Oh My Buh-buh buh-buh, buh-buh-buh-buh BOD
The OhMiBod is a really fun vibe, and will probably be pretty amazing for those of you who enjoy traditional vibrators. On the music setting the power rises and falls, starts and stops, all to the volume intensity of your music. On the normal setting it has 7 great vibration settings and a ton of power to keep that smile on your face. It is made of a body safe material, and on top of that, requires hardly any lube! I would definitely suggest trying this puppy out!

The OhMiBod is a traditional style vibrator that works as a music driven vibrator when plugged into a computer, cellphone, mp3player or Ipod, even a guitar! (pretty much anything that has a headphone jack). When not plugged into a music source, it works as a high quality, with multiple vibration patterns.
It is not discreet in size or sound, and looks just like what it is.
Because this is a traditional vibrator it is not designed to be used for anything fancy. It is not ideal for anal use, is not g-spot targeting or bendable for dual stimulation, however it does work well for straight up vaginal penetration, as well as clitoral or other exterior stimulation.
The OhMiBod is made constructed of a hard plastic with what I am going to assume is the equivilent of a PU, or Velvet cote. It is very rigid which means that you aren't going to be able to do a whole lot more with this than simple thrusting. On the upside, this also means that you are going to need very little lube when using this toy. Unfortunately this sucker is not waterproof, so don't go showering with it or you will be in a world of hurt my friend; the kind that can only occur when you thoughlessly bring your toys into the bath without making sure they are go for water, and allow that dasturdly liquid to penetrate deep into the mechanics thus frying the vibe, possibly for good. This means you must use a little finess during cleaning as well.
The vibe is roughly 8" long, 6 to 6, 1/2" of which is insertable. It has a circumference of 3, 1/2", and is 1" in diameter. This makes for a fairly unintimidating vibrator, maybe a little louder than a beginner would be comfortable with (depending on living situation), but otherwise is a great start for those looking for a traditional vibe.
As I mentioned above, the OhMiBod has two different modes of use. The music driven mode detects levels of sound travelling into the imput. It does not however detect any specific type of noise, just the fluctuation of it. This means that if you want your vibrator to register anything other than a straight vibration which fluctuates occasionally in intensity, you are going to have to be very selective with your music choices.
On the music setting, the volume level will determine the power of the vibrations at their highest setting. The information that comes in the box suggests that the optimal level is at 75%.
On the pattern setting, there are 7 different settings.
The settings are :
- 3 levels of straight vibration - low, medium and high
- A powerful pulsing vibration
- An escalation with destinct jumps to the next power level
- A short escalation on low followed by two medium pulses, repeated, and then a medium to high escalation with two powerful pulses
- A rollercoaster setting with two powerful pulses at both the high and low points
The Controls are conveniently located on the lower portion of the vibrator, on what would be considered the cap. There are two buttons one which is the designated OFF switch and the other which turns the vibrator on and cycles through the settings, this is marked with a small triangle, which is unfortunately almost impossible to see unless your race is right up to it; however once you have gotten used to the vibrator you should not have difficulty remembering that the top is off and bottom is on.
To insert the batteries (2AA) simply unscrew the cap and pull out the battery sleeve, insert batteries and replace. The base of the cap is where the cord input is located; the cord which accompanies the vibrator is roughly 3 feet long with an integrated splitter, allowing you to hook your headphones up simultaneously so that you do not miss the music as your vagina or other erogenous zones are enjoying the beat.
The OhMiBod comes in a cardboard box that is fairly informative in comparison to the packaging of MANY other products that I have encountered, and on top of that it comes with an instruction booklet. The booklet describes the controls, the music driven function, the ways in which you can optimize use, and the cleaning process. It also comes with a baby pink, velvet, OhMiBod storage pouch.
As far as cleaning this vibrator, you can use either an antibacterial toy cleaner, a mild soap and damp cloth, or a 10% bleach solution to wash with. Never fully submerge this vibrator in water, I actually suggest wiping it down with a lint free towel, removing the batteries, and leaving it open for a while to ensure that no moisture will compromise the motor.

Experience
Some music I have found which works well in combination with the vibe is as follows.
Amy Whinehouse
Rehab
Me and Mr Jones
Back To Black
Aretha Franklin
Muddy Water
BB King
Riding With The King
Help the Poor
Marry You
Charlotte Martin
Cut the Cord
Clutch
Ship of Gold
WishBone
Elephant Riders
The vibrations in the OhMiBod are fairly rumbly but powerful enough on high that they can still make the hand a little numb if held for long. The lower vibrations are definitely more rumbly than the higher ones.
As far as a traditional vibrator goes, I would have to say this is pretty much the bees knees (aside from the waterproof issue and the noise). The strength is good, the patterns are great, and the controls are user friendly. As far as being music driven, I was frustrated by the fact that the vibrator only read intensity of noise as opposed to picking up the treble or bass of the music. As far as getting me off, there are much better vibes out there, which stimulate my body far better. I enjoy Gspot stimulation during penetration, but without that, the pleasurable sensation of being penetrated is somewhat lacking ( in part due to the girth of the toy). I think it serves far better as a clitoral stimulator than anything else.

Follow-up commentary
6 months after original review
I find this to be more of a novelty vibrator than anything else. The shape really doesn't do much for me. I still consider the vibrations to be a pretty decent strength, they would certainly be adequate for most people.
I do think that this would make an awesome beginner vibrator as most women like to start with something smooth and unthreatening in size. The music aspect just makes the design all the more appealing.
