This is a great vibe, even if it didn't work quite as I expected it to. The vibrations are strong, the toy is amazingly quiet, and it just looks fun. It's bright orange and see-through! Even though I don't get the nice pinpoint g-spot vibrations the toy was designed for, the size and shape of it along with the ribbing make it a great insertable toy anyway.

Pros
Good size, bright color, strong vibrations, quiet
Cons
Weak point in the jelly, curved tip not right for my anatomy
This toy is meant to be a G-Spot vibrator, but I find it works better for me as a clitoral vibrator. I think this is probably just a matter of individual anatomy and that it would work fine as a g-spot vibe for other women. The vibrator in it is very strong, but to me the placement of the bent tip and the vibrations just doesn't hit the right spots. The raised bumps on the bent tip do provide great clitoral stimulation and are right over the embedded vibrating egg, making it a wonderful clitoral vibrator even for those who can't use it for g-spot stimulation. Also, even though it doesn't do wonders at g-spot stimulation for me, it still feels really good for penetration. This is a very wide toy with a lot of length. It may be too big for some people, but for anyone who really likes a "full" feeling from their toys, this is perfect. The varying speeds are great, varying from a low, teasing buzz to a very strong vibration. There is a level for everyone. Even on the highest level, it's still very quiet, too. A closed door is enough to muffle the sounds of this toy even on high. Monique's Vivid Dreams is also waterproof, so you can take it in the shower or tub with you! Just make sure it's tightly closed up first, and I would try to avoid getting the control dial wet just to be safe.
This toy is made of jelly, which has a nice firm but flexible feel but is not a very safe material. It is semi-porous and can't be sterilized like silicone toys and should not be shared with others who you do not share fluids with unless condoms are used. The texture of it is ribbed and there are some raised dots on the bent tip for extra stimulation. I love the texture, the ridges and bumps add a lot of stimulation when the toy is inserted and the bumps on the end add a lot of extra sensation when using it externally as a clitoral vibrator. The toy is fairly flexible but doesn't stay flexed, so while you can bend it to reach the right spots inside you, it won't stay there very well. The jelly also had a pretty strong scent and a chemical-like taste at first (if it has a funny smell, I can't help seeing if it has a taste too,) but after a few washes with mild soap and water both have diminished.
Personally, I find that jelly toys really need some lubrication to make using them feel good. The material is not smooth and slick like silicone or velvet cote, and kind of pulls at skin if not properly lubricated. Water-based or silicone-based lubricants are fine with this toy, and silicone works GREAT if you want to use this waterproof toy in the tub.
While Monique's Vivid Dream is designed as a g-spot toy, it really didn't do much for me in that regard. I think the curved tip was a little too curved for me. Toys with a more gentle slope seem to hit my g-spot better, but I would imagine if similarly shaped toys work for you, this will hit you in the right spot. Despite it not working well for giving me amazing g-spot orgasms, I do love the length and girth on this toy. I think it scared my boyfriend a little when he first saw it, it's much bigger than anything else I have. He thought he'd hurt me if he tried using it on me. It has nearly seven inches of insertable length and it is more than an inch and a half in diameter. The base gives it a full eight-and-a-half inch length. The ridges and bumps on this vibe are also very nice for extra sensation. The only downside to the design that I've found is the vibrating motor at the end is pressing against the jelly on the side opposite the curved tip. I think it may eventually rip through the jelly. Because the vibe is right at the base of the curved tip and is straight instead of curved, it stretches out the back side of the curve a little in an area with very thin jelly around it. The upside of this is this little bump has some of the strongest vibrations in the whole toy, which is nice for pinpoint vibrations. I just hope it doesn't cause the toy to break.
As for discretion... if you need a lot of discretion and don't have a nice toy box to close this thing up in, look elsewhere. It's big and bright orange, and clear so you can see the batteries and the motor. I keep all my toys in a drawer in my nightstand and I had to stick this one in a separate drawer because it needed a lot of room, almost the whole length of the drawer. Don't be afraid, it's a pretty small nightstand. But really, don't expect this toy to just slip into a small hiding spot or to be discreet in a suitcase. Also, on the topic of storage, like all jelly toys this should be stored alone or in a bag of some sort, jelly toys can kind of melt together if touching other jelly toys. Also make sure it's clean and dry before storing it.
I love the one-handed dial on this vibe. In the base, there is a simple turn dial like those found on the end of some toys, but this one is located on the side of the base for easier access. The dial turns easily from off to a low setting all the way to a high setting. No buttons or switches, just a easy to turn dial that can be reached with one finger to adjust it to your liking. The vibrations in this toy come from what looks like an egg vibrator which is located near the tip of the toy, which focuses the vibrations near the g-spot tip instead of the base of the toy, which I really like. The vibrations are where you want them, not at your hand making it go numb. In so many toys with the vibrations in the base, the tip doesn't vibrate much at all, and honestly, the tip is where you want the power, right? The location of the vibrations also makes this a great external clitoral vibe, which is how it works best for me. Holding it along my stomach with the curved tip cupping my clit and the four raised bumps rubbing against me is perfect. It is very quiet for the strength of the vibrations as well.
I was pretty skeptical at first about the claims that the toy is waterproof. The dial seemed like a weak point. But, one very fun bath later, I was convinced. As long as the base is screwed on tight and the seal is good, water does it no harm. Underwater, it was practically silent, too.
One of the best things I've discovered about this toy is that it doesn't seem to eat batteries quite as fast as some of my other toys. After a month of pretty frequent use I haven't even noticed a decrease in power.
This toy is pretty easy to care for. I keep mine in a drawer, lightly wrapped in a lint-free cloth. I clean it with soap and mild water after every use, dry it off with a towel, and wrap it up. Being made of jelly, it is a bit of a dust magnet, but keeping it wrapped up keeps lint and dust from clinging to it. In the case that it does get grimy, a quick wash will clean it right up. Because it is not silicone-based, you don't have to worry about what kind of lube you use with this vibe. Water-based or silicone lube will work fine and will not damage your toy, but close contact with other jelly toys may cause some damage. This is another reason it is good to wrap this toy up when you aren't using it.
This toy comes in a very pretty plastic box with Monique, the Vivid Girl it is named for, on the front in some sexy lingerie. There is a window in the front so you can see the actual toy. There isn't much information on the box other than that the toy is made of PVC and it is waterproof. If you are giving this as a gift, the box is very pretty as long as the person you are giving it to doesn't mind a half-naked porn star being on the cover. It does not make a very good storage box. I tried. The little plastic insert in the box is hard to get in and out and it is hard to get the toy exactly in the little plastic tray like it came. So it ended up in the trash. Also, just so you know, batteries are not included! I was pretty sad when I realized that it didn't come with the two AA's needed and I was out of AA's at home when this came in.
Not discreet
Pretty packaging
Follow-up commentaryI've started to like it more29 days after original review
After more and more trying, I still haven't had this toy really do anything for my G-spot. I've come to terms with the idea that it just won't work as designed for me. But, I've also come to realize that it makes an excellent clitoral stimulator, even if it is a little hard to maneuver. It also makes a good warm-up vaginally. I like the girth and the vibrations are nice, if not pinpointed into the right spots. Above all, it's quiet, which is more than I can say for a lot of my toys, so it's the one I grab when I need a little discretion.
