Rock Star- Gorgeous, not Discreet

The Rockstar Stevie has a great design, but in action it just didn't wow me. Its flat tip and flexible curve are great for G-spotting, it's easy to hold and to use, and it's fairly powerful. But its high, buzzy vibrations and loud whine kind of kill the mood. I like it, but I just don't love it.

Use

The Rockstar Stevie is a G-spot vibrator meant to be used internally, but feels good on the clit as well. I would NOT recommend this for anal use, despite the interesting shape of the handle-- the ball of the handle is smaller in diameter than the body of the vibe, so you could still end up with the entire thing in your ass. This toy works really well for G-spot stimulation, both because of the curve and the broad tip. I didn't enjoy it as much externally, mostly because there's no way to get pinpoint stimulation.
I'd say this is a great toy for anyone female-bodied to use solo, especially if they know they like G-spot stimulation or want to start exploring it. It's not a good idea for P-spot use since it isn't anal safe. You can also use it with a partner, but it wouldn't be my go-to toy just because it's so loud.

Material / Texture

The Rockstar Stevie is a little deceptive-- it looks like two materials, but is really three. The handle and shaft of this vibrator are separated by a raised, textured, silver colored plastic band. The handle, below the band, and shaft, above it, are the same color and look like the same material. However, as soon as you get your hands on this vibrator it becomes apparent that the handle of the vibrator is smooth, hard plastic while the shaft is flexible silicone. I don't mind this-- the shaft is the only part I'll be inserting, and the hard plastic handle is easier to grip. However, it isn't clear in the product photo and came as a surprise.
The shaft of the Rockstar Stevie is extremely smooth, with a seam running along the back from the tip to the silver band that can't be felt at all in use. The silicone has a little bit of a drag, but not much. It also has a slight plastic-y odor that you only notice if it's right under your nose. The plastic handle, though, has no smell at all.
This isn't the right choice if you want texture-- but I really like the simplicity of it.

Design / Shape / Size

I really love the design for this vibrator. It reminded me of something else I'd really wanted to try, but that's out of my price range (Lelo, I'm looking at you). The broad, flat tip is great for G-spot stimulation, though I'm not crazy about it externally. The curve of the shaft is great, and it's flexible enough to curve more if you push on it. This means you can't put really intense pressure on the G-spot, the way you would with a glass dildo-- but I think the trade off is fine, since it means this will work for a wider range of shapes. This has an overall length of 7.5 inches, and the silicone part is 4 inches long, so it's not large by any means but it works for me. The diameter of the broad tip, which is the widest insertable part, is 1.4 inches.
I also like the handle. A lot. It's easy to grip, or to just hook between two fingers. The indents at the very top make it easier to twist and change the vibration strength.
And lastly, there's something about this vibrator I just like the look of. All together the black and silver combo, the sleek lines, the curve and the rounded handle add up to something good.

Functions / Performance / Controls

In this section come the complaints I have about the Rockstar Stevie. Not that it works badly-- far from it. It's great for fast thrusting and really hits the G-spot. But for a few reasons, the performance just doesn't live up to the design.
First of all, it's loud. Really loud. Loud enough that I'm kind of embarrassed to use it in a dorm room. Not loud enough to be heard for miles, but loud enough to be an annoying hum from the other side of a closed door. The box may say "whisper quiet," but in practice it's anything but.
And then there are the vibrations themselves. They're nice and strong, and they cover a good range-- from low to medium/ high. But they're pretty buzzy, especially on the high setting. They feel more like bullet vibrations to me. In other words, between the noise and the type of vibration this toy is just a little too similar to an electric toothbrush.
My last complaint is that this toy just isn't waterproof. It is splashproof, as long as you're very careful to screw the top on all the way. But even then I can see a little gap, so I wouldn't risk submerging it.
On the other hand, the controls themselves are wonderfully simple. To turn it on you twist the dial at the very top of the handle, and keep turning it to go from low to high vibration. To turn it off you twist the dial back the other way. There aren't any patterns, but they aren't really necessary.

Care and Maintenance

The Rockstar Stevie is silicone, so you should use it with water-based rather than silicone-based lube. Its smooth shape makes it very easy to clean with warm water and soap. I store it in a box by my bed.

Packaging

The packaging for this toy was only a disposable plastic box, but it has a really cool tattoo-inspired design, with some of the plastic left transparent to show off the vibe itself. I'm holding onto the box just for the design. On the other hand, there were no instructions included at all. Battery insertion and controls are pretty easy to figure out, but if someone is buying this as a first vibrator some instructions would be nice.
Follow-up commentary
The Rockstar Stevie is an okay vibrator, but I've ended up not using it much because of the noise and the surface-type vibrations. I have others I like better.
