I don't ever use the 7 preset modes (who would when you have an almost infinite amount of options when you use it with your iPod?), but the vibrator itself has strong vibration capabilities and can usually get me to climax when I'm patient and into it. It's a little noisy, not that you'll notice over your music, so you might want to consider getting some privacy before using it. The controls aren't the most ergonomic, but the instruction booklet will help you figure out what to do.
