Not for my toy box!

I don't like this toy much because it's not good for anal, and the vibrations are very weak. It is too thin, and that is one thing that makes it even less pleasurable. However, I still make it work when I'm bored with my other toys. I don't have many at the moment, so I use what I have. I wouldn't recommend this, and I wouldn't gift it, so that should give you an idea of how much I like it.

Use

Checkmates the Bishop is a toy that is probably best for someone with an overly sensitive clitoris. The intensity of this toy is literally so weak that I cannot feel it. It doesn't hold a candle to even the cheapest vibrators that I have purchased in the past in the sense that they were all stronger than this one. That should give you an idea of the power of this vibrator.

The shape is a little nice. I do think the bulbed texture could be a little more intense, maybe some larger bulbs, or making the toy a big thicker would come in handy. I see this as more of a dildo since the vibrations are not strong. I think the vibrations are just there as an added effect.

Material / Texture

This toy is composed of ABS Plastic, coated with a PU coating. It's fairly safe, but not the safest around. It can still hold bacteria in different ways, including areas that maybe were not coated correctly or in crevasses, which this vibrator has. I recommend only using this with water-based lubricant, and I recommend always using a condom over this vibrator for safety reasons, especially when sharing.

There is no real texture. However, it is velvety smooth if you consider that to be a texture. It has the right amount of drag so that you don't need a whole lot of lubricant to get a "slip and slide". This is a pro to me because I can't stand toys that need tons of lubricant.

I have not tasted this vibrator, and I prefer not to, but it doesn't have any smell. There was a slight smell when it came out of the box. I suppose that is from the packaging, or maybe something it was coated in. The smell went away after a wash with warm water and a wet wipe.

Design / Shape / Size

I think the design could use some work, maybe making this toy thicker would be nice, as far as the bulbs go. I get the idea of having it look like a Bishop, but it is so thin that I can't seem to find pleasure. Maybe added texture would have helped this. I'm not sure, but I know this toy needed a lot more thought.

The bulbs could be bigger, not only for pleasure, but for safety. This toy is tempting to use anally, but I don't find the flare large enough to keep it from going in too deep. If you aren't careful, you could easily stick this in too far. Therefore, this is NOT an anal toy.

It is suitable for travel because it is small enough to stick in your purse, or a suit case without anyone noticing. I prefer to travel with rechargeable toys or glass toys, things that don't require batteries. This isn't a huge issue for me, but I can say that if this is your idea of something you'd want to travel with, it's the right size.

There is an O-ring seal, and it is considered waterproof. I would rather like to call this splash-proof as the O-ring wiggles around a lot, and isn't at all sturdy. I could use this in the shower, but never fully submerged in water.

Functions / Performance / Controls

This vibrator is operated with a dial. The issue for me was that if you turn the dial (you have to turn it pretty hard, which can be good in some ways) you may accidentally open the battery compartment. The batteries will easily slide out on the bed, and you have to stop and pick up the mess. It can really put a dent in your play time. I recommend picking your preferred intensity before playing to avoid this. It is a good thing to have a dial that you really have to turn, simply so you don't turn the toy off on accident, but it's annoying to pop your battery compartment open on accident.

I already mentioned that the highest intensity is very low. You're at a 2 vrooms at your highest. The lower intensities are just a light humming and buzzing. It is nothing spectacular, and in no means enough to give me an orgasm, personally. Like I said before, if you're overly sensitive to vibrations, this could be great for you.

Since the intensity is so low, so is the sound level. You can't hear it outside of the covers. This may make this toy good for someone living in a dorm or with their family.

Care and Maintenance

Caring for this toy is mostly easy. You can use warm water and antibacterial soap, toy cleaner, or toy wet wipes. Eden has some wipes that work perfect. I always clean around the edges of the battery compartment opening because lubricant seems to get stuck in that area a lot. Other than that, there aren't any crevasses where you will find build-up.

If you don't have somewhere to store this toy, you could simply keep the original container and keep it in there. Otherwise, a small pouch, sock, or just a safe place in your dresser drawer will work just fine. I don't use this toy too often, so I just let it sit in my underwear drawer.

Packaging

The packaging isn't really discreet as it is see-through. It clearly shows what is inside, and if someone picked it up they would know it was a vibrator, but from afar it may just look like some sort of child's toy. Nonetheless, I would trash the packaging and keep this toy in some other form of storage. If I were gifting this, I would definitely wrap it for discretion.

Personal comments

I would like to note that after washing, you'll want to keep the battery compartment open, with batteries removed, for about half an hour to ensure that everything is fully dried. This is basically to ensure that the toy doesn't get damaged due to the faulty O-ring.

You also want to make sure that the O-ring is in place correctly before trying to screw on the end or you will end up damaging it pretty badly.

Experience

I found this toy best for use on the G-spot. I use it in the shower after playing with a clitoral vibrator to get me to squirt. It's very thin so it doesn't give tons of stimulation to the vaginal walls. It's more of a pinpoint pressure type play that I get out of this toy.
Follow-up commentary
I still dislike Checkmates the Bishop. My thoughts have not changed at all... just wasn't a pleasure for me to own or use. Don't recommend it.
