Not the G-Spotter of my Dreams.
The Lucid Dream No. 14 is a nice vibrator. It's cute, shiny, and not intimidating. It provides solid, strong vibrations and a unique shape with the bullet placed exactly where you want the power. This is just not a toy for everybody (nothing is), because no one has the same shape or needs. The design of this toy didn't throw me into fits of explosive ejaculation, but so many rave about the No. 14 that clearly it works for some.

Pros
Quiet, powerful, reasonably priced, waterproof, easy to use, thick head.
Cons
Didn't rock my g-spot, can't share, collects lint, shape may not work for everyone.
I bought Doc Johnson's Lucid Dream No. 14 a few years ago as my second g-spot-specific toy on an epic quest to achieve the elusive g-spot orgasm. It received rave reviews on a number of sites, it was the right price, and I thought that having the bullet in the head of the toy was freaking genius. When it arrived I was elated; I grabbed two AA-batteries (another selling point for me was that I felt AAs would give more power) and immediately ran to the bathroom for a shower with my new friend. I pulled the No. 14 out of its plastic box, which had a nice little indent shaped around the toy and glittery words in a psychedelic font informing me that it is "waterproof and virtually silent," and that "the feeling is surreal." There was a sticker on the box that let me know that this vibrator was the Women's Health Magazine Winner of the Best Maxi Vibe. I had no idea what that meant, but I was very sure that I was about to have my world straight rocked!
After being a little surprised by the girth (a 4 3/4" head--a tad more than I expected), I inserted the batteries and screwed the bottom on tightly, as I was about to jump in the shower. I noticed right away that there was going to be very little possibility of accidentally opening up the battery compartment while trying to turn the Lucid Dream on or off, which can be an issue with dial-based toys. I was impressed with the power and how quiet it was. The dial control made the toy go from "off" to "high" and various powers in between, but no pulsing or anything fancy--very straight-forward, as they go. I played with the flex in the "neck;" it had some give, but was still firm. Where the bullet is nestled and the very tip are also quite solid, though nothing compared to glass or steel.
Well, despite the acclaim, I didn't have my first g-spot orgasm that day and the Lucid Dream No. 14 has not achieved that feat in the time since. I think I've managed to have blended orgasms with it, but it just didn't quite prove to be the one for my body. It tends to be a little awkward to use for extended periods of time. I have a difficult time keeping it in place, as it tends to turn and it simply doesn't do the trick for me. It feels good, it's powerful, and it continues to be a toy I reach for, but it's not the g-spotter I had hoped for and expected. I do also enjoy using this toy anally because it has a flare. If you do this, always be careful and always, always use a condom. I'm not crazy about the No. 14 on my clit, it just doesn't feel as good as some other toys I have. The battery life is fine; it's not great, not terrible, but don't expect to get more than a few uses out of each set of AAs.
Upon removal from its packaging, I did notice a bit of a rubbery scent that is common with toys made from jelly. It was not repelling, and has since faded. Jelly is bouncy and has some of that rubbery drag when dry, but slicks up nicely and requires very little lube, if any at all. It is compatible with silicone- and water-based lubricants. It is not a material that can be sanitized, so if sharing or using this toy anally, you should always use a condom. Since the No. 14 is waterproof, it is easy to clean with warm water and mild soap or toy cleaner, but never use anything harsh or boiling water. Store the Lucid Dream No. 14 in a cool, dry place that is not exposed to direct sunlight. Another downside of jelly is that it tends to attract its fair share of stray hairs, dust bunnies, and lint particles, so you'll probably be washing it before and after each use, but you should be doing that anyways (not that you didn't know that already).

Follow-up commentary

I ended up tossing this thing. I just really don't want anything to do with jelly toys, and it didn't feel good enough for me to buy condoms for it. Oh well, a lot of ladies can't get enough of their No. 14; I am not one of them.

Good review, though. I hope that elusive orgasm happens soon!
I don't know if you can really wrangle an orgasm, but I plan on trying
