Lube for Chicks
Evolved Novelties' Female Lube is a natural, smooth feeling lube that works well for vaginal and toy use. It comes in small bottles so you can try it out without spending a fortune. If you need a glycerin-free lube and you like a light, natural feel, I definitely recommend it.

There are so many types of lube out there to choose from. When I saw this lube, Evolved Novelties' Female Lube, I thought, "How can I go wrong with that? I'm a female, and I'm looking for a lube." I scanned the ingredients (Purified Water (Aqua), Propylene Glycol, Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben), and didn't find anything that concerned me. Some people, however, might be worried by the Propylene Glycol, or the Methyl Paraben and Propyl Paraben, so if those things worry you, be sure to research them before trying this lube.
I noticed that the same company had, at about the same time, released a very similar product, Toy Lube, which I eventually purchased and I really love. I also wrote a review about that lube recently. But in the beginning, I purchased this lube because the Toy Lube was out of stock. The difference between the two lubes is that Toy Lube is glycerin-based, while Female Lube is glycerin-free, with Propylene Glycol as the main ingredient (besides water).
It arrived in a tastefully-labeled bottle. While the label says what the product is, I'm not embarrassed to keep it beside my bed because the tasteful packaging just sort of blends in with whatever else I have on my bedside table. It had a thin plastic seal around the top of the bottle, to keep it from leaking during shipment, and you just peel it away prior to the first use of the product.
The lube itself is of light-to-medium consistency. It pumps out of the bottle nicely; you can either pump out a few drops or press the pump all the way down to get a nice dollop (which will then begin to run down whatever you put it on). There is no noticeable smell when using it. If I take the bottle cap off and take a good whiff, I can smell a very faint slightly chemical smell, but it's barely noticeable and doesn't bother me at all.
I have tried this lube with toys, and it works wonderfully. Just a couple of drops gets your toy to where it needs to be, and gives your natural fluids a little boost. If your body's fluids aren't very plentiful for whatever reason, it does tend to dry out after awhile. I've known people to keep spray bottles beside their beds, so they can give water-based lube a little spray of water, making it last longer. I usually just reapply a little bit more if it's needed. The lube feels very light and natural, and has a good amount of slipperiness without going too far. I like to feel textures and this lube allows that, while still making insertion and thrusting very comfortable. It absorbs into your skin nicely after awhile, so you don't feel the need to take a shower to remove it.
I tried it for sex with my husband, and it was adequate, but dried out a little sooner than we are used to(when we need vaginal lube we normally use, and love, AQUA lube). After trying Female Lube once, we went back to our AQUA. We didn't try the Female Lube for anal sex because it's clearly too thin and light. No taking chances in that department! It also wouldn't work well in water or the shower because as a water-based lube, it would quickly get washed away.
So, in the end, this lube has joined my Toy Lube and I use it during toy masturbation sessions for the most part. The consistency, the feel and smell, and the slipperiness are all very similar to Toy Lube. It is a little bit more expensive than Toy Lube for some reason.

Follow-up commentary
5 days after original review
This lube has been part of my regular repertoire for several months and it's the one I grab when I want light, natural lubrication. I have the large size and it lasts forever!
