Footless and Fancy Free
With Fantasy Lingerie's Sheer Footless Pantyhose you have tights that are both cute and versitile. They are everything their pictures suggests and some things their picture wouldn't bother to inform you of. If you're looking for a set of pantyhose that is primarily for limited time use then these will fit your needs. However if your expecting a durable, long lasting product I advise moving on.

Overview
I was delighted to receive Fantasy Lingerie’s Sheer Footless Pantyhose during Eden’s Secret Santa Gift Exchange from Sammi (Thanks Again!) this past December. These tights had found their way to the top of my accessory list since they were affordable, super cute, multipurpose, and made by Fantasy Lingerie. While I had no previous experience with hose made by this manufacturer I have always been pleased with their lingerie items in the past. After mostly good experiences with this brand why would I expect these sheer, black, one-size-fits-most pantyhose to be any different? What I was to find out was that Fantasy Lingerie seems to be lacking in the quality pantyhose department.
Material and Texture
As someone who owns tights that are warm enough to withstand a rainy night without even hint of a breeze as well as tights that make you feel every bit of chill I would say this material is the middle ground. Thin enough so you won’t get sweaty while wearing them, assuming you’re not wearing them during the summer, while still providing a small layer of warmth for a cool evening out. According to the product page, the Sheer Footless Pantyhose are said to be 100% nylon. There is no tag on the product itself and, unfortunately, I threw away the packaging before checking to see if this was true. Though as far as I can tell it is. While soft against my skin the nylon has proven to not be made of the best quality once I took these lovelies for a test drive. Although these pantyhose may feel like they’re of a silky smooth high quality material in reality they have a major flaw, they snag. Personally, I’m used to getting runs in my hose that’s nothing new. Heck I’m even used to holes. But what I don’t see too often, albeit I do see them, is snags. I’m not just saying these nylons snagged a bit and here I am complaining. No, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many snags on a pair of nylons before after one use. Below I took pictures of a few of the snags that ended up on my hose during the several hours I was wearing them. While this is by no means the worst that could have happened to them, in my opinion runs are much worse, it still makes me doubt the quality of this material.
Design and Craftsmanship
The simplistic design of the sheer footless pantyhose was a main part of its appeal when I first saw them. It is difficult to find tights that have something out of the ordinary from the hundreds of tired old designs out there. Most of us are used to wearing leggings when we want something footless that will still keep our legs warm underneath our attire. Adding a stylish twist to your everyday outfit these sheer tights cut off at the ankle making them cute to wear with heels or booties depending on the occasion. It was nice to see that these pantyhose are so versatile they work for both going out on the town and to wear casually. The only flaw in the footless design depends on the customer’s purpose for wearing them. If you’re looking to show a hint on ankle the length is something to think about, personally at 5’3 I felt this didn’t show as much of my ankles as I would have liked.
Beginning of the Evening
Packaging and Cleaning
These hose came in the type of flat cardboard envelope that a lot of pantyhose you may see at a department store tend to be packaged in. It had a picture of the leg model on the front wearing the product and a clear opening in the middle of the envelope that allows you to view the pantyhose. Since I threw the box away I cannot remember how Fantasy Lingerie suggests cleaning these but from my own experience with their delicacy I would suggest hand washing in cold water and air drying them.

This is a one size fits most pantyhose fit me pretty well. They were not snug to the point of having the girdle effect that can make you look disproportioned. Nor were they loose around the waist, knees, or ankles. All in all I would say that they fit me fairly well and can stretch to accommodate others going into a size 8 or 9 in pants. As for the length I have to say I wished they had been a little shorter since they made it down to the hollow of my ankle. Depending on the shoes you plan on wearing with these tights and if the amount of visibility at the ankle matters to you, you should take height into consideration.

What I wasn’t so fond of
They snag! Oh do these ever snag! I cannot in good conscience recommend these to anyone who hopes this product will give you a bang for your buck. The picture up top is of me putting these nylons on for the first time before going out for the evening and the pictures at the bottom are from the end of the night. Unfortunately I did not think to take pictures of my legs at the beginning of the night from all angle to show you that the product was entirely snag-less and intact when I left the house. When I came back there were snags like the ones pictured below in several places. Now maybe if I had worn these out around the house they would have been fine…maybe. But I admit I went out and a lot of walking did occur. It could be that I snagged them in several places that night while moving about. But if that’s the case I have plenty of pairs of pantyhose that would have survived the night unscathed and have in the past. What's the point in wearing cute accessories like these if you can’t go out in them?

What I liked
I don’t know about you but I’m someone who goes through hose fairly quickly. Or at least I manage to put a tear somewhere in my pantyhose fairly quickly and if I can apply some clear polish before said tear gets out of hand I try to make ‘em last. A lot of the time the tears start at my toes, so imagine my delight at the concept of footless tights. No more worrying about tearing for me! For this reason I was super excited to have these tights. While I was very displeased to find that this was a poor quality product for one night at least they looked and felt fabulous on me. I was happy with the product in terms of versatility and had hoped to wear them again casually. Had they not been snagged this would have been a nice touch to by wardrobe. So although I did not like these particular tights I will not let this deter me and plan on finding a sturdier pair made by a different brand.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
These pantyhose are officially in retirement or thrown away depending on which you prefer. After managing to get three uses out of them the snags turned into holes which turned into way too much to be worth the trouble. I’m really sad this pair did not work out for me since I enjoy other products by the manufacturer so much. But I suppose no company is perfect all of the time. I did, however, really like the look of footless pantyhose and hope to find some more for next fall.

Great review; it's a shame that they snag so much. I'm always snagging hose if I'm not careful so thanks for mentioning that.

You're welcome unfulfilled, I don't usually snag my pantyhose so much so this was a surprise for me and very disappointing.
