Chroma Is My Chromeboy.
While the Jimmyjane Little Chroma probably won't deliver life changing vibrations, its durable construction and clever, interchangeable motor will certainly revolutionize the way you do business with vibrators. $125 seems like a bargain when you think of how much this thoughtful design saves in the long run!

Pros
Remarkably quiet, replaceable motor, non-porous, can be used for temperature play.
Cons
Is VERY loud when turning on/off, only has one speed, may be too weak for some, expensive.
Finally! Jimmyjane's Little Chroma in my hot little hands! For a buck twenty five this thing had better be worth it, right? Well, full disclosure, I don't know if any vibrator is truly worth a couple of weeks worth of groceries. That's why they call it a luxury item, right? But, if there were any luxury vibrator that could justify its price tag, that vibrator would probably be the Chroma. It's nearly perfection!
So how perfect is it? Well, I will get the bad news for clits-o-steel right out of the way. The Chroma is frankly not as powerful as some of the $10 bullet vibes you can buy at any dinky little porn shop. I'm a big fan of bullets (I own more than a dozen) so I say this with full confidence. I'm putting that right out there because for some people power is very important and for over a hundred dollars they expect vibrations of Hitachi proportions. Not here, my power fiend friends, I am sorry to report. It also only has one setting, which in spite of what Jimmyjane says, may not be "the right frequency" for everyone. However, this little slimline's vibrations are enough to satisfy most moderate appetites for power. Its vibrations are also more deep and rumbling, rather than whiny and buzzy.
Personally, I far prefer these kind of vibrations. And while it takes me longer to reach climax with the Chroma than it does with a cheapie bullet, I also find the orgasms far more satisfying. The climax doesn't occur abruptly and quickly plummet to "ouch, ouch, too much stimulation, get it away!" territory like a buzzy vibe's orgasm often will. These are much more the "ahh...yes...like that...keep going...and going... like that...getting closer... yes...ahh..." and so on and so on. The waves of climactic joy that follow decrease much less rapidly and don't leave you itchy, ouchie and yelling GET THAT THING OFF MY CLIT, NOW! I should mention here, by the by, that this is almost strictly an external use vibrator. It can be safely used for G-spotting, and if you slip a string through the holes at the base it could theoretically be used safely for anal. However, I don't see it being too fulfilling in either capacity, it's far too small and lacks any curvature whatsoever.
I don't always want a smell-the-roses kind of vibrator, I'll admit. A lot of times I come home from work exhausted and want a quickie for the sole purpose of de-stressing. For that, I love me some Acuvibe vibrations pounding away mercilessly at my clitoris. But when I have the luxury of time and patience to spend that time working lovingly at an orgasm, I find the Chroma's orgasms far more fulfilling. So it serves a very particular function in my toybox. It's an important one, I think. I'll always love it for that reason, but for that reason alone I wouldn't be happy with it. That wouldn't be enough to justify $125 spent on a vibrator.
If Chroma's strong points ended there.
However, the Chroma really does just keep the good news coming. This slender 5 inch vibe, running on one simple AA battery, is just a touch bigger than a Sharpie marker. However, in its tiny little body it is packing a world of innovation. Unlike silicone, jelly and plastics, this guy is made from 100% earth-friendly aluminum. Aluminum is non-porous which makes this easy to clean with soap and water or even in boiling water for 3-4 minutes AFTER removing the motor, battery and cap. Sans both of those components, you're left with a hollow aluminum shell that, yes, can withstand the heat of boiling water! The motor can also be replaced should it fail with another motor for the price of $20, making this a virtually immortal vibe. Yeah. Think about that one for a minute. This is an heirloom right here. A vibrator to be handed down from generation to generation, tucked mysteriously away in a Toibocks. Seeing as this is a pretty high quality vibe, I don't really see the motor needing to be replaced too often in one's lifetime (depending on use) so in the long run? This is an investment that can save you money on the dozens of cheapie bullets that we love so dearly but break so often.

Experience
(continued)
The one thing that I seriously HATE about the Chroma is how loud it is when turning it on and off. In use it is very nearly silent. Like, if I hold it 3 feet from my face I can scarcely hear it. This is not an exaggeration; this is an incredibly, seriously, freakishly quiet toy. But in order to turn this toy on or off it's necessary to screw on and unscrew the battery cap completely. The toy makes an absolutely AWFUL buzzing while you're turning it on and of, until it locks into the proper position and quiets down eerily. So not only is this time consuming, but it's loud, so if someone knocks on the door or walks in on you? You're basically screwed. For such an ingenious vibe (and it is, I swear) I can't figure out how this really annoying feature was overlooked.
Overall, I love this thing. It's convenient to use during penetration because it doesn't take up a ton of space, it's tiny enough to slip in a purse or bag to take around with you. It can be used for temperature play by placing in cold or warm water for a few minutes (although PLEASE avoid extreme temperatures unless you really want to injure your bits!) It is completely and utterly waterproof so long as the cap is screwed on tightly, not to mention completely inaudible under the water. I don't know if it'll be worth the $125 to everyone, but for me, when I weigh it all out, I end up very pleased to own this fella.

Follow-up commentary

Ah! My Little Chroma is going strong as one of my absolute favorite clitoral vibrators and do to its fabulous long-lasting construction? There seems to be no end in sight to its reign over so many of my other once favored vibes. The only thing I really, really hate about it is that none of the rechargeable AA batteries that I own fit in the battery compartment. It would seem that rechargeables are just the slightest bit too thick to fit insight the aluminum tube. So I do find myself wasting money on batteries which, in the age of rechargeable batteries and rechargeable vibrator motors, is becoming less and less forgivable to me. Especially when the damn thing cost so much to begin with!
I do still like it, but I often avoid reaching for it because I know I want to play for a good half hour or more and I don't want to waste half the juice in my batteries for one or two orgasms. Nevertheless, Chroma is still my homeboy :)

Thank you for viewing Little chroma – traditional vibrator discontinued review page!
I was wondering if you could offer a sort of comparison of the vibrations offered by the little chroma? I've had an incredibly hard time finding the toy in person to see how it feels so spending the money still makes me a little nervous even though I'm not really an intensity fiend at all. Could you give a more common toy that feels about the same, or two that are slightly stronger/weaker/faster/slower, what have you? It's just so hard to get a good idea of what people actually mean by moderate, low frequency, rumbly in comparison to other things...
Thanks so much!
