Pretty Pelvic Peanut

The SinFive Emigi is a comfortable, attractive kegel exerciser. It is beautifully designed, and the price is great for those who are on a budget. It is all you need from a kegel exerciser in a discreet, pleasant package. Overall, it is very good for anyone looking for an inexpensive, yet effective, kegel exerciser.

Use

The SinFive Emigi is inserted vaginally and used to strengthen pelvic floor muscles. The muscles have to flex to keep the Emigi from slipping out, thereby giving your muscles a comfortable, but effective workout. The retrieval cord may be irritating for some, but it is very easy to trim to the desired length. This exerciser is not one which stuns with sensation during everyday activity or masturbation, but it does all that it claims to do. While it does not supply much sensation during use, the strengthening of the pelvic floor muscles leads to more frequent and intense orgasms (and who doesn’t want that?).

Stronger pelvic floor muscles also have the more functional benefits of increasing bladder control and helping to restore your muscle tone after childbirth. Strong pelvic floor muscles can greatly benefit those with stress incontinence or uterine prolapse and can also help to prevent these conditions.

The Emigi is easy to use, as the manner of insertion is very similar to that of a tampon. You may want to use a lubricant (water or silicone) to ease the way when inserting or removing this toy. Once inserted, it should rest comfortably in the vagina, with only the retrieval cord remaining outside of the body. You may need to experiment a bit with factors such as how deeply you wear it until you figure out what is most comfortable for you. For removal, you simply grip the retrieval cord and pull the Emigi out, much as you would with a tampon. The cord can be a bit slippery until you get used to it. I sometimes had to press my fingernails into the material a little to get a good enough grip.

As a safety note, this toy is not designed for anal use. There is no flared base to keep it from getting lost, so using this toy anally would likely result in a very embarrassing ER visit.

Material / Texture

The Emigi is made out of WTP. This material covers the entire toy, just in different colors. It is body-safe, non-toxic, non-porous, odorless, and phthalate and latex free. The material also has anti-bacterial properties, which are always nice. In short, this is a safe, quality material to use.

As far as the texture is concerned, it is smooth with a rubber-like grip to it, making it easy to handle. It can catch some lint and/or hair, but it is very easy to pick off or wash away. You don't have to worry about lint getting embedded in the material like with some other materials.

Looking closely at the toy, you can see that there are some seams. I wouldn’t worry about those being felt internally unless you are extremely sensitive to texture (we’re talking Princess and the Pea here). They are barely there, and I personally could not feel them at all.
    • No odor
    • Not porous at all

Design / Shape / Size

The SinFive Emigi is shaped like a peanut, with a retrieval cord attached. It is half white and half raspberry in color, and is very nice to look at. It is about medium-sized in comparison with other exercisers on the market, and the smooth design makes it very comfortable to use.

This product is fairly discreet in its design; I doubt anyone except perhaps those familiar with kegel exercisers would know what it was by looking at it. As a result, I would say it is suitable for travel, although you may want to keep it buried under some clothes so that no one can hear the weighted balls rolling around in it.

It is 6 ¼” in length (this includes the length of the retrieval cord) with an insertable length of 2 ½”. The toy weighs 3.4 oz, and has a circumference of 3 ¾”, with a diameter of 1 ¼”. Overall, I’d say it’s a great size, whether for beginners or advanced users. If you prefer the added challenge of small, heavy exercisers, I’d skip this one.

Performance

Speaking as a beginner, Emigi is very easy to use, and not at all intimidating. It is very comfortable to wear, and is suited to being worn all day (that is, if you have the strength and muscle endurance to do so). While you can hear the weighted balls moving around when you are holding the Emigi, they cannot be heard during use. You do not have to worry about anyone hearing this toy while you are wearing it.

If you can insert a tampon, you should have no trouble with the Emigi, as the principle is very similar. You may want to use a bit of lubricant for insertion and removal if you are especially small or do not produce much natural lubrication. Apart from that, you can just slip it in and go about your day normally while also strengthening your pelvic floor muscles.

Care and Maintenance

This product is relatively low-maintenance: simply wash with mild soap and warm water, then allow it to air dry before shutting it away somewhere.

I personally store this toy in the packaging it came in. This works well for me, but if you happen to have a small toy-storage pouch, you could also use that. As a general rule of thumb, I do not store any of my toys together without some sort of barrier between them (a baggie, pouch, or box works), but I could not find anything saying that this material is damaged by contact with other toys.

When choosing a lubricant for this product, you must avoid oil-based lube. Water and silicone lubricants are safe.

Packaging

The packaging for this product is a small, cardboard container with a plastic window on the front to display the product. I really enjoy the simplistic design of the packaging, as well as its ability to be used for storage. Anyone who reads the package will know exactly what this product is for, and there is a brief description of its purpose on the front and instructions for use on the back.

Personal comments

The only time I had any trouble with using the Emigi was when I over-estimated my abilities and wore it while walking around the zoo for several hours. It never slipped out completely, but there were several instances when I worried it would.

Experience

I have really enjoyed my experience with the SinFive Emigi. It is pretty, comfortable, and easy to use. It’s also fun to look at it as a challenge, working gradually to be able to lengthen your pelvic floor workouts. I definitely see myself using this toy frequently, as it is so simple. My only complaint is that I was hoping for a product that provided stimulation in addition to strengthening, and I didn’t get it from the SinFive Emigi. When used only for exercise, it is a great product. Use it regularly, and your body and your partners will thank you.
