Noisy & Uncontrollable
Isn't worth it for the simple fact that the battery area is not well constructed and you cannot maintain speed control.
Published:
Pros
Size & material.
Cons
Sheer volume & lack of speed control.
The size is good for a beginner. Or, it would also be nice for someone who is not a size junkie. The material is a medium weight plastic that is not too hard and not too soft. The Jewel has no flexibility to it whatsoever.
The speed of the Jewel is absolutely impossible to control. The battery area is poorly constructed. Pressure had to be applied to the battery area to keep the speed from constantly changing. It does seem have variable speed, but good luck getting it to work properly. I guess you could strap the battery area down with some duct tape, but who wants that.
The Jewel is also very loud. I'm pretty sure the neighbors below me could hear it. It sounded like a weed eater, which would have been fine if I were outside doing yard work. If you are in an area where you need some discretion, the Jewel is definitely not for you.
It could be fun for an addition to partner play, but on its own, it is pretty boring. But, if you are attracted to shiny objects, which apparently I am, it has cute little jewels along the bottom.
My favorite quality or feature would be the cute little jewels by the battery area. Unfortunately, the Jewel did not work for its intended purpose because of poor construction. The look is super cute. It feels nice to the touch. I did not use it in conjunction with other toys, but it probably would have helped things along.
I came from all partner play, to totally being on my own. The Jewel just does not do the trick. Honestly, I would not recommend the Jewel for much of anything other than something cute to look it. If the quality of construction were better, the reviews would be much better.
