. With so many functions, a dedicated on/off button would have been a nice feature to include. It does come with a wonderful, protective storage pouch to keep it safe when not in use.

Pros
Nice size and shape, replaceable vibrator, throbby vibrations, waterproof, great storage bag.
Cons
Bottom button too easy to push, no dedicated on/off, can be tricky to hold.
The Don Wands Smooth Vibrating Glass vibrator comes in a large clear plastic clam shell that’s easy to open. Visible in the case is the storage bag. Inside the bag are the vibrator and 2 AA batteries. Also in the clam shell is a sample of Wet Platinum Silicone-Based lubricant and a small insert with some information about the toy.
The storage bag is scrumptious, and the same bag I’ve gotten with all of my Don Wands toys to date. It’s lavender, and super plush and padded to protect the vibrator when it’s nestled inside. It’s long enough to totally cover the vibrator, even when the drawstring is pulled closed.
The vibrator’s sheath is a beautiful, deep blue, that looks almost black unless you get it under the right light. It is made of borosilicate glass, which is harder and denser than regular glass. It contains boron, which reduces stress to the glass when it’s heated or cooled. It’s also more resistant to shattering or breaking and if it does break it will snap into large pieces. Care should be taken not to drop it, particularly on to hard surfaces, and it should always be checked for cracks or chips before use.
This vibrator has a nice size and weight. At 9 1/2" long with 6 3/4" insertable, it’s got a length that I like and it’s easy to hold on to. Its diameter is 1 1/2" at its widest, so it’s larger than many glass toys, but not so large that it’s uncomfortable to insert. The tip is shaped to resemble the head of a penis, but other than the light detailing here and the ridge below the head, the glass is smooth. Just a little bit of lubricant makes this gloriously slick.
The battery compartment is accessed by unscrewing the base. Two AA batteries fit inside a green tube which also has a paper with battery direction indicated. The paper and tube should not be removed, as they help dampen the noise of the vibrator when in use.
The coolest thing about this toy is that the vibrator is replaceable (it takes the same replacement as other Don Wands glass and wood vibrators) and can be removed. With the battery cap off, simply twist counterclockwise until the vibrator is released. The vibrator can be used without the glass sheath if desired. When securing the vibrator back into the sheath, make sure to twist it tightly clockwise – if it’s loose, the vibrator will be quite loud. This toy is waterproof and can be used in the shower or tub, but make sure that the battery compartment is tightly closed and the vibrator firmly seated.
This vibrator works well for temperature play, and can be warmed or cooled by placing in either hot or cold water for a few minutes before use. It should never be microwaved or frozen because burns or frostbite could result. It's also waterproof, so you can use it in the tub.
This vibrator has 8 settings, which are controlled by pushing the button on the bottom of the base. The button is a bit easy to push, and it’s possible to change the pattern by mistake when the toy is in use. It doesn’t have a dedicated off button, so you must cycle through all the settings to turn it off, or you can unscrew the base if you need to shut it off fast.
The vibration patterns are:
- High and steady
- Medium and steady
- Low and steady
- Fast pulse, low and steady, medium and steady (7 seconds each)
- 5 long pulses, 6 medium pulses, fast pulses (3 seconds)
- High and steady, low and steady, medium and steady (7 seconds each)
- 3 short, 1 long pulse (3 times), 3 short, 3 long pulses
- Fast pulses (3 seconds), steady vibrations (10 seconds)
Pressing the button again will turn the vibrator off. The vibrations are fairly throbby particularly when it’s not on high, and transmit well through the glass. The strongest vibrations are what I’d consider moderately strong.
This vibrator is non-porous, phthalates-free, and latex free. It’s easy to clean with antibacterial soap and water, or you can use a sex toy cleaner or isopropyl alcohol as well. If the vibrator is removed the glass sheath can be run through the dishwasher, and the vibrator itself can be cleaned with soap and water. Dry the sheath completely before reinserting the vibrator if the pieces are washed separately. Water-based, silicone, and oil-based lubricants are all safe to use. The vibrator should always be stored in its protective pouch when not in use.

Experience
This vibrator is pretty nice. The shape and size are great, and I love the color of the glass. I do wish the vibrations were stronger so I could use this a bit clitorally, but their thuddiness internally makes up for their lack of power, as do the interesting vibration patterns. While I prefer steady vibrations clitorally, I like the different patterns internally. This vibrator has some nice variations which create some pleasant internal sensations and keep things interesting. I do wish that the button wasn’t so easy to push, as I’ve found myself changing patterns unintentionally when using this. I also don't like that you have to cycle through all of the patterns to turn this off - a dedicated on/off button would be appreciated, especially since this has so many functions.
My husband didn't care for this one too much - he found it harder to grip than I did for thrusting, and he tended to thrust into me too hard on occasion. I think he had more trouble than I did with the button: while I could grip the base more to the sides and thrust more gently, he kept hitting it into his palm and changing the setting.
The base sealed well when closed, and I didn't have any problem with water leaking into the battery compartment when I used this in the bath.
I hope the vibrator lasts a long time, but it is nice to know that it can be replaced.
