Meh
Basic to the point of being boring, it is very buzzy and not very powerful. Even beginners and those without the need for intense power may want to find something that has a greater range of power and/or works better as a dildo.

Pros
Variety of settings, not too intimidating, easy to use and clean
Cons
Small, weak, boring, single button, rather loud
The Body and Soul Desire by California Exotics is a traditional vibrator made from PU coated plastic (rated 7 on the safety scale). It takes two AAA batteries and has a smooth, velvety feel. It is 6 1/4" long (5 1/2" insertable) with a diameter of 3/4".
I've been using sex toys for three years now, yet the only traditional style vibrator I have tried is the Turbo Glider. I thought it was time I tried another. I didn't expect to be overly impressed as I need a lot of power to be able to reach orgasm. This vibrator wasn't able to get me off, but it may be ok if you like buzzy vibrations and are easily overwhelmed by powerful vibrators.
The Desire is easy to use. You twist the base off to reveal the battery compartment, and control the setting via a single button. Holding the button down turns the vibrator off. The inside of the battery compartment is lined with cardboard (to help muffle sound, I presume). Unfortunately, this means you have to give the vibrator a bit of a shake to get the batteries out.
The vibrations are buzzy and not particularly strong. Clitorally, I can feel something, but it's nowhere near enough to get me off. If the vibrations had a bit more rumble they probably would have been more enjoyable to me. The vibrations are focused mostly in the tip of the vibrator, so hand numbing is minimal. Due to the lack of power, I couldn't really appreciate the various vibration patterns. The first three are constant vibration of low, medium and high settings. The rest are rather generic escalations and pulses.
Internally, the Desire wasn't very exciting. I'm not huge on internal vibrations and this toy didn't change my mind. It's small size and lack of texture make it a very basic vibrator. Plastic just doesn't feel great internally. I do like hard materials, but I generally go for toys with some kind of texture or curve. This toy will likely bore anyone who has had a lot experience with toys.
Using this toy for body massage produces more of a tickling sensation than anything else.
It's noise is fairly noticeable (can be heard through a close door if not under a heavy blanket or quilt), but it does not make an annoying whining sound like the Connection does.
Clean this toy with soap and water. You may use either silicone or water based lubricant with it.
If you're new to toys, I'm inclined to recommend that you buy a thin silicone dildo such as the Tantus Silk or Acute and a plastic, clitoral vibrator that is powered by AA batteries. This toy is not particularly stimulating internally or externally, so you're not getting a good 2-in-1 deal. If you must have a traditional vibrator, the Turbo Glider is stronger and more rumbly. People who have had a bit of experience with toys should skip this one, it will likely be too weak and too small to satisfy you.
