Royal clamps sex toy review
The Royal Clamps are well made, easy to use clamps with a spring and screw closure. However, they lacked the kick I was hoping for.
Published:
Pros
Great packaging; batteries included; minimal assembly.
Cons
Not much power; did not stay on.
The Royal Clamps by California Exotic were my first set of nipple toys. I was quite excited to see if they would add a new dimension to playtime.
Upon arrival, I was initially quite impressed with these clamps. They came packaged nicely in a plastic shell with two sets of batteries for each clamp. Popping the batteries in proved to be no problem, and I quickly moved on to examining the clamp area, which consists of rubber tipped alligator type clips with a small screw inside to allow for pressure adjustment. It was very easy to take the clamps from seeming fairly tight to very loose with just a few turns of the screw. The rubber covers on the tips of the clamps also were a big plus in my mind.
When taking the clamps for a test run, the biggest issue I had was the fact that the clamps wouldn’t stay on even at the tightest setting. The weight of the vibrating motors simply pulled them off.
Sadly, the weight was the majority of what the small motors offered. The vibration seemed fairly strong in my hands but didn’t really transfer up through the clips very well. The screw function of the clips seemed to work well, however, taking the clips from almost completely closed to being held almost all the way open.
The sensation of the clamps was mediocre at best for me. The vibration was almost totally unnoticeable, and the clips themselves applied very little pressure. I personally have smallish nipples, so perhaps these toys might work a bit better if they had something more to grip.
Overall, I give these one vroom and three bees. The noise seemed much more powerful than the vibrations themselves. I rate this toy three stars. They were not for me but could work great for someone else.

The problem with most nipple clamps is how they never stay on for too long, esp. for smaller nips!
-
Indeed! I did try these later on without the rubber covers on the tips but that was just too ouchy for me.
-
Did the vibration cause the clamps to fall off more?
-
Well it certainly didn’t help them stay on! They did slip a bit more while running but they were already fighting a loosing battle. I do think the weight of the motors contributed to the slip factor.

I liked that the tension with the screws were adjustable because I was wondering if they'd be a problem for someone with pierced nipples. But if there's little to no vibration, and they won't stay put, then my curiosity will have to be sated elsewhere.

Indeed. they may work better for you as I have a problem with most clamps due to the fact that mine are on the smallish side. But at least you wouldn't have to worry about them being too tight!
