Like Captain Hook's hook..only much, much sexier!
The smoothie and I didn't get along at first but now I love my smoothie and never want to be without it. The shaft is extremely rigid and does not give, but using this toy in a gentle manner turns that rigid shaft into a blessing.

Pros
Excellent curve, deep vibrations on steady vibration settings.
Cons
A bit loud, firmness requires caution, weak patterns.
Ben's G-spot smoothie is a hard plastic, velvety soft g-spot vibrator by Mantric. It has an easy push button control that cycles you through 5 different patterns of vibration. It only uses 2 AAA batteries and it's pretty powerful for only using AAAs. The steady vibrations are where the power is out on the smoothie, it's patterns kind of fell short. It has a wider head and then tapers down into a thin shaft on the curve before spreading back out to a wider base. The control button sits atop that wide base and makes changing settings very easy and user friendly. So upon first look this toy looked amazing.
The shape of the smoothie reminded me of Captain Hook. I don't know, maybe that's just because I had just reviewed the Pirate Pendant Vibe. Anyway, it reminded me of a hook. My husband noticed this too because that's what he calls this toy "the hook". But it's sexier then a hook and I'd assume gives much more pleasure than a hook..but hey who am I to speculate what you're into!
I have to say though, that the Smoothie did not make a good first impression during our first play session. Actually I rather disliked the Smoothie. We've since then become friends...good friends. The shaft on the Smoothie is rigid and while that allows the vibrations to carry extremely well it didn't feel very user friendly or ergonomic. I also didn't have any luck at first hitting my g-spot with the smoothie at all that first time. So that coupled with the fact that the toy is a bit loud, I wasn't really enjoying it much at all. So I put it back in my drawer and I didn't come back to it for a few days. I was actually a bit turned off by the smoothie. I didn't want to use it again but I felt I needed to in order to be able to write a good review. I didn't want to just write it off as a bad toy without really giving it a chance. So back I went to do "research".
This time I tried a different approach. I decided that since it was a g-spot toy that was going to be my aim. I figured that if I couldn't enjoy this toy to a climax I was at least going to use its curved design to find just exactly where g-spot is and how to pinpoint it on my own. Usually I am only able to find it during partner play and so I guess I am not actually finding it but instead my husband is. So the smoothie and I set out to rectify that.
I found that if I rocked it back and forth rather then using a thrusting or "come hither" motion I was able to get not only g-spot stimulation but also excellent yet subtle clitoral stimulation. At that point I began to realize what a benefit the rigid shaft is. Because the hard plastic carries vibration so well the thin shaft sends vibrations up and down the entire vaginal wall and then edges out onto the clitoris. It's absolutely amazing and when used in this manner the toy became one of my favorite toys. Because I actually don't like thrusting myself, I enjoy when my husband does it but I don't enjoy thrusting during solo play but I had always tried since that was what worked during partner play. The smoothie allowed me to just rock the toy and my body and reach climax easily and intensely.
Another thing that I liked about the smoothie's design is that while it does offer clitoral stimulation at the base of the shaft you can angle it away if you've had enough clitoral stimulation and want to focus solely on g-spot stimulation. The vibrations that reach the clitoris also aren't overwhelming and it allowed me to build up gradually to a climax which gave me more time to warm up my g-spot.

Experience
This toy's hard plastic material makes me like this toy better for solo play. The firmness can get uncomfortable if too much pressure is put on the pubic bone with it and so I liked using it myself so that I was able to feel the amount of pressure and ease up when needed. I also found that under covers the volume of this toy wasn't bad at all. It could not be heard through a closed door. During partner play I don't normally stay under covers and so this would create quite a buzz that at that point would be heard through a closed door. So, since during "me time" I am usually under covers in case my little nosy bodies end up walking in on me, it worked out well. I've also tried using this toy while laying on my stomach and the handle of the smoothie works great for this angle.
Follow-up commentary
3 months after original review
I do still like the G-spot smoothie though I find I don't use if often because the hard plastic and the manner in which I need to use it to get g-spot stimulation leaves me feeling a little sore and almost bruised. If only this was made out of silicone or TPR..then I would absolutely love it. But, as it is I find that it's just a bit too much especially at the vaginal opening and I think if I was going to re-evaluate the overall rating I'd probably give it a three just because I am not able to use it that much do the hard rigid shaft and angles.
