The sound has a slight whine, but overall it's very quiet. When instructed to do so by my master, I've turned it on and left it inserted while I made my way to meet him via public transit and none of my fellow passengers noticed the sound over the noise of the bus/train. I think I was more in danger of being betrayed by the moans of pleasure I was barely suppressing than by the sound of the vibrator. This exact use was actually why I got my tiny little best friend.

My other favorite use of this toy is as a shower buddy. The TCB is a nice, non-intimidating little toy at a very reasonable price. I've recommended it to friends looking for a first-time vibrator.
