Great toy, but not for me
I would say that the High Intensity Bullet is a great toy for someone who is concerned about neighbors or roommates discovering the toy; it is small, nondescript, and quiet. However, because it has high-frequency vibrations, it might not be effective for someone who prefers deeper sensations.

Pros
Quiet, discreet, small, strong, easy to use
Cons
Buzzy vibrations, loud third setting
The High Intensity Bullet is the first sex toy I've ever used (although not the first thing I used as a sex toy . . .) and I think it's a great for a first-time experience. It's simple to use - you just hold down the button to cycle through the different speeds and to turn it off. It's plastic, meaning it's very easy to clean. It's also small, making it easy to explore with.
For me, what is more important is how discreet the bullet is. This toy is really, really small - although I saw the pictures and the video reviews, I was surprised at how nondescript the bullet appeared to be: It's about the length of my index finger and the width of my thumb. It has no words or lettering on it. It does not look like a sex toy and blends in perfectly with pens, highlighters, markers, and other miscellaneous items one might have in their drawer or bag.
There is one caveat, though, and it relates to the noise level of the toy. The first two settings get two bees, while the highest setting gets three. I put the toy on my bed, put the covers over it, then stood outside my door, listened, and was able to hear it faintly. On the one hand, I don't think anyone passing by would notice it; they would have to be deliberately trying to hear it in order to detect it. On the other hand, there was a lot of ambient noise, so the sound might be more noticeable in quieter places.
Perhaps the most important thing about this toy is whether or not it has brought me to orgasm: It has not. It has a pleasant sensation to it, but I cannot describe it as arousing. However, I suspect that this has more to do with the type of vibrations rather than the power of the toy. This type of toy has "buzzy" vibrations, very similar to what cellphones and electric toothbrushes have. All of my past experience has been with lower-frequency vibrations (think: body massagers), and so I suppose that I've developed a preference for them.

Follow-up commentary
18 days after original review
Unfortunately, I still haven't orgasmed with this toy; but I don't think my opinion of it has gotten any worse. Since the last review, I've gotten the Iconic Bullet, which is very similar to this one; and the Ultimate Massager, which I prefer significantly. Because the UM is much more effective than this toy is, I don't think I'll be using this one anymore, at least not by itself.
One thing to note - the toy doesn't always start up when I immediately turn it on. In order to get it to work, I have to take the cap off and screw it back on. I first noticed it after it fell onto the floor while turned on. It still works, but I'm concerned that this toy might not be able to take a lot of abuse (which is unfortunate for someone clumsy like me!)
Overall, I would say it's a good first toy; but I won't miss it when it dies.
