Half Goat, Half Fish
The Capricorn might be an exciting find for someone who likes the idea of a toy symbolizing their star sign, but, other than that, it is a fairly mediocre vibrator.
Published:
Pros
100% silicone covering; interesting texture.
Cons
Not very powerful; poor controller for the the vibration level.
I thought the Capricorn was just ok as vibrators go. If you really love the idea of a vibrator symbolizing an astrological sign, I see no reason not to go for it. I also think you could easily do better if you are just looking for a great vibrator to get off with.
The Capricorn does get points for being covered in 100% silicone, a relative rarity in vibrators. Silicone is a great sex toy material because it is soft, hypoallergenic, nonporous, and easy to sanitize. This could conceivably be a major advantage if you share your vibrators with multiple partners and have time to sanitize the toy between users (i.e. aren't sharing in the same session).
Unfortunately, the toy isn't waterproof, which makes cleaning between uses/users a bit trickier. You can clean it with soap and water, toy cleaner, or 10% bleach solution, as long as you keep the base dry during the process.
The vibrations from the Capricorn really aren't very strong, even on their highest setting. They are definitely weaker than those produced by a couple of cheap plastic vibrators that I own which also run on two AA batteries.
Luckily, the shape is certainly more stimulating than your average straight up and down "wand" style vibrator when used internally.
Can we talk about the shape for a minute? I am never quite sure what I am looking at. I can't exactly blame the designers here. The Sea Goat can't be the easiest image to turn into an erotic, insertable design. The vibrator has curly goat horns in raised relief along both sides, sort of. I suppose you could call it a wavy pattern. So, I guess it has elements that could be called both sea and goat without having poky goat horns or fish tails sticking out, which seems fairly clever to me.
It also has a bit of overall curvature/undulating bumpiness that feels pretty good inside my vagina. It's nice, but it's just not amazing. I own so many toys that feel so much better that I just don't see myself using this one much.
I would have given this toy three stars and called it dead average in the sea of vibrators out there, but when mine arrived it didn't work. I had to disassemble the base and bend the (luckily, very obviously) bent spring back into position before I could get the vibrator to actually vibrate. Any toy I have to get all MacGyver just to get it started automatically looses a star in my book.
My understanding is that the Astrovibe series is a re-release of a discontinued product line, and it looks to me like Fun Factory did not update anything about the product in the new release. They have updated the bases on their newer vibrators, and it is really a shame that they didn't do so for this product.
