Pros
USB rechargeable, compact, discreet, powerful, multiple vibration modes.
Cons
A bit loud, can be overcharged.
I love clitoral vibrators, probably more than any other kind. My favorite is a bullet, but I am always looking to try something different, and potentially more powerful while still being small. What drew me to the Mia over others of her size was the way she charged.
The Mia comes in the signature black box, with Lelo on the lid. Inside the box, the Mia is displayed with her cap off, both pieces sitting in plastic. When the cap is on, Mia is about 4 1/4” long. She’s just 7/8” in diameter. She has a glossy, smooth finish and no noticeable seams except the silver band that runs around her middle and separates her body from her cap.
Lift the plastic out of the box, and you’ll find a white satin storage pouch, as well as a small user manual and a USB extension cord.
Yes, USB. The Mia charges by plugging directly into your USB port on your computer, or if space is tight, by plugging into the extension cord. If you have ready access to a computer, you can easily charge the Mia while you work, and unplug her for when you need to take a break. No worries about batteries or finding an empty plug in on your power strip here! Although you may have to make room in your USB hub. Mia can be mistaken for a large flash drive when she’s connected.
Mia doesn’t show up as being mounted on the desktop, but you’ll know she’s charging by the pink LED light flashing under her and – buttons. When she’s done the light will glow steady, which takes about 2 hours if she’s completely run down. Make sure not to charge Mia for more than 24 hours, however. She can be overcharged.
Mia will run up to 4 hours, depending on the vibration intensity you use her on. Her Lithium-ion 3.7 volt battery will hold a charge for up to 90 days, and you’ll know she’s in need of some power-up when the LED light under her buttons glows red instead of pink when either button is pressed.
Pressing the button for about 1 second will turn Mia on. Then her vibration intensity can be increased by pressing or holding down the button or decreased by pressing the – button. She can be turned off by pressing the – button when she is on her lowest vibration.
Mia has about 6 intensities of steady vibration, from very low to very strong and high. When she’s on high, pressing and holding the button will allow you to access Mia’s programmed patterns, which are a slow pulse, a medium pulse, and a fast pulse. Once in the patterns, pressing the button will cycle through them. To go back to a steady vibration, simply press the – button. Her vibrations are concentrated in her non-cap end, but can be felt all over.
Mia is great to travel with. She has a locking mode, which is activated by holding both the and – buttons together for 5 seconds. The LED will light up and then go dark, indicating she’s locked. To unlock, press both buttons for 5 seconds until the LED lights up again. Mia can also be unlocked by plugged her into a USB port. In the locked mode, Mia won’t start unexpectedly in your purse.
Mia is made of abs plastic and silicone. She’s non-porous and phthalates-free. Mia should be cleaned before and after use with warm water and an antibacterial liquid soap (never use any cleaners with alcohol or acetone in them, as they can damage her). She can be rinsed with hot water, and should be dried with a soft, lint-free cloth. Don’t submerge Mia in the water, and take care not to get water in the USB plug. If the plug has any water in it, gentle blowing can remove the water from inside.
Mia should be stored out of direct sunlight in her storage bag or box. She shouldn’t be exposed to heat. If needed, water-based lubricants are safe to use with Mia.

Experience
Mia can be inserted about 1 1/2" for vaginal stimulation, but I find her to work better externally for clitoral stimulation.
With her cap on, Mia looks like she could be a tube of lipstick in your purse, although the Lelo name stamped on her cap may give her away. The cap presses on and pulls off easily (although not so easily it will come uncapped in your purse) to access the USB port.
Mia is discreet looking, but she’s louder than I expected. She runs at an 80 Hz frequency, with a maximum noise level of less than 50 Db, which is less than normal conversation, but louder than a humming refrigerator. She is louder than my cell phone on vibrate. She’s quieter than many vibrators I have, but she’ll probably be heard if you’re using her without any kind of noise in the background.
Mia comes with a one year warranty against defects. The warranty only covers the working parts and not any deterioration of the cover like the name being worn off or the finish becoming damaged. If Mia stops working, she should be brought to a recycling center for disposal.
Mia is a great choice for a discreet, powerful vibrator, especially if you have access to a computer. I would love to see other rechargeable vibrators charge this way!

Follow-up commentary

I still love Mia. She was my first USB chargeable toy, and I really love this feature of her. While I'm hard pressed sometimes to find an open outlet, I always have a free USB port on my computer!
Mia travels in my purse a lot, along with my lipstick vibe. She actually looks like a tube of lipstick in there, if you don't look too close at her base, and she charges discreetly as well. I'm not the most careful when I toss her in my purse, but her surface hasn't scratched or dinged from my sometimes less than careful treatment.
I still think she's a little loud, but she works fine with background noise. I can use her without my husband knowing while he's watching TV, and he never knows what I'm doing (unless he happens to hear me and not Mia).
