Elegant, yet itchy
The Fingerless Ruffle Gloves are a cheap and effective way to add a touch of elegance to any outfit. Even after a few years of use they continue to hold up perfectly.

Pros
Cheap, quality construction, elegant.
Cons
Itchy until softened.
The Fingerless Ruffle Gloves add a touch of Victorian inspired elegance to any outfit. Made completely of a webbed nylon with one band of elastic at the wrist they are simply beautiful with one small flaw. They itch.
The nylon material is quite scratchy which is why it has a tendency to cause you to itch. One way I've found to alleviate this problem is to soak them in 2:1 ratio of water to liquid fabric softener for a few hours or overnight. Rinse with lukewarm water and let air dry.
Calling them fingerless is a bit of a lie as they cover to mid-knuckle on your fingers. When I first bought them I wore a size 10 band on my ring fingers and found the finger portion to be a bit tight. Since I've lost some weight my band size has gone down and the gloves fit much better. So if you have larger fingers you might want to steer clear as the nylon offers no room for stretch without tearing.
The material itself is pretty well constructed with a rough look on the stitching to complete the lace pattern. The only part that offers any stretch is the wrist which has an elastic band so that the gloves stay up. Un-stretched the wrist portion measures around 6" with a maximum stretch of 8". You cannot wear these if you have webbed fingers unless you do some modification, which is more trouble than it's worth.
Should the gloves need to be cleaned for any reason you can wash them in lukewarm sudsy water, rinse, and let air dry. Avoid disaster by not throwing them in the washer or dryer.
Overall if you're looking for a cheap way to add a bit of elegance to your outfit the fingerless ruffle gloves do the trick. I myself like to use them during photo sessions.

Experience
I’ve had my gloves for a few years now and have not experienced any problems with tearing or the elastic stretching out. It’s all about how you care for the item.
