Pros
Premium silicone and waterproof - optimum power from 2 AAA batteries
Cons
A little small for some - and maybe too loud for others
First the basics - then a bit of detail on why we bought this toy and how it performed.
By design, features and functionality the Liberte 3 is a high-end beginners toy. In this size and power range you can get toys for half this price. However because it's made of high-grade silicone and is waterproof you get a beginners toy with features that make it worth paying a premium for. Apparently making it rechargeable would have put it beyond the target price range - so it uses 2 AAA batteries.
For the size of the toy - the batteries provide plenty of power - but you power users out there will not be satisfied - your Mimi or Uma or Mona are much more powerful.
Constructed of premium grade silicone the Liberte 3 is already a cut above you average beginner's toy - adding the fact that it's waterproof and have a real good reason to give this toy serious consideration if it's the kind of toy you are looking for. Most already know to avoid silicone lubes with silicone toys - but it's always worth mentioning as a reminder. Use your favorite water-based lube with the Liberte 3.
Powered by 2 AAA batteries it delivers adequate power - delivered in 3 speeds (low, med & high) and 4 patterns; escalating vibes, slow & fast pulses and a patterned pulse. The single button control means that you have to cycle through all seven settings - you cannot go back - or hold the button to turn it off.
Because its silicone and waterproof - cleanup is a snap. Simply wash it in warm soapy water - and if you like, you can sanitize with bleach or alcohol. Again because its waterproof - any of the activities described below can take place in you tub, shower, or jacuzzi - just another reason to invest in quality waterproof toys.
Although long and thin 5" insertable x 1.25" diameter - it's so thin that use for vaginal penetration doesn't seem to be high on it's list of strengths. However, younger women and those who prefer small diameter toys - may find it quite nice. The tip is tapered to ease entry and the material is soft.
I don't see any prospects for this toy as a g-spot toy - even with the curved tip - it's just not going to hit most women's g-spots with enough power to help achieve orgasm. The reason I say this is that the vibes are strongest near the center of the shaft - not the tip. The bottom contains the batteries - then there is the motor - then the flexible silicone tip. Although the vibrations radiate through the entire toy - they are noticeably stronger about 1/2 to 2/3rds of the way up the shaft.
So if it isn't great for penetration - it must be a good clitoral stimulator, right? Well maybe - again probably for the beginner. Because of the variation in intensity along the shaft, the multiple speeds and patterns - there is a good chance that a woman could slide the shaft along her clitoris - to find the Goldilocks zone - not too strong - not too weak - just right!
Another potential clitoral use would be during intercourse. The Liberte 3's slender profile makes it relatively easy to slip it between you and your partner to add a little clitoral vibration to the action. The only caution here is to remember that the strongest vibrations are not in the tip.
Because this is a beginner's toy - it comes to mind that women in dorms may be looking at this toy. I'd be careful because the side effect of the fairly strong vibes is a fairly high noise level. During penetration it's probably not going to be a problem - but for clitoral use it's pretty loud. Turn up your music! But if all your friends in adjacent rooms use head phones - you'll be OK!
Conclusion:
I'm going to give the Liberte 3 fairly high marks - to reflect it's use for what I see as it's intended market - younger women. For general quality and utility I give it 4 stars - it's just too loud for the top rating.

Experience
The Liberte 3 is not our typical purchase. We generally buy larger toys and prefer rechargeables. My goal with the Linerte 3 was to have a 'next' toy to use when preparing my wife for anal sex. DISCLAIMER - for obvious reasons you would not normally recommend this for anal play - it has no flared base. I'm just being honest here, I have no problem holding on to it and my wife's ass is not prone to sucking things in!
We needed something between a 3/4" slim vibe and 1.5" butt plug - size wise this fit the bill. Liberte 3 is also medical grade silicone and waterproof for safety and ease of cleanup. For this purpose we actually both find it pleasant and useful.

Follow-up commentary
2 months after original review
The Contour Liberte 3 is a well made medium strength vibe very suitable for beginners and those not requiring strong vibrations. Battery life is above average and the waterproof feature is very nice.

Nice review! I just got the Vibrator Enhancers a few days ago - they'll make quite a few of toys similar to this one anal-friendly enough for even solo use.
