Yes, I'm a geek girl. Yes, I'm middle aged. Kegels and comic books... I saw these and read another reviewer who commented that she had a devil tail poking out of her vagina, and I knew when trying to decide which set of kegel balls were going to be my first, that these were the set for me.

There are two significant things to keep in mind when reading this:

1. I'm super tall and have a deeeeep vagina (these aren't petite little things).
2. I don't do any anal play at all, so I can't speak to that audience, other than the academics.

These are fabulous for their primary job as a kegel exerciser. They are designed from silicone, with a safety rating of 10, and they have the handy little tail/pull to make them safe for "cautious" anal play. I'd keep track of the tail at all times, so that they don't get lost in an anal cavity.

The Dare Devil is made from a silicone main sleeve that holds the balls, and the balls themselves are hard plastic. On the product details, it lists that this toy is only silicone... that is not entirely accurate, as I've explained.

Nevertheless, this toy is: "Food-grade material / Hypoallergenic / Latex free / Non-porous / Phthalates free", with a safety rating of 10.

There is no discernible smell to the balls or the sleeve. The balls are a hard, shiny, smooth, and slippery plastic, which fit into a silicone sleeve, which has heart cut-outs for the balls to come in and out for cleaning.

The silicone sleeve has a bit of a "grippy" drag to it, and I use water-based lube when I insert mine. This silicone is very resilient. It easily endures the stress of pulling out the kegel balls when they are seated firmly beyond, or behind, my pelvic bone and tucked up by my cervix by the thin "devil tail".

There is a "flame" texture that sticks up approximately a millimeter around the heart cut-outs, and there is a slight bump in the seam, but I don't feel any of that when I'm inserting, or wearing, them. Please note, I'm middle of the road on texture sensitivity, so these might bother folks who are extra texture aware.

The design is visually cute, but this is where the Dare Devil lost its 5th star for me, and I will go more into that in the cleaning section.

For use, the design is perfect "if" these fit your body, and if you aren't extra texture sensitive. They fit my body perfectly, and the 2 rumbly balls that are inside the hard plastic balls feel great when they settle and move as you wear the Dare Devil.

Including tail, it is 7 inches long.
Each ball is 2 inches tall, 1.5 inches wide, and 4.5 inches around. That's roughly the shape and size of a medium USDA AA egg. The tail is 3 inches long. The product description says that it weighs .2 pound, but I don't have anything that can verify that slight a weight measurement.

When disassembled for cleaning, this toy is actually 3 parts; the sleeve, and 2 hard plastic balls. I tried to show this in my picture, but it's hard to get a clear photo.

The hard plastic balls are actually hollow, and have some type of weighted smaller ball inside that rolls around and rumbles randomly as you go about your day. This is the heart of what makes this exercise your kegels. When it moves, your kegel muscles involuntarily grab the toy. Additionally, I find that when I feel the whole gizmo inside of me, I consciously work my kegel too. Tthis beats the heck out of counting my kegels while waiting for the bus.

As to being discreet... I truly don't think that, unless you worked in a women's health clinic or were versed in sex toys, you'd have any idea what these were. Anyone who came over to my house would assume that it's an odd and poorly designed cat toy.

**Please note: I used an Extra Large egg, and the balls are the size of a small or medium egg.

This is were the Dare Devil earned all of the four stars I gave it. I've been doing 300 kegels a day for... well, a long time. The stories of my Great Grandma who whittled her own pessary out of wood, because her vagina prolapsed, scared me since I was a kid. Okay, well, it freaked me out after I went and looked up "vaginal prolapse" and "pessary". So, when I discovered all the options Eden provided for kegel balls, and how they encouraged my kegels to voluntarily flex without me thinking about it, I was on board!

I think that smaller women would have a hard time with this set, but these fit my stature and curves like a glove. They nestle perfectly between the curve of my pelvic bone and the bottom of my vagina at my cervical area.

To put them in, I got in my favorite "inserting tampon" position and held the top ball and inserted it first, then I let the rest of the toy follow it in. Once I got the top ball in place, I then just made small adjustments for comfort with the second ball and the tail.

I find that the tail is so flexible and soft that I don't feel it during wear at all.

These balls have a rumbly solid "thunk" when the balls settle while in use, but there is no sound externally. No one will know you are wearing them, and you may even have a sassy bounce in your step from the feel of them in your vagina, and knowing that you have a slightly naughty secret and a devil tail hanging out of your vagina.

I find that my kegels have gotten stronger, which has improved the length and strength of my orgasms significantly.

I wear these almost every day, and I will be buying more. For me, I'll be looking at large and rumbly sets, as that is what works for me. I won't get another one of the Dare Devils, only because the cleaning is really vexing, but I will definitely rotate them out. As with any workout, your kegels benefit in a rotation, change in weight, and duration of your workout.

The Dare devil is also small enough and makes no noise, so it would travel easily.

Minus 1 star, and here are my issues:

1. Very difficult to get the balls out of the silicone sleeve to clean.
2. The points on the hearts flip up very easily when any surface (fingers or perhaps the inside of your vagina) rubs against them. It could cause unwanted drag or texture, or could be a place for really icky stuff to get stuck.
3. Lint magnet

This design means you HAVE to take it apart every time to get it clean, and getting the balls back into the silicone, AND into the right orientation is really difficult. The silicone of the sleeve holds and grips the surface of the hard plastic balls. I did try adding less than a drop of water-based lube to help get them in, and that helps the balls not grip, but then the silicone slips as well, and then the whole device turns into a sling shot with the plastic balls shooting across the room.

Between being a dust magnet, and the design, I find that I'm washing these all the time.

The upside is that you can boil the silicone sleeve, or use toy cleaner on this toy on both pieces. Don't boil the plastic balls though.

I don't normally keep toys in their plastic cheapo clam-shell plastic packages, but this one is small enough, and I find it keeps a lot of the dust and cat hair off the toy.

This comes in a simple clear plastic, molded clam-shell case, with a hole to hang the Dare Devil on a display rack. When you open the case, there is a single plastic coated sheet of paper, that on the front says simple Dare Devils, and that Hustler makes it. The back side gives a bullet pointed explanation of the material and that these are kegel balls. In a nutshell, it's fairly straight forward, what you see is what you get packaging.

I don't normally keep toys in their plastic cheapo clam-shell plastic packages, BUT this one is small enough, and I find it keeps a lot of the dust and cat hair off the toy. So, in this case, yes, it's great for storage.

I admit, I was a bit of a sucker for the cute idea of the design, and while I had a lot of issues with the upkeep on this toy... It fits me perfectly, and it does its job REALLY well. For me, the Dare Devil was a good choice. I do strongly encourage every female to start doing their kegels -- it improves their enjoyment of their sex lives, but most importantly, down the road it makes for great pelvic floor health.

I'm very glad that I've added the Dare Devil to my toy box.

I've been doing kegels for some time, and I saw improvement in the duration of my orgasms after a short time. Since using the Dare Devils, I've finally been able to have an all body climax -- which at nearly 50, I thought was just not ever going to happen. Thank you, Dr. Kegel, and Hustler toys.
