Thumper is a small and travel-friendly vibe. It is great for stimulating small areas, so it can be used as a pinpoint clitoral vibrator or nipple stimulator. It is great for directing vibrating stimulation to a small area. When used for an extended period of time, Thumper can cause some numbness in your fingertips or hands. Thumper has a small plastic storage box that protects it and prevents the vibe from turning on during travel, even in checked baggage. The storage box contains a molded plastic insert that fits the vibrator quite well.

The vibe takes one AA battery and has a water-tight threaded cap, so it can be used in a shower or bath. Since it is watertight, Thumper can be inserted vaginally, but its small size and lack of flared base mean this toy should not be inserted anally.

The toy is roughly the size of a tube of mascara, as you can see from the photos.

The toy is made of a plastic shell dipped or covered in silicone. There is one small band of plastic visible and this area indicates the size of the removable cap. There are also some small plastic ridges on the cap that make turning the vibe on and off very easy. There is a faintly noticeable seam that runs along the length of the toy on both sides. The seam is barely visible, and I have a difficult time feeling it with my fingers.

Thumper doesn't have a strong smell or odor. Since it is silicone, it won't pick up any odors, but it will pick up lint! The finish of the silicone is called "velvet touch". It is very soft feeling, with only a little drag. It should be used only with water-based lubes as other lubes can degrade the material. A small drop of water-based lube on the tip works just fine for most situations. If you're using this for external body stimulation, you won't need the lube.

I wasn't expecting much from this small vibe, but it really does have strong vibrations for its size. You can only use it for about 45 minutes to an hour before there is a noticeable drop in performance. That is some-what frustrating.

At its peak (fresh battery, on high) the vibe is very buzzy and loud, but quiet enough to be muffled by heavy covers. I use a quilt and the noise is very faint when the vibe is on underneath the quilt.

As I said, it's roughly the size of a tube of mascara, but there is a small nub or hook on the end of the vibe. This is great for directing stimulation, and you can feel the vibrations evenly throughout the whole of the tip. I love the shape of the nub/hook, because you can catch it on various body parts and hold the stimulation there. If you hold this vibe like a pen and use the tip, that also works well for direct stimulation.

This toy is too small to be functional as a penetrating vibe.

The vibe is buzziest at the ends, so I have found that holding the vibe near the logo works best for me. There are no distinct marks or gaps in between the vibration strengths, but I think there are 4 intensities. There are no patterns.

The end with the cap rotates smoothly up through the strengths. It is not easy to use with one hand. You can turn the vibrations up easily enough, but when you try to turn them down, if you accidentally push too hard, you unscrew the cap. This isn't annoying enough to make me dislike the vibe, but it is a design flaw.

This toy is easy to care for since it is silicone and plastic. If the cap is on tight, it can be washed with warm water in between uses. You will need to use a silicone-safe cleaner (such as a 10% bleach solution or commercial toy cleaner) in between partners because this toy should NOT be boiled. It is water tight, but I would not trust this toy to survive boiling since it has electronic/mechanical parts.

The storage box is convenient and since it is a smoky color, fairly discreet. The box stays closed even when bumped around on a flight and the vibe is safe and snug inside.

The outer packaging wasn't memorable. The included carrying case is very functional and reusable.

I really enjoy this vibe a lot more than I thought I would. I expected this to be a bullet vibe with one vibration intensity and that's it, but the variety of intensities and the carrying case really make this product worth the money. It's small and doesn't do a whole lot for internal or penetrating use, but for external use it is great.
