Roae Spells Love....Or Does It?
The Roae is a uniquely shaped rabbit vibrator that is not very versatile due to its lack of flexibility on the clitoral stimulator. It is very ergonomic, fun for partner play and with a 1 1/2" diameter and 7 1/2" overall length, is a good fit for beginners to advanced users alike. Discreet and easily hidden, the Roae will make a great travel companion. Oh, by the way....when you look at the user's guide, Roae is "love" written upside down and backwards.

The packaging for the Zini Roae is perfect for storing your new luxury vibrator. It is a discreet, sturdy, black box that has a magnetic closure on the side. Inside is a clear plastic formed bubble that keeps your Roae clean and safe. Lift the ribbon tab on the side for easy access. Under the platform holding your Roae is the charger, a toy pouch and instruction booklets.
You will need to charge your Zini prior to using it for the first time. This requires about 2 hours for a full charge, do not leave the Zini plugged in over 24 hours. You are able to get around 4 hours of use depending on the vibration levels used. I used my Roae on the highest level for about 3 hours before I needed to recharge. You cannot use the Roae while it is being charged.
You need to remove the travel lock function prior to using your new vibrator. To do this, you must press the minus (-) button down and then press the plus (+) button at the same time until the light flashes green. This can be a bit confusing and may take a couple of tries before you get it right.
Zini has programmed 15 separate vibration patterns into the Roae. I am not going to list them in this review, however, I am going to suggest that you keep the small Easy Guide Manual beside you the first couple times you use it to help figure out the controls. I was a bit overwhelmed at first, but once I got used to the basic controls the rest were pretty easy.
The Roae is a uniquely shaped rabbit style vibrator with two separate motors. There is one motor in the large tip and another motor in the clitoral stimulator. The clitoral stimulator is the tip found under the control panel. These motors are not separately controlled, but are designed to work with each other. The motors have a medium level of power. The Roae is not flexible, so the shape will not work for everyone's anatomy. I could not manage to hit my clitoris with the clitoral stimulator while I had the shaft inserted. I did enjoy G-spot stimulation, but it was not quite targeted or powerful enough for orgasm.
I really enjoyed using this for sensual and erotic teasing during foreplay for me and my husband. His shaft fit nicely along the longest arm of the Roae and the motor on the clitoral stimulator worked well for teasing the head of his penis. This would also work well as an anal stimulator with both internal and external vibrations.
The shaft and stimulation areas are silicone, which is non-porous, easy to clean and rates a 10 on the safety scale. The outer curve of the handle and control panel is ABS plastic. Wash your Roae carefully in warm and soapy water, then rinse thoroughly. Let this air dry to minimize lint attachment. Take care to clean all residue from the groove where the plastic meets the silicone. I have a soft baby toothbrush I use to scrub this gently. Sanitize your Roae with a solution of 10% bleach and water, rubbing alcohol or a good toy cleaner. Even though Zini claims this is waterproof, I am very uncertain about trying this in water and consider it splash-proof.
There were many elements of the Roae that I really liked. I love the butter soft, velvety silicone. The drag against my skin was very pleasing and definitely added to the experience. The ergonomic handle and placement of the control panel was ingeniously designed. The shaft and tip is hard, not flexible, and works perfectly for thrusting and using with applied pressure. Finally, no batteries!!!!
I also have a list of the disappointments I experienced with this vibrator. The shape did not work with my anatomy. The motors are too weak to bring me to orgasm. You cannot use the Roae during charging. There is no function to let you know which vibration pattern you are currently on. Cleaning the ridge between the silicone and plastic is tricky. The shape of the clitoral stimulator needs to be larger and could use a bit of flexibility.
The Roae is a toss up as far as my satisfaction. Was it worth purchasing and would I buy it again? I don't know. I love the Zini Ran, however this one fell short in some very important areas. For those who's bodies fit this vibrator--that could be a different story. Everyone is built differently, just because it did not fit me does not mean it will not work for many others. I would suggest reading a few different reviews and comparing them to figure out if the Roae will work for you.

Follow-up commentary

I really wanted to love this vibrator, I tried hard to like this vibrator but--it is just not going to happen for me. I have had only one orgasm while using this and I can orgasm amazingly easy.
I can see the potential, if the shaft was shorter so the very tip of the handle could reach my clitoris then this might have been a rave review. Do not disregard the Roae on my account, but do be aware that it does not fit everyone and the vibrations are weaker than the Ran.

Very good review. Thanks for all the detail! I have not noticed this toy before. It sounds interesting, but perhaps not worth the money.
