The Desi vaginal exerciser balls serve the purpose of stimulating the vagina. Although the balls work for what they are meant to do, they are not easily inserted, and the cord is so thick it is very noticeable when inserted. Clean up is also a bit of a bother.
The Desi Love Balls by Feelztoys are an interesting addition to anyones toy box. They are intended for vaginal stimulation and Kegel exercises. To use you should definitely get some water based lube and use it generously. Do not use silicone based lube because it could have negative effects on the silicone toy. I purchased these specifically as kegel exercisers. Kegels are really great for women with urinary incontinence, who are going to or recently had a baby, or any other gal who's looking for something to aid in tightening up that cooter! You can use the Desi anywhere you want but I wouldn't use them in public or around people if you aren't comfortable. Use them in private first to decide if you could go around others with a straight face.
I would not use these for anal because although they have a cord they still could get lost. I would also clean these before and after use to insure safety since the inner balls are removable from the silicone sleeves and bacteria and germs could get stuck in there if you aren't careful.
The Desi is made of Silicone and plastic. The light pink outer sleeve is silicone and very stretchy. The darker pink inner balls are hard plastic with heavy inner balls.
The silicone is stretchy and durable. It can be pulled pretty hard and still keeps its shape. It doesn't have a smell to it, and I did not taste it since its not really intended to be in your mouth. This is the first silicone toy I've owned and the texture is pretty matte and luxurious and doesn't hold lint or hair like I expected. It does have a good amount of drag to it so it will be necessary to use lube for insertion.
There were a few design flaws that interfered with comfort while using the Desi. The first and most noticeable is the cord. It is way too thick to not be noticed. It's rather annoying and I could constantly feel it. I also found that the main reason I purchased these particular balls, the hearts, are a little annoying. When I was trying to put them up in there, discomfort was caused by the ridges and points of the hearts. They can not be felt once inserted, thankfully. The last flaw was the sleeves around the balls. They were easy to remove but much harder to put back on at the right position.
Aesthetically I love the Desi, but comfort wise they aren't the best. I have concluded that since they are not going to be visible during use you should really pick comfort over looks. The size was also intimidating to me. A smaller size would have been better and easier to keep inserted.
I don't think Desi is discreet because it looks strange and not "everyday." If I saw it out, it would automatically catch my attention and I would question what it was.
The Desi is great because it's non-porous and can easily be sanitized. I think this is especially important for something that is going to be sitting inside of the vagina for long periods of time. It created deep and dense feeling vibrations when it was inserted. They really helped me to tighten when I felt a vibration and I did have to put a little effort in to hold the squeeze for a few seconds. If you want to strengthen the muscles of your pelvic floor, these could be a great motivation.
To clean this toy I use soap and warm water. Remove the balls from the outer sleeve while cleaning, to get into all the places that germs could get trapped. Let all parts dry separately before putting the balls back into the sleeve to prevent mold or mildew growth. There is a lot of effort that has to be put in for cleaning and I'm not sure if it is all worth it. I store it in a pouch inside my toy drawer. I mentioned this earlier but only use water based lubes since silicone lubes could be harmful.
I haven't enjoyed this toy as much as I had wanted and I can think of a dozen things I would change about Desi to have it suit me better. If the aspects I mentioned earlier wouldn't bother you, then this could potentially be a good purchase. For me, it has proved to be bothersome and something I would actually avoid using.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it7 months after original review
I still don't like these and would not suggest them to anyone. They don't work well and I think there are a lot of other kegel exercisers on Eden that would be better. I haven't really used them since after writing the review and don't plan on using them again. They were a waste.
