Bullet vibrator
by We-vibe

Muy Caliente!

I wish I could give the Salsa a higher rating, but 5 stars will have to do. I love it's strong, rumbly vibrations and it's pinpoint stimulation. It's rechargeable so you never have to worry about running out of batteries. It's small enough it can be taken with you on your travels and it works well during partner sex. What's not to love?

Use

The Salsa by We-Vibe is one amazing little bullet. It is designed for clitoral stimulation. It can also be used to stimulate and caress erogenous zones all along your body. Because of it’s small, compact size it is not ideal for vaginal insertion or g-spot stimulation. In no way shape or form is this safe for anal play either. You can use it to stimulate the outside of the anus but take caution. This little sucker can be hard to hold onto.

The Salsa can be used during partner sex. However, in man-on-top positions, she can be tough to hold onto and because she’s made of hard plastic, your partner’s pelvis may smash her into your pelvis, which definitely doesn’t feel good. She works best in woman-on-top positions and rear-entry positions. She’s a great addition to partner sex.

The Salsa is completely waterproof so enjoy her in a bath or shower. I haven’t noticed any decrease in power when I use my Salsa underwater, which is a miracle. However, she’s so strong she tends to spray water when she makes contact with the water’s surface, so be careful if you’re in a bubble bath. No one likes getting soap in their eyes.

The Salsa is travel friendly as well. She’s incredibly small and compact, she’s only slightly larger than my middle finger. She can fit nearly anywhere within a backpack, purse, or luggage. She’s also rather discreet. If this went through a TSA checkpoint, I doubt the screener would think it’s more than a tube of lipstick. Salsa does not have a locking feature, however, the button is not sensitive and does require a fair amount of pressure to activate. It’s not likely she’ll turn on in your bag. Even if she does somehow turn on, you wouldn’t waste any batteries because this little baby is rechargeable.

Material / Texture

The Salsa is made of plastic, which rates as an 8 on the EdenFantasys safety scale. Plastic is hard, firm, and smooth. It is non porous, latex-free, hypoallergenic, and phthalate free so it is body safe. The plastic has absolutely no texture; it is smooth and slick. The only texture to speak of is at the base of the toy where it says “We Vibe Salsa.” The plastic has no taste or odor associated with it. The button appears to be made of silicone so be sure to keep it away from silicone lubes or other silicone toys.

Design / Shape / Size

The Salsa is a simple, lipstick shaped bullet vibrator. It is completely straight with a tapered, pointed tip. The pointed tip allows for pinpoint stimulation. If you want all of the power of the Salsa but need broad stimulation, I’d recommend the Salsa’s sister vibrator, the Tango. The Salsa is 3.5” long and about 2.25” in circumference. It’s definitely a small vibrator that packs one hell of a punch.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Oh boy, where do I start with this one? The Salsa has got to be the strongest and most rumbly vibrator I’ve tried to date. It’s also the smallest. The vibrations are felt throughout the entire toy. They’re incredibly strong and rumbly, it’s amazing that something so small can be so powerful. When I was taking pictures for this review, the Salsa slid out of my hand and onto my kitchen table while it was turned on. It jumped around like a Mexican Jumping Bean. Seriously. Most vibrators will slowly roll around if you set them on a hard surface. Not the Salsa; she’ll jump and roll away in the blink of an eye. I haven’t tried any wand vibrators like the Hitachi, which is supposed to be the standard for a 5 vroom rating, but I will say the Salsa can reach a low 5 vrooms. It has four power levels; low, medium, high, and ultra. These settings are followed by four various patterns. The first pattern is a tease, consisting of slow high pulses and then fast low ones. The second pattern is a wave or rollercoaster setting that cycles through every power level. The third is a pulse of high levels of vibrations. The final pattern is an interesting “cha-cha.” It pulses in a Cha-Cha beat of one, two, cha cha cha. The first two pulses are long, the following 3 are short. I’m not normally one for patterns but I really enjoy the patterns on the Salsa. The Salsa is so strong that I’m not frustrated by the break in vibrations like I am with weaker vibrators. To change the setting or pattern, you click the bottom button once. You do have to cycle through each setting and pattern if you skip over the one you were looking for. To turn it off, just press and hold the bottom button for 3 seconds. The Salsa has a vibration memory so when you turn her back on to resume play, she will start on the same setting you turned her off in. The Salsa is also pretty quiet, especially when she’s not being touched against any hard surfaces. She can’t be heard through any blankets when she's being used on lower settings and you can barely hear her on higher settings.

Salsa is rechargeable and you can get about 2 hours of play out of the battery, depending on the power level. When I’m using her on the ultra level, I find I can get about an hour total. Luckily, she doesn’t take too long to charge. Just be sure to charge her for 90 minutes the first time you charge her.
    • Easy to use
    • Lots of variety in function
    • Powerful

Care and Maintenance

To clean the Salsa, be sure to use soap and water or your favorite toy cleaner. You can also wipe the toy off with isopropyl alcohol. Plastic toys, especially ones with motorized parts, can not be boiled to be sterilized. Be sure to use water-based lubes with the Salsa. You want to be careful of what comes in contact with the button on the bottom.

To store the Salsa, I keep her in her satin storage bag, along with all of the pieces to charge her. This bag is small enough that it does not take up much space at all. If toy storage space is at premium for you, do not worry about this little girl. She can fit in the smallest of spaces. Of course, you may not even need to store her; she may find a permanent home on your nightstand.

To charge the Salsa, plug the charging port into the cord. The Salsa then connects magnetically to the small port. It can be a bit touchy so a light will turn on on the charging port when it is charging. The slightest bit of movement can disconnect the Salsa from the charging port so make sure you see the light turn on before you leave it to charge on a flat, sturdy surface.

Packaging

The Salsa comes in a trapezoid shaped cardboard box. Inside is the Salsa, the charging port, the cord, an instruction booklet, and the satin bag. The packaging is classy but it isn’t discreet. It includes pictures and information about the Salsa on it so it is obvious what is inside. I would say it is suitable for gift giving if your recipient isn’t easily embarrassed.

Box

The satin bag is perfect for long term storage and it is large enough to fit the Salsa as well as the pieces needed to charge her. I’d recommend keeping them all in the bag because losing the small charging port will mean you can not charge the Salsa. My satin bag, unfortunately, has a giant rip in it. I’m not sure if it came with a small tear in it that has gotten bigger or if I caused the rip in my excitement to use my Salsa on a regular basis. Either way, it can be sewed shut again and doesn’t detract from the usefulness of the bag yet.

Personal comments

I'm extremely happy with my decision to purchase the Salsa. It's been an amazing addition to my solo session and my partner sex. My partner loves using this on me during foreplay as well. The Salsa has the ability to give me strong orgasms every time. Most of the time, I even end up squirting when I use the Salsa. The Salsa is everything I’ve ever wanted in a vibrator. It's got powerful, rumbly vibrations, various power levels, pinpoint stimulation, and a rechargeable battery. I don’t know what’s not to love with this little sucker. I’m sad I’ve waited so long to bring the Salsa into my life. The Salsa is perfect to use alone, with a penetrative toy, during foreplay, solo, or during partner sex. I can’t say enough positive things about the Salsa.

It appears as if We Vibe has made the decision to discontinue the Salsa and just manufacture the Tango. If you are on the fence about the Salsa, now is a great time to grab it! I’d highly recommend it. You can’t go wrong with the Salsa if you like strong, rumbly vibrations and powerful stimulation.

For what it's worth - our Salsa worked good for about 2 months - now it does not hold a charge anymore
