Simple thing in a bright orange package.
All in all a good basic vibrator, and a great included gift, but advanced toy users or big fans of penetration should probably look elsewhere. For a simple underwater vibe, it works well and gets the job done. Combined with another toy or other stimulation, it can be beyond intense, but by itself, it's a pretty pedestrian workhorse. Not that a toy box doesn't need a good workhorse.

Pros
Simple to use, easy to clean, odorless, not overwhelming.
Cons
Noisy, on the pointy side, too rigid for thrusting.
This is one of my two first toys, so I may be a bit biased. Also coloring my review is the fact that I am hyper-orgasmic, so me not having an orgasm is much harder than having one.
This is a decent beginning vibrator. It's not too thick, the texture is not overwhelming, and it doesn't really require any esoteric toy knowledge. It's really about as simple as you can get: pop in two batteries, twist the knob to the desired vibration level, and go. The Superstar vibe is made of rigid plastic and has a fairly steep point to the tip, so it's really not good for extended thrusting, vigorous thrusting, or much thrusting of any kind. It's more a holding toy—it does feel amazing just being held in place by my kegel muscles. But the one time I tried to do more, I ended up hitting my cervix with the hard, pointy tip. That was definitely not fun.
The pointed end and rigidity are good for clitoral and labial stimulation, though. The ridges provide interesting sensations to the labia as the head presses against the clitoris—though the hardness keeps it from being ideal for grinders. Part of me wonders why this toy isn't shorter, but the length does make it a lot easier to hold.
The Superstar vibe is also waterproof, and has held up quite well in my whirlpool tub. The vibrations mixed with the jets did provide wonderful orgasms, and it was nice to have something that I could use for a bit of penetration while enjoying the jets. It still works just fine, and the batteries have held up quite well. The vibrations are not the most powerful, but they are more than adequate. It's a bit loud, but mostly just sounds like an electric toothbrush. It does rattle if only the head is being used, which is a bit annoying, but it's quieter than my room fan, so I still have my privacy.
Cleanup is a snap, thanks to the material. Just quick soap and water, dry off, and it's done. I have not tried this toy with lube, nor have I tried it with a partner.

Experience
The absolute best use I have found for this vibe is in my whirlpool tub. I get myself a bit worked up before heading to the bathroom, and just slip the vibe in while I'm taking my pre-bath shower. It stays in well, and gradually builds up to several subtle orgasms before the tub is filled. Once I'm lying back in all the hot water, the jets playing over my body, I rub it over my clitoris before moving to face the jets. The water and the vibrator together had me near screaming several times, so it's good my roommates were out of the house.

Thank you for viewing Superstar vibes – traditional vibrator discontinued review page!
I have no idea how it is with lubricants, since I've never used any type of lubricant. I'm supposing it would be safe with anything, since it's plastic.
