Ideal sex toy review
A really great vibe, with plenty of power at both settings, a uniquely comfortable handle, and a quiet buzz for the strength
Published:
Pros
shape of head, shape of handle, strength of vibe, rechargeable
Cons
forgetting to recharge
I’ve had my Ideal for four months, and I love it! I’ve tried other vibrators, including the Hitachi|Sex toys reviews: Hitachi magic wand that others rave about, but I have nerve damage in my wrists, and the angles on the others never worked for me. Reaching and stretching to get the heads in just the right place made my hands go numb at the most inopportune moments. The angled handle on the Ideal is comfortable, makes reaching easy and varied, and allows for many different angles, all of them good.
I appreciate the design and feel of the head of this vibe. The size is large enough to make contact all along my labia, and the springiness of the head attachment allows for pressure that is intense without being too hard.
The vibration on the Ideal is powerful. Even on the low setting, it can be a little too intense for direct clit contact at first. I’ve found that moving it around my labia, including pressure against my vaginal opening, does a lot to increase the blood flow and build my excitement, until I’m ready for intense, direct contact. Sometimes the lower setting is quite enough, but when I need more, the extra strength of the harder pulse is much appreciated. With the head pushed against the pubic bone, and the setting on high, I can feel the pulsing from my knees to my nipples, with waves of intensity passing for many seconds after the Ideal is turned off. Because I also enjoy penetration, I still want to check out the various g-spot attachments.
The angled handle also makes the Ideal useful for actual muscle massage. I can use it to release tension and spasm in my shoulders and lower back, which is itself a nice prelude to orgasm.
The Ideal massager|Massager by Natural contours will hold a charge for several active rounds, but it is important to remember to recharge! If it runs all the way down, recharging takes several hours, so you don’t want to be taken by surprise. To me, this is worth it, for I find the electrical cords annoying at best and entangling at worst, and endless batteries expensive and environmentally nasty.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
Two months later, and I still love my Ideal vibe. Because my life is busy and anything not on the Palm is not likely to happen, I've programmed a reminder to charge it that pops up every Thursday morning. Out of bed, plug it in, off to work, home again later and there it is, all ready to go.
As I've had more time to learn how my body responds to the stimulation of the vibe, I've grown to like how the head is attached even more. Held lightly against muscle or labia, it has a loose and wide vibration. Pushed down tightly, the vibration is tight and intense.
I've tried it with one kind of g-spot stimulator -- not the famous Gee whiz|Sex toys reviews: Gee whiz, but a product made from a softer natural rubber. I've found that attachment to be too soft -- it doesn't go in deep enough, and the weight of the rubber really reduces the power of the vibe. So I think I'll be shelling out the money for the brand name. If it is as much fun as the vibe, it will be money well spent.
After some happy experimenting, I've found another use for that ergonomically-angled handle. If a woman were, say, wearing nipple clamps|Clamps with a long chain, the curved tip of the handle, if pointed up towards the breasts, could be hooked through the hanging section of the chain, such that the vibes that are making her clit dance can be directly translated to the nipples, preventing horrid nipple jealousy or abandonment issues.
The only drawback to the vibe I've found is that the temptation to play a little bit in the morning is sometimes too great, leading to my dog whining in her crate as if the world were ending. The whining I can handle, but being held under the intense glare of a cattle dog while thrashing about alone on the bed is just a bit embarrassing.

I have been looking at this one too because I hear the Hitachi is heavy and I have a disability that affects my hands as well. Someone who works for Eden told me that all the products by this company that makes the Ideal are made to be disability-friendly. Great review.
