I wanted to enjoy this since it was my first vibrator, but I just can't fall in love with it. It is silent, alright, but the vibrations are too weak even for the beginner. If you want something for foreplay this could fit the bill, but there are better and cheaper toys you can buy for this same purpose. Save your money for something else.

Cons
weak vibrations battery insertion must be exact may be too big for beginners
Lucid Dreams no. 16 is a traditional vibrator. It can be used for vaginal penetration as a dildo, or to simulate the clitoris and/or nipples during foreplay. The bulb at the end of the toy, similar to a massager-type vibrator like the Hitachi in particular, makes it extremely easy to access the clit and nipples.
The toy is advertised as silent, and it sure is quiet. When I first turned it on, I thought it was broken, even after I turned the dial to full blast. Unless you have this right in front of your face or you are feeling the bulb at the end, you will neither notice nor hear the vibrations. And trust me, I have really good hearing. If I can't hear it when it's out in the open, your roommate or neighbor isn't going to hear it through the sheets or the bedroom walls.
As a waterproof toy, anyone who wants some fun in the dorm shower should be able to use it for that purpose. Considering how silent it is, I doubt anyone would hear the toy especially with water running.
When it first came out of the box, it had a slightly strong rubber smell notorious with jelly toys and Doc Johnson toys in general. Anyone in the room could smell it if he or she got close enough to its hiding place. The smell does reduce over time with each cleaning.
Being made of jelly, Petites no. 16 is flexible and jiggles slightly when shaken lightly, but it's far from flimsy. The jelly is smooth to the touch save for a faint seam on opposite sides. You won't feel it unless you are actively looking for it with your fingertips because it's that faint.
Jelly is porous, so high maintenance is required to keep it as clean as possible before and after use. If you're looking for a toy you can clean and put away quickly, this is probably not the toy for you.
The toy's appearance caught my eye when I first saw it. The pink color was sweet and feminine. The ridges give the toy a whimsical feeling and the promise of a great time. Overall, it just looked adorable. Appearance wise, it did not intimidate me at all; as a beginner, that's definitely a plus.
It's still obvious this is a vibrator, courtesy of the overall shape, the bullet, and wires you can see through the translucent jelly. Good luck excusing it as something other than a sex toy to someone.
I am told by the name, this is the petite version of Lucid Dreams no. 16. I assumed this meant it would be smaller in girth; but in reality, it is just shorter in length: the original no. 28 has seven inches of insert-able length, while petite no. 16 has only six. Otherwise, the other dimensions are very similar, with differences less than an inch in most cases. With a circumference of 4 1/2 inches and a diameter of 1 3/8 inches, no. 16 is probably too large for virgins or women who have had very little or no experience with vaginal penetration beyond tampons. A toy with 1 inch diameter would be better for a first toy in this case.
The toy is run by 2 AAA batteries. The batteries have to be secured exactly right inside the compartment or the toy will not work at all. This is extremely frustrating and definitely reduces the amount of fun in the toy.
The dial at the bottom, which you use to control vibrations, is easy to control. Although it's promised to be "multi-speed," I detected little difference between the lowest setting and full blast. They feel almost the same to me and that's disappointing. The vibrations are great for foreplay and light teasing, but if you're trying to reach orgasm with just this toy, your goal will NOT be reached. They are just too weak even for beginners to get off from. This toy is more of an appetizer, than the main course, so to speak.
This is the most silent vibrator I have in my very small collection of sex toys. The volume is equivalent to a very faint whisper even at the highest speed. If silence, rather than power is what you want, this is perfect.
I have never attempted to submerge this toy in a tub of water, but it is definitely splash proof. Avoid using water-based lube in the shower, though; water will just make the lube run off your toy.
This toy attracts dust and lint like a magnet to metal. The jelly is also porous and impossible to completely sterilize. Therefore, it's best that one uses a condom to make clean up easier and when one is sharing with another person. Otherwise, you can clean your toy with mild soap and water or toy cleaner if you want. Since the package does not say whether or not it contains phthalates, which could potentially cause harm to one's body, condom use is also strongly advised for this reason.
I would recommend storing this toy in an individual bag, whether you are storing all your toys in the same box or not. Doing this not only reduces the risk of attracting dust and lint, but also prevents possible reactions jelly toys can have with toys made of other materials.
If you use lube, you may use either water or silicone-based lubricants. Apply to the condom after wrapping over the toy and have fun!
The packaging is not discreet at all. It's colorful and you can see the vibrator in all it's glory, within the see-through box. The toy's name takes up any space the vibrator does not. The box is also cheap and flimsy, so I would advise against storing the toy in it, post-opening.
The information the box provides is just as useless. The side of the box has the word "massager" in six different languages, all European. The back of the box describes the Lucid Dreams line in general, advises which batteries to use, color of your model and...that's it. There were no instructions enclosed, but use isn't too difficult if you play around with it some, first.
This was my first toy. I was mostly looking for a low-priced, high quality vibrator that was nearly silent, since I was about to enter college. When you're in college, you need all the privacy you can get. This seemed like a good candidate, so I bought this when I had the chance.
As a virgin, who never used a toy before, I wish I chosen a smaller traditional vibrator with smaller dimensions first, to get used to the size. I could get it in, but it took a lot of practice with both this and a smaller vibrator, I bought later. If I had known more about the toy, I would have either upgraded to it later or not bought it altogether.
It can work as a dildo, by thrusting it in and out during a masturbation session, or you can also use a pocket rocket or bullet at the same time to simulate a poor woman's rabbit. This method provides your best chance of coming with this vibrator, in my experience.
Like I have previously said, this toy is definitely best used as a foreplay tool. It feels great on your clit and helps it get ready for the harder stuff to come along. It's just a shame that it can't get the job done on its own, that's all.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it20 days after original review
This stupid thing has finally broken. Thank God. I'm going to get rid of it in the near future. If I can dispose of it in a greener way than just throwing it in the trash, that would be awesome.

I'm sorry this vibrator didn't work out for you. My guess is if it broke, it would be exchanged from Eden (if you obtained it from Eden) and it could be returned for the same toy.
My only question about your review is this statement: The bulb at the end of the toy, similar to a massager-type vibrator like the Hitachi end quote. This is really not accurate.
Do you have a Hitachi? Have you ever seen one? The ball end of the Hitachi is about the size of a tennis ball, about 7 or 8 inches in circumference, and not meant for penetration. The circumference of the Lucid Dreams is only 4.5 inches, made of a different material and not at all the power house that the high powered Hitachi is. You would hate to mislead people.
I would maybe think about this sentence and substitute something else, or someone may think this plastic toy is a contender for the Hitachi, and they are very different toys.
Anyway, thank you for the review. I hope your next insertable vibrator is a better experience. I will look for toys that might work for you and get back to you.
Keep on playing & writing.

Note, because I apparently can't edit my review: when I referred to the bulb as similar to a Hitachi head, I meant that it reminded me of one appearance wise. It's definitely not the same size nor totally like a Hitachi. At all. I apologize for any potential confusion the above statement caused.
