The Sin 5 Akmeo was my first foray into higher priced vibrators and I bought it when I decided that I was worth upgrading away from jelly and rubber toys. I had just discovered my G spot and the curve on this toy looked exciting. The problem was I had yet to discover the joy that slowing down and enjoying patterns could bring. I wanted to buzz and get off! This was probably why I hadn't discovered my G spot until the conversations here on EF!

The Akmeo is covered in a velvety silicone that has an anti-bacterial property that will ease troubled minds. It is also made of a food grade silicone that is hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous, and phthalates free. The only other material on this toy is the hard plastic base that houses the battery casing, and the white ring that separates the silicone and the plastic. The Akmeo is waterproof, and powerful yet quiet.

The toy measures 8 inches in total with 6.5 of those inches being insertable. It is quite a girthy toy with a 5 inch circumference. It looks bigger possibly because of it's simple, blocky design. The end of the toy tapers to a mere 2.5 inches and curls for ease in finding that elusive G spot. This is a firm toy with little to no give which makes applying quite a lot of pressure to the G spot easy. It weighs in at just over 1 pound making it quite hefty. It won't cause undue wrist strain but you will definitely know it's there.

The vibrations offered by this toy are inbetween rumbly and buzzy. They are felt easily on the surface of the toy but also throb from deeper inside. Sort of the best of both worlds. The controls are a simple + and - raised surface in the silicone. No way for water to leak in here!

Pressing the + button once gives you a soft, purring straight vibe that is surprisingly powerful while being very quiet.
Pressing a second time gives you a slightly more vigorous but higher pitched vibe that is a touch louder.
Pressing a third time gives a higher pitched vibe that isn't terribly more powerful but the vibrations seem to concentrate more in the tip of the toy.
Pressing a fourth time gives you a more powerful and, again, higher pitched vibration that is also concentrated in the tip of the toy. It is the louder still.
Pressing a fifth time gives a slight increase in power but still a straight vibrations pattern.
Pressing a sixth time gives you the final level of straight vibe. The vibrations are very buzzy and highly concentrated in the tip of the toy. It is the loudest the toy gets as well. This can be heard outside a bedroom door, barely, but not if it is inserted.
Pressing a seventh time gets you the first pattern which is a powerful pulsating rthym that is fairly slow, a 2/2 pattern. It is deep and rumbly but easily felt on the surface of the toy.
Pressing an eighth time gets you a faster pulsation but no increase in power.
Pressing a ninth time gets you a pulsating mixed pattern that leaves your body guessing what's next. Very cool setting! This is also the last pattern. Pressing again takes you back to straight vibration.

One unique feature of the toy is the press and hold off switch. If you press it quickly it will drop the vibe back to the last pattern/speed but if you hold it down it will quickly turn off the vibrator.

This is a silicone vibrator so be careful with silicone lube, spot test a small area before slathering it on. Waterbased lube is always perfect for silicone toys and the non-porous nature of the toy will allow your lube to remain slick for quite a long time. A little lube goes a long way with this toy!

It is a great toy for sharing but be sure to have either a condom or two on hand if you plan to swap it around during a play session. You could also use toy wipes to clean it between partners if you would prefer.

This is not recommended as an anal toy as it is fairly short and has no flared base. It gets super slippery in use and could slip right out of even a careful hand during play.

Washing the toy is as easy as soap and warm water, a commercial preparation, or a 10% bleach and water solution. It isn't recommended that you try to boil or dishwasher clean this toy because of the moving parts.

You will want to be sure your batteries are new or close to new as this vibe is sensitive to battery power and the vibration intensity fades quickly as it muches up the battery juice. It's not exactly a battery hog but it's close.

Store this toy in the box it arrives in or a toy bag type arrangement for complete discretion. This isn't a small toy so it can't be easily disguised or hidden from prying eyes. It isn't a lewd looking toy, it's actually rather classy so it shouldn't raise too many eyebrows.

I do still like my Akmeo but I don't use it as much as some of the other toys I own. This is a very filling toy but I have others that are more exciting. The toy is holding up spectacularly as one would expect from a silicone toy of this caliber. It still looks brand new even though it gets some use.
