Looks Aren't Everything
An elegant looking yet affordable clitoral vibrator. It might be perfect for those who like pinpoint stimulation and don't need a ton of power, but it didn't work for me
Published:
Pros
Attractive, discreet.
Cons
One speed, not truly waterproof, too pointy and not strong enough for me.
I bought the Apollo because I was interested in a pocket rocket style vibrator, but don't like the way most of them look. The Bottle Rockets from Evolved are opaque (I don't like toys I can see through) and come in several attractive shapes and colours. I hadn't tried a vibrator when I purchased this one, so I didn't know which shape I would prefer. I went with the Apollo because it is available in black. Unfortunately I discovered that I would have been better off choosing any of the others.
The Apollo is 4 1/2 inches long with 3 inches being insertable, although I don't think using it for insertion is very effective. It is 7/8 inches wide, which is only slightly thicker than a tampon. It would be better used on the clitoris and vulva. It's not so small that it's difficult to hold, like some bullets.
Made of plastic, it is non-porous, hypo-allergenic, phthalate-free and compatible with any lubricant. It can be cleaned with antibacterial soap and water, or wiped down with isopropyl alcohol. The top part of the toy has a velvety finish and the battery cap is shiny, with a metallic strip separating the two.
This vibrator has a pointed tip, which might be a feature to some, but was the downfall of this vibrator for me. I need some pressure to orgasm and this toy is just too pointy and hard and uncomfortable to be used with more than a light touch. I've tried turning it onto the side but that makes it more awkward to hold and still doesn't give me enough stimulation.
There is a squishy button on the base that turns the toy's single setting on and off. It runs on one AA battery, but I was surprised to find that it didn't feel any stronger than my watch battery powered bullets. It actually has a higher pitched vibration, which makes it feel slightly weaker to me.
The Apollo is supposed to be waterproof, but a small amount of water leaked into the battery compartment when I submerged it. I was able to wash the vibrator under running water without any problems though.

Follow-up commentary

This toy has made it's way to the reject box in the back of my closet. It's just not powerful enough to get the job done, and I find it uncomfortable to use.

This is disappointing! I'd wanted one of these for a while now, but with that vibration level, it would end up in the bottom of the toy box really fast at my house. Thanks for the review!
