It is what it is!
I wasn't "Ooh-ing" or "Aah-ing" when I first opened this toy; however, after using it, I discovered that it's a satisfactory bargain toy which should get things going nicely. If you can ignore the touchy control knob long enough to get off, then it's a decent way to start exploring in the realm of sex toys.

Pros
Powerful, Waterproof, Phthalate free, Average Size, Reasonable price.
Cons
Control dial is too sensitive.
The Groovies Slimline is a traditional vibrator made exclusively for EdenFantasys. It's an acceptable entry-level toy for a beginner or someone with a limited budget, whether playing solo or as a couple. There's nothing fancy about it and it should get the job done efficiently. It certainly doesn't lack power, which is one of the best feature this toy offers.
It can be used as an external tease or for internal pleasure as a dildo, but preferably just vaginally, since it lacks a flared base for anal use, unless you can keep a firm grip on it. It's also waterproof and will be safe for shallow water play or the shower.
MATERIAL & TEXTURE
The Slimline is just your average plastic vibrator, but it's a bit nicer in that the coating is a velvety polyurethane finish that won't peel off. I don't feel this type of matte finish makes it all that less slippery once lube is applied, but visually, it makes it less chintzy looking. Being that it's constructed of hard plastic, it's also non-porous, so it's relatively safe to share without a condom. Besides, you would need a pretty thin condom to use with it so it won't slip off. It's extremely rigid, so be gentle if you are going to use this for any type of thrusting. There's also no texture to the toy, it's surface is completely smooth and seamless. No smell or taste was noted.
SIZE & DESIGN
There's very little wasted length with this toy. With roughly 6 inches of insertable length (7.5" total length), which is what I would consider average and more than adequate, and a diameter of 1-1/8 inches, the Slimline is sure to appeal to a wide range of users. I like that it's long enough that I can hold it in the palm of my hand and stretch my index finger out along the length of the shaft for better control (see picture) when I'm rubbing my nipples, labia, or clitoris or even tickling my partner's scrotum with it.
Simplistic yet sophisticated is how I would describe the design of this toy. There are no secrets to how it operates, no special features or magic buttons. It comes in pink or purple. I have the light purple color, and both have a ring of silver plastic demarcating the battery compartment from the main shaft. The control dial is flush with the base of the toy. The tip is tapered, but rounded. Still, it's not anything I'd want to pound myself with as it could result in a sore cervix.
Operation
The bottom unscrews from the main shaft with one swift motion and two-AA batteries are inserted inside. There's a rubber gasket for impermeability, which adequately kept water out.
The control dial is grooved to make it easy to adjust the settings, almost too easy in fact! In my opinion, it should be a little harder to turn, so that when in use, it doesn't accidentally go from low to high. That's my only issue with the toy's quality. I want to be able to set it on high and not worrying about it decreasing in intensity when I've almost reached climax.
As far as what the toy can do, it goes from low to high vibrations. That's it. No bells and whistles, but that alone should be satisfactory for most users. There's no rattling of parts, the humming is very steady. It's loud, but masking most of the sound should be easy with plenty of covers and a shut door. The tip ran a little warm because that is where the motor is located, but it was bearable. I wouldn't leave this running on high for extended periods of time anyhow.
EASY CARE
Clean-up is a breeze. Just rinse off with anti-bacterial soap and warm water or a toy cleaner, then dry. It doesn't collect much lint, if any at all. Any type of lubricant is compatible with the Slimline.
I recommend removing the batteries before storing it in a drawer, as it does seem to be prone to self activation because of that touchy dial.
It's not discreet, but it's easy to pack. Just remember to remove the batteries!
SHINING STAR OR FALLING STAR?
I'm giving it 3 stars, knocking off a half star because I prefer a toy to be a bit softer and flexible for internal use; however, externally the Slimline performed quite well. It loses 1.5 starts for the temperamental control dial.

Experience
I received this as free GWP with my order, and it's not something I would have chosen to purchase for myself since I've had the pleasure of experiencing a vast variety of better quality toys. However, honestly, it's really not all that bad, with the exception of the loose control dial. I've used some pricier toys that performed much worse and were too loud for somewhat discreet use.
I've best enjoyed this toy by rubbing it on my labia and bringing myself to orgasm by turning the power up all the way and working my clitoris. Other than that, it's nothing out of this world, but if I were stuck on a deserted island with only this, it would work just fine.

Follow-up commentary

Ah well, looks like my picture was removed. I don't even remember what it was of! Either way, this toy was a fun bonus item, but nothing I would want to play with on a regular basis.

So bizarre that my dial was hard to turn! I ditched it before I could tell if it loosened with time. Great review!

Great review, and thanks for the picture

My dial was EXTREMELY loose.

This is going to sound like a very silly question... But does the velvet-shaft come off the top of your groovies slimline?
-
Great review thanks
