MiMi is externally made of a lovely silicone material. Silicone is wonderful because it isn't porous, doesn't absorb lube or bacteria, and is highly durable. Silicone is one of the best flexible toy materials out there because of it, and certainly worth the cost. The silicone on MiMi is totally smooth, not loose from the base at all, and flawless. Internally, it seems that MiMi is most likely made of plastic, which gives it it's rigid feel. At the bottom of MiMi there are two metallic magnets which are your controls, and your charging contact points.

MiMi is very velvety, smooth, and rigid, but the silicone gives it a slightly plush feel to it. The silicone has a medium amount of grab to it. Having a small amount of drag to the material is wonderful for actually gripping on to your clitoris so things aren't sliding everywhere. If you need to, you can add a little water-based lube and it will become incredibly slippery and glide wherever you need it.

The only downside to silicone that has any amount of drag to it is that it does have a tendency to pick up random lint, dust, cat hair, and fuzz. With MiMi, this can be easily washed or wiped away before use. MiMi's silicone is a little less grabby than some of the other silicone toys I have. There are some that can become a nightmare as soon as you take them out. MiMi isn't like that. If you lay it on the bed or roll it around on the floor, it may pick up little fuzzies, but if you store it right, it shouldn't be a problem.

Silicone usually has very little to no smell and MiMi was no exception. Personally, I think the smell of silicone is pretty sexy and smells like awesome quality. MiMi had a very slight smell, but it wasn't overwhelming and didn't smell like a mess of chemicals. After leaving MiMi out for a little while, it didn't smell like anything.

MiMi is small enough to fit in the palm of your hand quite comfortably and is incredibly ergonomic. The shape can be described as a flattened egg. MiMi tapers from wider at the bottom to thinner at the top, and is less than an inch thick at largest end. It is about 2" wide and 3 1/4" tall. Because of the small size, it is also incredibly lightweight and can be easily maneuvered for any area you need it. MiMi easily fits into the palm of your hand for more of a natural feeling vibrator experience, and is also excellent for general massage because of this.

Mimi's vibratons resonate through the entire vibe incredibly well, but they are a bit more powerful near the tip. When holding MiMi, the vibrations are rumbly enough so that they don't generally numb the fingers which is often the case with small, buzzier vibes. If you want the most powerful stimulation MiMi can offer, place it on its side against your clitoris.

What I really enjoy about MiMi are the different ranges of stimulation you can get from one vibe. You can use MiMi over a broad area and place the whole thing flat against your clitoris/labia. Normally, I need pinpointed stimulation, but this is actually great for me. Placing MiMi on its side or using just the tip allows for a much smaller range of vibrations that feel like they're much more concentrated. No matter how you hold the MiMi, it's increcibly comfortable and easy to grip. It seems that MiMi was truly made to be the perfect toy.

The design of how the MiMi charges is really unique, too. There's nothing to actually plug into your toy which means there are no holes in it. The charger has two little magnets which attach to the buttons on the bottom of the vibe. These click right on and hold on pretty tight, but are eaily removed. While charging, MiMi has a small little heart-shaped red light by the small Je Joue logo.

MiMi has 5 levels of vibrations and 5 pulsations modes. The first vibration mode is incredibly soft and is great for a little bit of a tease. There is a lot of difference between the levels of vibrations, and the highest level is blissfully intense. I mean, I was really surpised that such intense rumbly vibrations could come from this tiny vibe. I'm used to using a Hitachi or other huge massagers, and the MiMi totally got me going and to where I wanted to go. Then, the other thing that surprised me was how silent MiMi was. It can't really be heard under the covers, and certainly can't be heard through a door or over a shower. That's the perfect combination for a vibrator: powerful and nearly silent. The pulsation patterns are pretty standard. You have pulsations in varied speeds, and rollercoaster functions. These aren't the most unique functions out there, but they're all very pleasing and fun.

To control MiMi, simply use the + and - buttons on the base. Now, in some reviews people have said that the buttons can be a little hard to press, but I didn't find this to be the case. The buttons do have a good bit of tension and don't really "click" to let you know that you've pressed them all the way, but this never seemed to be a problem for me. Pressing the + button will turn the MiMi on, and each additional press with cycle you through the various speeds and functions. The - button will take you to the previous speed setting or turn the MiMi off. Once you get the hang of the buttons, they're very easy to use.

It takes a couple of hours to charge MiMi, which can be a frustrating wait. Once charged, MiMi will last 2-3 hours of play. However, the stand-by time isn't that long. If I fully charge mine and leave it for a couple of weeks, it will be dead and I'll have to charge it again. It's a good idea to charge it after use to make sure it's there when you need it and it's not going to give out on you in the middle of play because it doesn't have a low battery indicator.

MiMi is easy to care for. When it gets a little dirty, a good wipe down with a toy wipe or cloth dampened with a little soap or water will get it nice and clean for you. Unlike other silicone toys, you can't boil this one to sterilize it, but you can wipe it down with a 1:10 bleach and water solution. Make sure you only use water-based lubes with your MiMi because silicone lubes can damage the material. Also, make sure your battery contacts are dry before charging.
