The Cupid Ripples vibrator is a versatile toy, that would be good for users of any level of experience. With its slowly increasing width, and eight levels of different styles and speeds of vibration, this toy is sure to please any user. While made for insertion, it also is a wonderful clit stimulator. The design and range of vibrations provide for a wide variety of sensations.
Well, you cannot sterilize it. The Cupid Ripples is made of TPR Silicone, which is silicone-based, but not the same thing. However, the material is very giving, smooth, and overall pleasant to touch. One part of the Ripples vibe is the ridges along the shaft of it. These ripples act sort of as ticklers, and provide extra stimulation. Secondly, the whole vibrator has ripples along it, as it gets wider. There was no smell to it except maybe a slight new rubber-ish smell, but it washed away.
Ripples is a very accurate name for a toy with this design. The tip of it is a small round sphere that is great for clit stimulation, with the vibrator on. The Cupid Ripples consists of waves to wider areas as you move towards the "handle", or on/off button. The increasing width is gradual, but noticeably felt inside. Also along most of the shaft, there are literal ripples in the material for added sensations. Only the top bulb and the bottom inch-and-a-half or so are plain and smooth.
The widest points of this toy may be a big large for some users, but if you're looking for a new type of sensation, the soft ripples and vibrations will definitely be a new treat to try out.
The settings on this toy are very simple. There is just one button. At the very bottom of the toy. That's it. The different levels/settings are as such:
- ON.
1. Very weak constant vibration
2. Medium constant vibration
3. Strong constant vibration
4. Weak to strong wave-like vibration
5. Medium-pace wave
6. Fast-pace wave
7. Strongest constant vibration
8. Multi-speed vibration. (Cycles through all the settings)
- OFF.
You can't go wrong with a one button vibrator. However, there is no lock button, so I wouldn't recommend putting it bottom-down in a bag or suitcase where it could get bumped and turned on. The vibrations can get a little bit loud. At the higher settings, it may be heard through a closed door, under sheets. But, the lower levels are pretty discreet. I just don't know how you'd turn it off if you were looking to sneak in some vibe fun.
In water, the Ripples is exactly the same. It seems to be well sealed, and even with water dripping onto the on/off button, there was no change in performance.
Upon taking this toy out of its box, the first thing I noticed was almost a powdery film on it. Because of this odd feeling, I highly recommend you wash this toy very well before using it. Unfortunately, the Cupid Ripples is not a toy that can be sterilized, but personally I think with the ridges and increasing girth, this would not be a toy to try anally. If you intend on sharing, please be safe and put a condom on it! Right now, it is stored in a simple drawstring bag.
The packaging of this toy is kind of neat. The back of it has two flaps that open up, and they stay closed by a little magnet. On these flaps are the only instructions for the toy, but it is very informative. On the side of the box was a weird little paragraph on being environmentally friendly. I thought it read eerily like a written lecture. But, with the last line reading, "Enjoy your happy life everyday!". I'm pretty sure the meaning was just to be eco-conscious. The box is simple and should be easy to wrap.
I actually received the Cupid Ripples as an extra gift on my birthday. It came with the Lelo Gigi. I have to admit, I didn't think much of this toy, because I was so excited about the Gigi I had just gotten. But wow, was I impressed! I thought it would be just a one speed disappointing vibe, but this thing knows how to dance!
For me, the best levels of vibrations were 2, 3, and 5. Level 6 felt like I was sitting on a washing machine, and level 8, for me, was a little bit odd. Too ADHD and too much switching around. The only complaint I have about it is that the wider areas of it were not easy to get in. It may have been the ripples or the material, or just me, but struggling to get a new toy in was a little frustrating and used up lots of lube. But, this toy has very quickly become one of my favorite vibrators to use for clit stimulation with other toys, and a new bath/shower-time vibrator. I haven't had it for very long, but it's already gotten a lot of use.
Follow-up commentaryI still like it2 months after original review
The Cupid Ripples is still a great toy. It's actually become one of my usuals for showers and baths. The waterproof feature is great. The toy is still pretty wide for a warm up toy, but it's great for clit stimulation. I usually pair it up with a glass toy and go and take a "long shower".

Is it difficult at all to clean with all of the ridges?
It looks like a fun toy

A little. I haven't had much trouble with it yet, because I always wash it right after, but I bet if something dried on, it could be a bit of a challenge.

I second what Sammi said, I was going to ask that before I saw that she did. I can imagine that using lube might make it harder to clean because of the ridges too. It's does look fun though. I'm interested in the rippled texture, especially on the clit. Thanks for the review!
