Gigi is a very beautiful G-spot vibrator. I was so happy to finally try her. Unfortunately, my G-spot didn’t like her broad, flat head. I found Gigi very uncomfortable during vaginal use. If you know this shape works for you, I definitely suggest Gigi. She is moderately powerful, very quiet, silicone, and rechargeable. As other reviewers have shown, many women do find this design pleasurable. It just depends on your anatomy.
I was so excited to try the Gigi by Lelo. Gigi was my first G-spot focused vibrator. I’ve had it many months, and I finally decided to review it. I was hoping to make it work for me with time and many uses, but it just didn’t work out.
Gigi comes in such beautiful colors. She is rechargeable and just plain gorgeous. I chose the turquoise color, and it’s super pretty. However, my first time with Gigi I wasn’t impressed. I was so disappointed that she sat in the back of my toy box for a few months. After I had finally figured out how my G-spot worked with other glass toys, I decided to try Gigi again. Unfortunately, Gigi’s shape did nothing for my G-spot. It’s still a really high quality vibrator, and it will probably work for most women. The many positive reviews show that. It just depends if you like Gigi’s broad shaped head.
Gigi is made out of a beautiful, smooth silicone. Silicone is non-porous and hypo-allergenic, and it rates a 10 on Edenfantasy’s safety scale. The handle is plastic. Gigi had no smell when I received her. Gigi’s silicone feels very smooth and velvety to me. The silicone feels very high quality. I've had other toys that are silicone with a rubber feel, but she is nice and velvety to the touch. There was little to no drag with Gigi, so I used a small amount of lubricant. Gigi is very firm with no give to her whatsoever. Her firm material makes it easier to apply pinpoint stimulation. I found no seams on Gigi. There is no texture to her either. She is plain and smooth with a broad shaped head. If you like smooth toys, Gigi may work great for you. If you love texture, I wouldn't get her.
My main issue with Gigi is her design. Gigi’s shaft is plain and curves upward to her broad, flat head. Her slight curve is meant to trigger the G-spot. I tried to make her work, but I didn’t like her shape. I found her shape to be very uncomfortable. It didn’t flow well with my body. I tried thrusting Gigi to get my G-spot going, but it just didn’t feel good. Her broad shape hurt when thrusting, and I just wanted to take her out. It didn't catch on my pubic bone, although it definitely could. I know that for most women, Gigi's shape is perfect for G-spot stimulation. If you know that her shape will work for you, go for it. She offers lots of pinpointed pressure to your G-spot. If you like lots of pressure, this may work well for you. I’m really sad that Gigi didn’t work for me.
I actually found that Gigi worked better for clitoral stimulation. She is definitely strong enough to bring me to orgasm. However, I don’t know if I’ll ever really use her again, since I have other better clitoral vibrators.
Gigi’s size is on the smaller side. If you like bigger vibrators, I’d try the Iris by Lelo instead. Gigi is 6 ½” in length and has an insertable length of 4 ½”. Gigi isn’t very long, so there isn’t a whole lot to insert. She has a circumference of 3 ½” and a diameter of 1 1/8”. I found that I really prefer bigger sized vibrators for vaginal penetration. Her size is definitely suitable for beginners to advanced users. Here is the Iris and Gigi side by side.
Gigi smaller size means she is fairly easy to hide. If you wanted to travel with a G-spot vibrator, I think Gigi would be the perfect choice. She isn't necessarily discreet. If someone saw it, they would know it's a vibrator.
I really love Lelo’s vibrators because they are rechargeable. There are no batteries to worry about! There is a small flap at the bottom of Gigi where the charger plugs into. It takes around 2 hours to charge, and it gives you around two hours of playtime. When the battery is getting low, the LED backlight will glow red instead of the usual white.
Gigi’s controls are fairly easy to use during play. The control pad has four main buttons. The left to right buttons, - to +, allow you to increase or decrease the vibrations. To turn on Gigi, you simply hold the + sign. To turn it off, you hold the – sign. The up and down buttons (little arrows) control the different pulsating patterns. The plastic handle is fairly easy to hold during use.
One really nice thing about Lelo products is that you can lock their functions so they don’t accidentally go off. I really recommend you do this as I’ve had mine go off when I wasn’t looking. All you have to do is hold down the middle button for 5 seconds until the pad lights up. You do the exact same thing to unlock it.
Gigi has many vibration settings that will surely please most users. The first seven settings (when you press +) increase in steady vibration. Then when you press the arrow buttons, you access the patterns. There are escalating, pulsating, and rollercoaster patterns. It definitely has variety! She is moderately powerful in my opinion. Gigi is not super intense but powerful enough for most individuals. I found her to be strong enough to reach orgasm on my clitoris. Gigi is pretty quiet for being so strong. She is probably as loud as a cell phone vibration and feels very buzzy. You definitely couldn't hear her through a closed door, so she is very roommate friendly. Sadly, Gigi isn’t waterproof. This doesn’t bother me except when I am cleaning her.
Since Gigi isn’t waterproof, you have to be really careful if you decide to wash her. I still like to wash my toys even if they aren’t waterproof. I hold Gigi, wash up to the handle, and then stop. You can also use a wipe if you want to clean it faster. You can clean her with a 10% beach solution. Although silicone is able to be sterilized, don't boil Gigi or put her in the dishwasher as it could ruin the motor. I store my Gigi in the satin pouch she came in. Since Gigi is silicone, don’t use a silicone lubricant as it could ruin the toy. I stick to a water based lubricant.
Lelo always does an excellent job of packaging their products. Not only does Gigi come in a beautiful box, you get many extras. These extras include a satin pouch, a sample of lubricant, instructions, and the charger. Lelo always offers really informative instructions. I really liked the lubricant. It's nice to have some included with Lelo products, since they are so expensive.
Lelo offers a really great warranty if you are hesitant to buy Gigi or any other Lelo product. Lelo provides a warranty for 1 year and a 50% warranty for 10 years. If the toy breaks due to faulty workmanship, you’ll be compensated. Within one year, you get a new Gigi. After that, you can get another Gigi for 50% off. Lelo does a great job taking care of their customers.
Lelo vibrators use the same charger. If you have more than one toy, you only have to use one charger. I keep my other charger for backup, since I have two. The black satin storage bag is really nice, and it’s very soft. It closes easily. However, if you shake really hard, Gigi can fall out. Be sure you tie it.
Follow-up commentaryI still don't like it2 months after original review
I so wish the Gigi worked for me! It's a beautiful toy but the shape didn't work on my G-spot. So far, I've fallen in love with the Pure Wand for my G-spot. I still recommend it if you are looking for a G-spot vibrator. Lots of people love it!
