The Waterproof Pixies Glider is definitely a beginners toy. If this is your first experience with clitoral stimulation, or your first toy at all, you will probably find this a good gateway to the world of vibrators. If you are an experienced or even moderate toy user already you will more likely than not be very underwhelmed.

Pixie, as I call her, is designed for clitoral stimulation and has a curved tip that is flat on one side. You could also use this toy for vaginal penetration to stimulate the g-spot, and while I imagine it could be used for anal-play it is not designed with that purpose in mind. You could also use this toy on other erogenous zones, such as the nipples. The waterproof ring makes Pixie easy to use alone in the bedroom, the shower, or wherever you see fit, or as a teaser toy with your partner.

The Pixie Glider is made of hard plastic that has no drag to the material. It is not flexible which makes it ideal for clitoral and g-spot stimulation. Pixie is very smooth and will glide over your skin easily with a very small amount of lubrication. The material ranks as an 8 on Eden Fantasy's Safety Index, which means it is hypoallergenic, latex free, phthalates free, and non-porous.

Immediately after opening the package, I noticed there was little to no smell coming from the product itself. The only scent I could pick up on was the faintest bit of a factory-like plastic smell that came from the packaging it was wrapped in. I rinsed the product quickly with soap and warm water and noticed there was no taste either.

I received Pixie in purple and thought the overall design was very cute. It has silver glitter embedded in the plastic, and is very non-threatening in appearance; making this toy great for a beginner. This toy is very small and discreet, ideal for travel or a college dorm type setting, however if left laying out on a shelf it would not be hard to guess its purpose.

Not much larger than a standard size sharpie, this toy measures at 5 3/4" in length, 5" of which is insertable, and is 3/4" in diameter. It is very light weight and easy to toss in a bag or pocket for transporting from the bedroom to the shower in privacy.

To turn Pixie on you simply press the white rubbery button on the end and she springs to life. There is only one setting and a second push of the button will turn all vibrations off. Most of the vibration is felt near the slanted tip, as it should be for this type of vibrator.

Pixie's slanted edge is designed to be held directly against the clitoris however I found that when inserted the slanted edge was also rounded appropriately for g-spot stimulation.

Pixie is waterproof and after submerging completely in water for 10 minutes it still functioned properly. It's incredibly quiet and can barely be heard when held in your hand with a sink faucet turned on. However, what it makes up for in low volume it loses in power and function.

There are only two settings to this toy; it is either turned on or off. It's incredibly easy to understand and requires no instructions to use. The vibrations are concentrated at the tip but are much weaker than I would expect from 2 AAA batteries. I would compare the power to that of toy that runs on 1 AAA battery.

I did leave Pixie running for 45 minutes and noticed the power and volume were consistent, so it won't wear your batteries down too quickly, but I would gladly exchange some of that battery conservation for more power. Also, after 45 minutes of being left turned on I noticed the plastic had heated slightly and was warm to the touch.

Pixie is about as low maintenance as possible when it comes to toys. Just wipe with your favorite toy cleaner, or rinse with warm water and soap. She is waterproof, so as long as her cap is in place and closed tightly you won't have any problems placing this toy directly under the faucet.

Since this toy is made of a hard plastic shell you can use any of your favorite lubricants; water based, silicone, petroleum, or any oil-based lubricant will work just fine. Keep in mind that you won't need more than a drop or two since the plastic is very smooth and glides easily along your skin all on its own.

Pixie plays well with others and can be stored either in the original plastic or with other toys in just about any container you have. The plastic does not collect dust, lint, or pet hair like other materials; however I always recommend cleaning before and after each use for all your toys.

Pixie comes packaged in an upright clear plastic trapezoid, meaning that it is not perfectly square but still easy enough to wrap as a gift. The package is not discreet at all and clearly displays the toy in the front through the plastic, as well as depicting a woman in a very shiny purple bathing suit. There is an icon indicating that this toy is waterproof as well as the California Exotic Novelties logo.

There is not much in the way of instructions on the packaging itself, but there is a website address which does provide slightly more information, although admittedly not much. The packaging is very minimal and only contains the advertisement card stock and a small folded battery insertion guide. The battery guide appears to be a standard issue inclusion and is not geared specifically for this toy.

You can store Pixie back in this packaging, however for space saving reasons I would just as soon store her with my other toys and toss the plastic casing.

There is nothing particularly wrong with Pixie, and she would make a great toy for a beginner, however that being said I was very underwhelmed with Pixie's performance. The vibrations were not as strong as I would have liked, and I found the shape of the tipped edge did not conform to my bodies curves in a way that provided pinpoint pressure.

I won't be throwing Pixie in the garbage, but she won't be a regular in my nightstand, and I would have to follow up use with another toy to finish the job. While I did reach climax with this toy it required a great deal more concentration and work than I would expect from a clitoral vibe; far more than I'd care to put into a second solo use.
