The Minuet is a great beginner toy or for those who like slimmer toys. I'm not one to like huge toys, but this one was a bit too slim, even for me. It did stimulate, it just didn't wow. I ended up using this toy for clitoral stimualtion in the shower more than anything else.

Pros
3 speeds, Flexible material, Low smell, Low noise for the most part, Great for beginners, Packaging
Cons
No off/on button, A bit too slim for me to feel texture
Evolved is one of my favorite toy manufacturers for good reason. I have a lot of their higher end silicone vibes, but I also have some of their lower end vibrators too. Their Symphony line is affordable (about half the price of their Roulette line) and are made in more beginner friendly shapes and sizes. The Minuet is one of those.
This toy is very average in size, and should work for many women. It's great for beginners, but doesn't have to be only used by a novice. With three speeds, it won't satisfy a power hungry vagina, but it will suffice for most. I found the vibrations to be strong enough for me, but I have a sensitive clitoris usually. The textured shape is subtle, but can be felt a lot more when thrusting.
This vibrator is very hassle free and easy to use and clean. It takes two AA batteries and has a relatively long power life. It can be loud on the higher levels, so it's not best for those who need or want a quiet toy, especially if this toy will spend most of its time on the clit instead of inside the body.
The Minuet is made of a medical grade and body-safe TPR. it comes in two colors, blue and pink. I have the pink. I would describe it as a deep hot pink. It is clear where the pink plastic does not show. TPR is a resilient material that is flexible and strong. It is not as porous as jelly or rubber, but it is not as safe as silicone either. If you are sharing, use a condom.
The material has a very slight smell to it at first, but it goes away with a few washes. The material does pick up lint and hair so it is a good idea to rinse it before and after use. The surface also has some drag, so I recommend using lubricant. It feels wonderfully smooth with lube.
The material offers a decent amount of give and allows for the toy to bend about 45 degrees in any direction. The rest of the toy is made of a sturdy pink plastic. It has a matte feel which helps for grip if it gets coated in lubricant or bodily fluids.
The design of the Minuet is fairly straight forward and simple. The shaft is straight with some subtle dips that form ribs. The material is clear so you can see the single bullet that is at the very top of the shaft. In the middle is where the toy is able to flex. It is about 8 1/4" long. A little over 6" over that is insertable. The tip of the Minuet has a nice rounded shape for easy and pain free insertion.
The circumference gradually increases down the length of the shaft. It starts off at 4" at the bulbed end, and the ridges are 4 1/4". At the base of the insertable portion, the circumference increases to 4 1/4". this might not be enough girth for some women. The base flares out to 5 1/5" in circumference around the part that you hold. Due to this flaring, this toy is safe for anal play, but caution should still be used to ensure that this toy doesn't make a trip up your ass that it can't recover from. Don't push past the TPR material. This flared portion also works as a good ripping point for thrusting.
The design is pretty traditional, and therefor, not discreet. Most people will know what it is. It doesn't take up too much space though. It's not great for travel, but does tuck away easily enough in a drawer or bedside table.
The Minuet is very easy to operate, which also makes it great for beginners. At the very end of the base it comes to a point. At the end of the point is a single, soft button. Pressing it will start the first of three vibration settings.
1. A quiet, steady vibration level that is moderate. The vibration are pretty rumbly too. This level is great for those who have an ultra sensitive clitoris or for teasing.
2. A pretty quiet (still can't be heard through a door), steady level of medium leveled vibration. This level had no problem getting me off and didn't cause pain when I climaxed.
3. A high level of steady vibration that might be heard through a door if the vibrator is outside of the body or not making contact with the body. This level should be enough for most women.
You have to cycle through all of the levels to turn the toy off. Since the button is so out in the open, it is easy to bump it on something starting the vibration. If you are traveling with this toy, remove the batteries. This is smart to do when storing also.
This vibrator is waterproof! Due to an o-ring in the battery compartment (that takes two AA batteries in a slide out tray, by the way), this toy can go in the shower and even be submerged. It passed both tests with me. The noise level is even lower when in water.
Be careful when putting in the batteries. I broke my vibrator before I even got to use it once. I was putting my batteries in the tray that slides out. When I was sliding it back in, it wasn't fitting as nicely, so I...jammed it. I couldn't get it back out when I discovered I put it in wrong; the vibration would not start. I had to use a flat head to get it out. It shot out of the vibrator and landed on the kitchen floor which shattered the end of the battery compartment into three pieces. This prevented the metal from making contact in all the correct places. I careful put the pieces back where they should line up and slowly screwed the battery cap back on. This took like 5 minutes and many tries to get it right. I wish I had taken a picture before I did this because now, that sucker isn't coming off until the batteries die!
Good news is that the TPR material is very easy to care for. Just wash it with soap and water after use. TPR is safe to use with water or silicone based lubricants. Let it dry before returning it to its case. I do suggest using the case since the material can melt if it comes in contact with other similar materials.
The Minuet comes in a red metal tin (if you have the Symphony Edition-which I do). The top has clasps that when undone, open the lid like a book revealing the toy inside. the top has a clear pane also showing the toy beneath it. The Minuet sits in a cut out foam piece. The words 'EVOLVED, Minuet Serenade-Symphony Edition' are on the top of the tin. Inside the package is a card that contains information about the warranty. The bottom of the tin has information about the toy and the companies' website is printed on the side. The tin makes a great gift.
I use the Minuet for clitoral stimulation more than I do for vaginal stimulation since the vibrations are strong in the tip. I found that this toy is just a bit too slim/untextured for me. If it were a bit girthier, I don't think I'd be having the same issues. It does well for anal though, again, be cautious. It flexes well enough that it doesn't cause any pain vaginally or anally. The ribs can only be felt if the toy is thrusted really fast. This isn't really my style when I am masturbating, so I found them to be a waste. This toy is more suited for those who like petite sized toys or are beginners to them.
I am giving it 4 stars because it does have 3 speeds, is waterproof, made well, and is fun to look at. It just isn't the right size to really wow me. That isn't to say that it isn't the right size for others.
Follow-up commentaryI don't like it anymore1 month after original review
I quickly grew bored of the Minuet, this is mostly because it is best suited for a beginner or novice to sex toys and the broken battery cap bugged the hell out of me. It is a solid toy, just be careful when inserting or changing batteries! In the time that I owned it, the material did not cloud.
